Welcome to Heal Yourself, Change Your Life. My name is Brandy Gillmore and after recovering from my own life changing injury, it's become my mission to share with others the same discoveries I made. That changed my health and my entire life. Our minds are truly incredible. The placebo is proof of this.
Each week, I will take this simple awareness to a whole new level. I will even coach live callers to free themselves of physical pain using only their mind. And then I'll provide you with a combination of practical and spiritual insights that you can use to master your mind and your energy to help you heal your health, yourself, and your life.
Let's begin.
Hello and welcome. It is so wonderful to connect with you. I just love that you are here, continuing to expand your mind, your energy, your consciousness, your healing. I just love it. And I just love today's episode. You know, Going through my own injury, there were certain insights that really became pivotal for me in making the change with my health, with my life, everything.
And one of those insights was the importance of subtle emotions and subtle thoughts. Because when I first started working with my mind, I used to think that, oh, well, if there's an emotion or a thought that's subtle, It means it's insignificant, but once I began to understand my mind and how everything works, what I began to realize is that typically if there's a subtle thought or a subtle emotion, then likely it's buried in your subconscious mind, which could mean that it's even more impactful.
And that was a pivotal awareness for me because then what I began to realize is that I really needed to rewire my mind. Completely. It wasn't just about controlling your positive thinking. It was really about rewiring the mind. Because a lot of times what can happen is people try to, you know, have positive thoughts on top, which was something that I had tried.
You try to have positive thoughts on top, but those subtle thoughts. And they're good indicators on whether your mind is really reprogrammed or not. And so that was pivotal. And that's one of the things that I love about today's episode is that we'll start to notice some things surface that our conscious mind may not seem as being important.
But for me, They're extremely important as far as getting results. And by the way, you'll notice that because our volunteer starts out with pain and then is able to free herself with pain without even realizing what happened and what shifted. So it's just beautiful. the way it unfolds. And so I want to invite you to think in that way as we go through today's episode.
Now, my session today is with a beautiful volunteer. Her name is Nicole and she's an absolute sweetheart. And so that said, let's dive in with our beautiful volunteer. Nicole, here we go.
Hello, Nicole. Hi. Yes. Hello, Brandy. Hi. It is wonderful to connect with you. Yes. Thank you so much for having me. Absolutely. How's your day going? Today? Well, today, okay. Let's say okay. Okay. I hear you. And, uh, and what can I help you with today, beautiful? I have been, I'm having problems with my lower back, like really huge pain in, on the left side.
And it's like, uh, also like nerve pain, um, like from the sciatic nerve, I think. And, um, I've been to the doctor because it just didn't go away. And after the MRT, um, they just said they are not. Really sure what it is. What they see is that, um, like the spinal disc, the buffering between the vertebrae is almost gone and the, the bones, um, you know, they, they don't have the buffer and that's why the nerves in between get stuck and it hurts.
So basically the diagnosis is either a possible, uh, spinal canal stenosis. I think it's called. Okay. Um, yeah. And it's just, it doesn't go away and I don't want to take painkillers all the time. And it was a little crushing because they said, of course, it, um, like the buffering, it doesn't come back. Um, it's been used up and I don't want to get an operation.
So I will try to have like physical therapy. So that's. Basically it, and I'm just wondering, I mean, I know this comes with age, blah, blah, blah, but I mean, I'm not that old and a lot of people that are older don't have it, you know? And you know, there are, this is the thing is. You can see people who are, you know, 70 who look very old, and you can also see people who are 70 who look very young and are, and not just look young, but are young at heart and full of life.
And so, um, exactly. So I wouldn't put yourself in any box and I'm not saying that you're 70, by the way, um, not to imply that you're 70, um, but, um, but just give Example. Um, all right. So if I ask you right now, what your level of pain is, zero to 10, what would you say? Between like a six, maybe six, seven, depending what I do.
