If you have found yourself asking any of these questions such as:
Welcome to Heal Yourself, Change Your Life. My name is Brandy Gillmore. And after recovering from my own life-changing injury, it’s become my mission to share with others the same discoveries I made that changed my health and my entire life. Our minds are truly incredible. The placebo is proof of this.
Each week, I will take this simple awareness to a whole new level. I will even coach live callers to free themselves of physical pain using only their mind. And then I’ll provide you with a combination of practical and spiritual insights that you can use to master your mind, your emotions, and your energy, to help you heal your health, yourself, and your life.
Let’s begin.
Hello, and welcome to this week’s quick IQ episode where we talk about insights and questions. And today we have a really great question from a listener regarding the mind-body connection and healing results—and how to get real results.
Her email reads:
“Hi Brandy. I recently found your podcast and I’m loving it. Your volunteer you had on today reminds me of myself.”
She sent this in on Thursday from episode 161 with Monica, but she says she reminds me of myself because she mentioned she had tried many different ways to work with the mind and had not gotten results. I have been on that same journey for over 20 years.
“I have also tried Sarno’s work, as well as Louise Hay’s work and many others. I have been meditating for years and I still cannot seem to get results. Can you explain what the difference is and how you are able to help get results so fast? I do believe in the power of the mind to heal. And I have been a longtime follower of Louise Hay, and I strongly believe that I can get results, but I still have not been able to do so. I recently found your podcast, and I just love listening to you work with volunteers. It all makes so much sense, but I’m wondering if you can explain more so I can understand the difference. Is that possible? Thank you.”
All right. So this is a really great question. And before we dive into the specific differences, I do want to take a moment and just say that I absolutely adored Louise Hay—a beautiful, beautiful being. And even though I don’t 100 percent align with her teachings, I think she was an absolute pioneer and an incredible human being.
Even though I have a different approach with working with the mind and healing, her work paved the way for so many people. What she brought forth—the awareness of healing and metaphysics and healing with the mind—was just incredible.
In fact, a few years after I healed, I had this message from the universe that I should go see Louise Hay. I looked up where she would be speaking, and she was in Pasadena, right outside of Los Angeles. So I registered to go to the event.
When I arrived, she was doing a book signing in the lobby. I stood in line as the universe guided me, not knowing what I would do. When my turn came, I felt directed to offer to give her a message about her neck pain she had mentioned publicly. Normally, I never intrude, but I followed the guidance. To my surprise, she stopped her entire line and invited me to sit and talk with her privately for a few minutes.
She shared that she had been doing all kinds of EFT tapping and other modalities to work on her neck. We talked briefly, and I shared some insights. Though we couldn’t work deeply at that moment, it was such a sweet exchange. She was glowing, so kind and radiant—just a beautiful soul.
When we came back out, I asked if we could take a quick picture together, and she said yes. Then one of her team members, Karen, came rushing over, concerned because Louise had never before stopped a signing mid-line. It was a sweet and special encounter I’ll always cherish. Louise was truly a pioneer—pure heart, radiant energy, and compassion that touched millions.
So while I don’t fully resonate with every detail of Louise Hay’s teachings, I honor her profoundly. My goal has been to pick up that baton from her passing and take it to the next level—to show people how to get results faster, how to truly make those shifts that create transformation.
Now, let’s talk about the differences in my work and how I help people achieve those real, tangible healing results.
One of the first differences is in the way I interpret what the body is saying. The information that I get from the body is often very different from what others may interpret. That’s part of why I demonstrate results live—so you can see your body responding in real time.
Every time I work with someone, I want them to see that their body is responding—not just because “Brandy said so,” but because they can literally feel and witness the change. That difference in interpretation—the ability to read the body’s feedback accurately—is one of the biggest distinctions in my work.
Another major factor that sets my approach apart is understanding that there are always multiple emotional ingredients behind any issue. Think of it like a recipe: if you want to bake a cake, flour alone won’t do it—you need several ingredients combined in specific ways.
Similarly, in the mind-body connection, stress alone doesn’t always create illness. There are people in high-stress jobs or the military who are not ill, and there are people with deep emotional trauma who may not have any physical issues. It’s about how different emotional ingredients combine to form a specific outcome—like illness, depression, or PTSD.
