My name is Brandy Gillmore, and after recovering from my own life-changing injury, it’s become my mission to share with others the same discoveries I made that changed my health and my entire life. Our minds are truly incredible. The placebo is proof of this.
Each week, I will take this simple awareness to a whole new level. I will even coach live callers to free themselves of physical pain using only their mind. Then, I’ll provide a combination of practical and spiritual insights to help you master your mind, body, emotions, and energy so you can heal your health, yourself, and your life.
Let’s begin.
A Simple, Powerful Practice to Transform Your Healing
Hello and welcome to today’s episode! I want to share with you a simple but powerful practice you can use with your mind, body, and energy to help speed up healing, relieve stress, and even create more positive feelings in your life.
By the way, this is truly divine timing! If you recall, in last week’s episode on IQ, we talked about the importance of optimism. Medical research shows that optimistic people not only live longer but also experience faster healing in their bodies, including:
- Speeding up cell proliferation, or the growth and division of cells. Think of it like dish soap—when water touches it, it bubbles and multiplies.
- Reducing the risk of heart disease.
- Accelerating recovery, even after surgery, while reducing the likelihood of re-hospitalization.
Optimism can truly optimize healing at every level. Yet, negativity or pessimism slows recovery and exacerbates stress and illness.
My Personal Journey: From Pain to Positivity
Reflecting on my own journey, I remember how hard it was to be optimistic when I was in so much pain. There I was: in a wheelchair, using a walker and cane, in excruciating pain, while doctors told me there was nothing else they could do. I was receiving nerve ablations, infusions, injections, and daily medication. I was exhausted, frustrated, and struggling to sleep.
Initially, I tried to stay optimistic, but it wore off as the pain persisted. However, I began using a simple but transformative technique: I connected with a memory that made me feel optimistic and joyful.
For me, this was a childhood memory of Christmas. As a child, my siblings and I would build blanket forts in one room, sleep in our sleeping bags, and watch Christmas movies. On Christmas morning, we’d wake up to family, friends, and that magical glow of excitement and connection.
Rekindling Joy to Heal the Mind and Body
During my injury, I revisited this memory each night before bed. I allowed myself to feel the anticipation, love, and joy of Christmas as a child. It became a way to reconnect with feelings of excitement and optimism for life.
Of course, now that I’ve healed, I love life deeply—I wish the days were even longer! But back then, life felt unbearable, and I needed to consciously work on falling back in love with life.
Why Loving Life Matters for Healing
You may not feel like I did back then, but you may have lost some of your joy or enthusiasm for life due to hardships, health issues, or burnout. I often see this happen when people face challenges or even as they age. They begin to say things like, “Oh, I’ve done all that,” or “Christmas is just for kids.”
Losing our love for life can creep in subtly. Whether due to a health issue, trauma, or even spiritual detachment, it’s crucial to nurture this connection. Falling in love with life is like maintaining a relationship—it requires conscious effort to create loving, joyful experiences.
Matching Your Energy to Reflect Love and Joy
During my injury, I realized something profound: Life reflects how we feel about it. If I loved life at a level two, life would reflect that back to me at a level two. So, I made a decision—I wanted life to reflect a level 10, so I needed to love life at a level 10.
I began actively changing my energy and working toward amplifying feelings of joy, love, and excitement. And this wasn’t just a mental exercise—it was about fully embodying those feelings in my heart and energy. This simple practice was pivotal in my healing.
A Question for You: How Do You Feel About Life?
Ask yourself:
- How do you feel about the holidays?
- How do you feel about next year?
- How do you feel about today, your future, and life as a whole?
Many people don’t realize that their feelings about life affect their health, happiness, and outcomes. For example, if you expect failure, hardship, or negativity, your subconscious aligns with those expectations. But if you expect joy, love, and success, that energy aligns too.
The Power of Feelings and Expectations
It’s not just about expectation; it’s about the feeling behind it. Fully embody optimism and positivity, and watch how it changes your life. Remember, how you feel shapes your health, relationships, and experiences.
Patterns, whether in relationships or health, often stem from subconscious emotional imprints. Consciously shifting your feelings and energy helps break these patterns and creates new, empowering possibilities.
Closing Thoughts and Holiday Wishes
So, today’s IQ episode is about reminding you to fall in love with life and amplify feelings of joy, love, and optimism. These feelings not only shape your health and happiness but also influence how life reflects back to you.
As the holidays approach, I wish you and your loved ones a wonderful, joyful season. If this episode touched your heart, please share it with someone you care about—or even someone you don’t know. Every happy, empowered individual makes the world a better place for us all.