Okay. So, and six, seven. So, and I would say this is, I would also say, um, keep your mind open to possibility. It's kind of like this. Have you listened to past episodes? Yes. Now, would you say that most people realize that we can heal pain with our mind, or even if you think about, like, if you think about the episode on, what was it, episode number ten, there is a woman who had a tumor in her throat that healed, um, and even after she had her MRI, and so, or, which is quote unquote impossible, or if you think about Uh, there's a woman who was bedridden, who's now running many marathons, who had mass cell activation, who had POTS syndrome, who had all of these things that quote unquote weren't gonna heal.
And so, so I would invite you not to limit what you feel like your body can do. Does that make sense? Right. Absolutely. That's why I'm here. Yep. Um, uh, all right. So, uh, and I, and I love that you're here, but I want to make sure, um, it's good to not, um, basically, okay. So kind of to unpack this a little bit more, uh, universe said that like, even when you said, as far as ideas with aging, what would happen if you actually saw yourself as getting Even as you quote unquote aged, um, that as time went by, we'll say, what if you knew you weren't going to get sick?
What if you knew you could stay healthy and vibrant? What would that look like? Yeah. I got a little nudge that I was supposed to just unpack that a little bit.
Right, so let's go ahead and pause it just for a quick moment. You know, first and foremost, I just, I love her. I love her self awareness. I love her honesty. I love her energy. Just a beautiful, beautiful being. And when we stop and look at it for a moment, our subconscious subtle thoughts regarding aging really do matter.
Now notice for a moment how there's a part of her that says, you know, Oh, well. You know, I don't really believe that because I'm, I'm here. But both of those things can impact you. And what you'll want to note is if you find yourself saying something, it's because it is in your subconscious mind. And as you do, it can very much.
still impact you. So even though this is something she may not fully ascribe to, it's still there, like zero to 10 at a 12. And so it's interesting because we can have beliefs or subtle feelings inside that are completely conflicting, just like we can absolutely love somebody. And we can also. or upset with them or mad at them, but still love them.
So we can have very mixed emotions. We can have mixed beliefs that don't even make logical sense. And I see that happen all of the time. Now, the point being with aging is if we stop and think about it for a moment, it is common to have increasing health issues with age. And there is a mindset around that.
And so what I want to note here is be careful of this mindset. And at some point in time, I'm going to do like an entire episode on aging just because there are a lot of factors when it comes to aging. And that's the reason also there are more and more things that manifest because let's be honest, there are people who are 70, 80, 90.
Who are healthy, who are in great shape. There are people who live a hundred, 110, 120. I mean, there are people who live a lot longer, who are healthy, who are happy, who are in shape. And there are also people who are not, and I remember, and I talked about this on a previous episode, but my neighbor, even when I was injured during that time, she would talk to me about how this 94, it was either a 92 or 94 year old, would beat her on the court.
And at the time, my neighbor, she was in her seventies. Her name was Rita, just a beautiful, beautiful being. I love this woman. And it was funny because that's exactly what I'd hear. She said, Oh my gosh, this 94 year old or 92 year old, I can't remember the exact age, beat me on the court in tennis. And it was like her ego was hurt.
But my point is to be playing tennis in your 90s and beating people 20 years younger and 30 years younger and doing that. I mean, this woman had an incredible mindset. And so I would invite you to really see yourself at any age being healthy and fit and amazing. And if you do have beliefs, even if you don't fully believe them, I would definitely recommend getting rid of them because if you think about it, this emotion, this subtle emotion, this subtle thought is in her mindset somewhere.
And if it's in yours, I'd strongly recommend eradicating it. All right. So that said, let's go ahead and dive back in with beautiful Nicole. Here we go.
So I'm going to ask you just for a moment to breathe. And, uh, And you have kids? No. Um, you have, um, who is it that you feel like you're taking care of? Do you know? Um, what comes to mind spontaneously, um, like in an, in an emotional way, taking care of is like my mom and my girlfriend. Okay. There we go. Okay.
