Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol)

Vitamin D, also known as the “sunshine vitamin,” is produced when our skin is exposed to UV rays from the sun. It plays an essential role in immunity, mood, calcium absorption, bone health, and supports cardiovascular health.

Vitamin K2 (as MK7)

Vitamin K2 plays a vital role in blood clotting and helps optimize the body’s use of calcium, directing it into the bones and teeth.

Organic Black Pepper Extract (BioPerine)

Black pepper extract has been shown to significantly enhance the absorption of nutrients to ensure that you’re getting the most out of this Vitamin D3 + K2 Complex.

Why should I choose NutriRise K2+D3 over single vitamins?
Unlike single vitamin supplements, our product is carefully crafted with your overall health in mind. Instead of providing just vitamin D3, we paired it with vitamin K. When D3 increases your body’s calcium absorption, vitamin K2 steps in and directs the calcium, telling it exactly where to go. We added calcium to increase your daily intake and BioPerine to provide an extra boost for all three nutrients, allowing your body to absorb them and begin utilizing them immediately. Our supplement is like a complete little gift for your body, packaged and ready to go!

Should I take NutriRise Vitamin K2+D3 with food?
Vitamins K2 and D3 are fat-soluble vitamins, and calcium carbonate requires stomach acid for absorption. Take this supplement with a meal containing some dietary fat for best absorption. Do not take it on an empty stomach.

What is vitamin D3, and why is it important?
Vitamin D3 is the same form of vitamin D our skin absorbs from the sun. Considered more bioavailable than vitamin D2, D3 is a powerhouse for our bones, cardiovascular system, skin, hair, nails, and immune system. One of vitamin D3’s primary roles is helping increase calcium absorption within the intestines. Vitamin D3 has been shown to raise vitamin D levels in the blood more quickly and efficiently than vitamin D2.

What is vitamin K2, and why is it important?
We use vitamin K2 in the form of Mk-7 in our supplement because this type stays in the body longer and has more time to positively impact the body than other forms of vitamin K2. Vitamin K2 works synergistically with vitamin D3 to distribute calcium to the appropriate places within the body. Without K2, calcium may end up in arteries, and soft tissues, even breaking down the skin’s elastin. Adding vitamin K2 to our supplement helps ensure that the calcium is directed appropriately to the bones and teeth. The goal is solid bone density and soft blood vessels, not the other way around!

Why does NutriRise include calcium carbonate with the K2+D3?
Calcium carbonate contains more significant amounts of elemental calcium than the alternative form of calcium, calcium citrate. Vitamin D3 allows the intestines to absorb more calcium, so including it in this supplement boosts your daily intake, providing an immediate source of this vital mineral for bone health.

What is BioPerine, and why is it included?
BioPerine, or black pepper fruit extract, is added to our supplement to enhance the bioavailability of the other nutrients. Just 5mg of BioPerine works to improve the bioavailability of vitamin D3, vitamin K2, and calcium! Essentially, BioPerine increases the body’s metabolism and demand for these nutrients, thus allowing it to absorb and utilize them more readily.

What are the benefits of taking a Vitamin K2+D3 supplement?

In terms of your overall health, vitamins D3 and K2 are a power-packed duo that works best together! Over 1 billion people worldwide experience vitamin D deficiency. Unfortunately, supplementing with this product alone can lead to calcium deposits in arteries and soft tissues, where the calcium doesn’t belong. However, combine it with vitamin K2, and you’ve got a match made in heaven! The combination of vitamins D3 and K2 may:

  • Support bone health by depositing calcium and phosphate in your bones and aiding in bone formation & healing through a chemical reaction known as carboxylation.
  • Support joint health by directing calcium into bones and supporting a healthy inflammatory response
  • Support stable moods and overall outlook on life
  • Support cardiovascular health by redirecting calcium deposits into bones instead of calcification in soft tissues, organs, and blood vessels.
  • Promote healthier hair, skin, and nails by supporting healthy hair follicles and elastin within the skin.
  • Promote immune health by filling vitamin d receptor sites within the immune system, allowing proper chemical reactions to support and regulate the immune system.
  • Support healthy digestion by helping maintain healthy gut bacteria levels.
  • Promote insulin sensitivity and blood sugar regulation
  • Support healthy sleep

Why is it important to take vitamins K2 and D3 together?
Vitamin D3 helps our bodies to absorb calcium and phosphate. Once it does, Vitamin K2 can go to work and ensure that those minerals end up in the right place (our bones!) instead of in our arteries where calcification and plaque build-up, causing heart disease, heart attacks, and ultimately premature death.

Why should I take vitamin D?
The primary reason for taking a Vitamin K2 + D3 dietary supplement is to raise low vitamin D levels. Over 1 billion people worldwide suffer from vitamin D deficiency. This number includes up to 40% of Americans. The National Institute of Health recommends levels of 50nmol/L or higher for healthy individuals. The blood test for this measurement is the Serum 25-Hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D. This test measures levels after the liver process the vitamin D but before the activation by the kidneys. Measuring this level is considered most accurate because its levels remain consistent in the bloodstream for approximately 15 days. In contrast, after it activates in the kidneys, levels can fluctuate within a few hours.

What are the symptoms of low vitamin D?

Symptoms of low vitamin D include:

  • Mood changes
  • Bone loss
  • Muscle cramps and weakness
  • Bone and joint pain
  • Fatigue

Supplementing with Vitamin D3 for low vitamin D levels raises blood levels more than with D2. A study in The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism featuring 38 adults with low levels (<30ng/ml) of vitamin D showed the clear winner of D3 over D2 in the controlled study. Surprisingly, many of the prescriptions written for vitamin D supplementation are in the form of vitamin D2. The body’s activation of D3 into the usable form takes considerably longer in the liver than the activation of D2. This is why D3 is more effective at raising levels in the blood, simply because of the length of time it remains in circulation.

Does vitamin D deficiency worsen with age?
Vitamin D deficiency increases with age. Older adults produce four times less vitamin D than young adults in their early 20’s. Various factors contribute to this happening, though the largest is a decrease in kidney function. The reduction in our body’s vitamin D production with age directly corresponds to a host of other chronic conditions. These include osteoporosis due to the body’s inability to absorb adequate calcium, and cardiovascular disease, resulting from calcium deposits in inappropriate and unhelpful areas.