When I work with people, I never focus on just one emotional pattern. You’ll always notice there are multiple layers—multiple emotional components—to fully resolve an issue and reach zero pain. Those layers are what I call the different factors of self-healing.
In some cases, one of those ingredients involves self-identity. When a person has been ill for a long time, they can start to identify as “someone who is sick.” That identity can perpetuate the problem—even if the initial illness heals, another may arise. This can also happen when a person unconsciously identifies with a sick parent, repeating that pattern of illness through emotional identification.
So, point being, in my work there are different factors for self-healing that come up. These layers and ingredients are what make the real difference in helping people get results.
Now, the reason I don’t always talk about every factor—like self-identity—on the podcast is that we usually have a limited amount of time when working with a volunteer. Often, we’re focusing on what’s right on the surface—the part that’s showing up most strongly in that moment. Sometimes there are deeper childhood patterns or layers that we don’t reach in a short session.
Each episode is designed to be educational and inspirational for everyone listening—to show what’s possible and help you begin connecting the dots in your own mind-body relationship. The full, deeper work can take more time, but the podcast gives you a window into the specific emotional links that can create or release pain.
To answer this listener’s question specifically, one key difference is that the emotional links I’ve found in the mind-body connection are different from those identified by others—such as Louise Hay or Dr. Sarno. These are the links that I discovered through my own healing and through working with thousands of others. And they work—consistently. So I stick with them.
Another difference is that I always look for and address multiple emotional links for each ailment, rather than just one. That’s one of the main reasons why the results you see in my sessions can happen so quickly.
Now, if we were to boil this down into the biggest takeaways, I would say there are two keys to getting real, lasting results:
When you do that—when you actually feel differently—your body begins to respond. You start to see those tangible healing results that might have once seemed impossible.
If you go back and listen to episode 161 with the beautiful volunteer, Monica, you’ll notice that there were multiple ingredients that came up in her session. Each one needed to be identified and shifted before she reached zero pain. That’s the key—multiple emotional components and a genuine shift in feeling.
As you know, I love to make every podcast actionable—something that you can take and use right away in your own life. So, here’s what I want to invite you to do from today’s episode:
Take a moment to look at your life and notice one thing that feels off. It might be something in a relationship, a situation at work, or even a recurring emotional pattern. Be honest with yourself—what is one thing that has been feeling “off” for you?
Once you identify it, decide that you’re going to make a radical emotional shift about it. Don’t just meditate it away or pretend it isn’t there. Instead, transform how you feel about it from the inside out.
This is what I call the 180 Shift—creating the exact opposite feeling from what has been holding you back. For example:
Whatever emotion has been there—flip it 180 degrees. Feel the exact opposite. When you do this, you begin reprogramming your energy, and that’s when real transformation occurs.
Even if this shift isn’t directly linked to a physical ailment, it still uplifts your entire energy field. Your life improves, your relationships improve, and your health begins to align with that higher vibration.
So, my friend, I want to invite you to look honestly at your life. Notice where there’s been pain—emotional or physical—and be willing to shift it radically. Remember, you are not powerless. You are incredible. You have the ability to heal, to create change, and to transform your energy in ways that uplift your entire being.
And please, do make a point to hit the share button on this episode. Share it with someone you love, someone you care about, or even someone you don’t know personally—because the more we all learn to raise our consciousness and empower ourselves, the better this world becomes for everyone.
I love that you are here, that we’re on this journey of life together, and I look forward to connecting with you on the next episode. Have an incredible rest of your day.
Thank you for listening to Heal Yourself, Change Your Life.
All the time, people reach out and say how much these episodes have given them hope, touched their hearts, or helped them stay positive in hard times. Some have said it woke them up to a whole new level of awareness about how amazing we all really are.

The point and the power of these demonstrations is to create a radical shift in our collective consciousness—by showing everyone what we’re truly capable of. Each volunteer you hear on this show needs to continue reinforcing their results, but the purpose is to show that you can create rapid, real change in your own health and your life when you learn to work with your mind.
You are absolutely incredible.
Now, I do want to be clear—most people will not get results this fast on their own. I make it look easy because of the discoveries I’ve made about the deeper workings of the mind. There’s so much happening below the surface that most people aren’t aware of.