Um, and your girlfriend. Okay. So there, and there we go. Okay. Um, Alright, so I'm going to ask you to breathe, and if I ask you to notice, and we're going to go kind of a different way for a moment, if I ask you to notice how much you've had a feeling of stress as far as not feeling supported financially and feeling stress, financial stress.
If I ask you zero to ten, how much you would say that is? Eight. So, I'm going to ask you just for a moment to breathe, and if I ask you how much you feel like, um, you're not being supported the way you want to be or that you always have to put others first, um, how much would you say that is? Also eight. Mm hmm.
Okay, so I'm going to ask you just for a moment to breathe, and so I'm going to ask you just for a moment to notice, how long have you felt that way? Um, probably for a very long time, um, I kind of have these two sides where I, sometimes I absolutely feel what you just said, but then, um, I kind of feel guilty about it because I think that's not true that I actually do it because I just take care of myself and I'm kind of like, I don't know, like selfish.
Um, I'm not saying, I'm saying I love your self awareness. So I'm not saying, yes, you're selfish. What I'm saying is, yes, I see what you're talking about. Um, and I, and I love your self awareness and go ahead. Um, yeah, so I think I always thought, um, or I thought a lot of times that I'm selfish, um, when I exactly know, for example, what I need or what I want, what I would like, and.
Don't feel, I don't know, maybe comfortable when I don't get it, then I think, well, you can't have what you want all the time. And that's kind of selfish, you know? So basically I feel like I lost a little bit that the scale of, uh, when it is okay for me and when it is not. And what I do have constantly about a lot of things is, um, the, the feeling of guilt.
Yeah. Very much so. Um, all right, so I'm going to ask you just for a moment to breathe and I'm going to ask you also to notice the part as far as the financial stress piece and if I ask you how long you've been feeling those feelings, how long would you say that is? I think I was, um, in my early twenties and that would be like 25 years ago maybe when I first started working.
Not, yeah, not that much, but it was always like a pressure. And, um, so basically when I started working, I think. Okay, absolutely. Now, I want you to notice also the part of you, can you see the part that has a lot of guilt, uh, financially? Can you see that? Or I can put it in another way, um, and say, can you see the part of you that beats yourself up financially?
Yes. Bingo. Zero to ten, how much? Ten. Yep, ten. I would have gone with the twelve, but we'll go with your ten. Yes, and I don't, mostly for, I think if you look at it for no reason, you know, like it's not that I don't know that I live hand to mouth or whatever. It's not even like that. Um, but I feel, um, I have to do, or I have to keep jobs that I don't really like.
So basically that topic money is connected to, you have to do something you don't like. You have to hold that up. If you let it go. You will have financial problems. Mm hmm. Yeah. Exactly. Okay. So I'm going to ask you just for a moment to breathe. And I love your self awareness. I love your self awareness.
And so I'm going to ask you to breathe. And first and foremost, if I ask you, let's go, give me one second. I want to decide which way. Um, okay. So let's do this first and foremost. We're going to, we're going to go at this at a couple of different angles, but, um, so I'm gonna ask you just for a moment to breathe.
And if I ask you what you do in your job, does it in some way help somebody else? Yes. Okay. And what does it entail? What does it do for other people?
Uh, like I, I work in the, like in the pharmaceutical field. Okay. Yeah, sure. It helps people, you know, um, when they're sick. Um, and directly my job helps people, um, or my colleagues do certain things or don't have to worry about certain things because I do them because it's my job to do them. Yeah. Okay. So I'm gonna ask you just for a moment to breathe.
And if I ask you how much guilt you feel about working in pharmaceuticals, what would you say? A hundred and ten.
I'm gonna ask you to breathe. Now, I want you to think about this for a moment. Have you ever heard before, maybe this has happened to you, have you ever gotten a flat tire and you had to put one of those, like, I don't know, back when they used like the smaller tire on it, the donut spare tire or whatever on it for a temporary time?
Have you ever done that or seen somebody who had that? No, I've seen it. Yeah. Sure. You've seen it. Now I think everything's run flats, right? Where it's the, it's just, I don't know, but anyways, so are the spare tire or whatever, but you've seen that right now. That wasn't the perfect solution, but at least it helped people to get their destination.
Right. So my point is, you know, if somebody drives around with one of those tires on for a long period of time and they drive around with those for a long period of time, it's probably going to ruin their car. I would assume or something. It's not good for it. Right. Right. Right. Right. But at least at the time, if they had a flat tire, at least it helps them to keep going so they can still, you know, get off the freeway or whatever.
It helps them so they're not stranded, right? Mm hmm. So I'm gonna ask you to breathe. And what if you didn't have to feel guilty about your job? And what if you didn't have to feel badly about it at all? And just, I'm going to ask you just for a moment to take this in. What if you didn't have to feel guilty?
And obviously I am not somebody who is, I have not taken any type of pharmaceutical, anything since my, since I got better, not a single aspirin, not anything. So, um, um, nothing. Uh, since what, 2009? So, uh, so I, I'm not saying that I'm saying to do that. I'm just saying what if it's a patch kinda like this. I was on a lot of medication during my injury and yeah, let's say that it.
As you can tell, I have mixed emotions about it because the truth of it is, I think some of it helped sustain me through that period of time and also there was like a medication that I was on that then was taken off the market because it was negatively impacting people and that was a little bit scary at the time of going, Oh my God.
So it just, so there's, so there's both and that's, what's true and that's, and so if we just. Look at what's true for a moment. We can look at it and we can say that our pharmaceutical is perfect and great and wonderful and going to help everybody and do incredible things. And they'd have no side effects.
Well, that's not true. We know they have side effects. We know they can be detrimental to your health. We know that's not great. And we can also, if we're just going to be honest, we can look at the other side and say, okay, that if somebody's in a pinch who really needs it, that there's something there. It's kind of like, um, you know, if, if somebody drinks vodka, then they're going to be inebriated or whatnot.
So things that we do consume definitely affect us, right? So put it this way, if they were used for very short term purposes, or only if needed, would you, instead of hating pharmaceuticals, And instead of feeling guilty, would you actually feel like, okay, like, would you feel more okay with your job? I don't think so because the problem I have with the job is not so much that we have to take or we decide to take, um, pharmaceuticals or pills every now and then.
The problem I do have with the job is the testing on animals. Okay, so I want you to show you something real quick. Okay, so watch this. So ask you to breathe and if I ask you to notice your level of pain right now, zero to ten, what's your level? I don't feel it right now because I'm not moving. But notice it was a six, correct?
Okay, and now you don't feel it, right? Right. Okay, so you see the difference, right? So my point, I would say that there's multiple things that are impacting. Does that make sense? So this is what happened to let you know is when I said to you, okay, let's do this. If I ask you right now, do you feel the same about your job as you did 10 minutes ago?
Do you feel a bit better about it or do you feel worse about it right now? I don't feel worse, that's for sure. I feel a little bit relieved for some reason. Bingo. Bingo. I would say emotional relief is about a level six. And I would say part of it is this also, is if I ask you how much you fear that people will judge you for what you do, what would you say?
I'm judging myself. That's the problem. I would agree. I would agree. Okay. Okay. So. If you think about it for a moment, I'm going to ask you to breathe. And I'm going to ask you to think about what it would look like if you could stop judging yourself at all. Now, so if we go back to that example of somebody having a spare tire on their car for a minute or whatever, if somebody is really upset about it and so upset about it and so upset about it, they can't focus on the solution of where they do want to go.
So my point is, Is what would happen if you stop feeling bad about yourself? Like stop feeling bad, stop judging and criticizing yourself. What would happen? What would that look like? Oh, what I feel is again, like a sense of relief. Okay. Now I'm going to ask you to breathe and I want you to notice also the part of you who has a strong judger who also judges others a lot.
Can you see that? Absolutely. Absolutely, right? Okay, so this is what happens. So, I love your self awareness. I love your self awareness. Now, this is what happens, is if you're judging others and judging others, then you're going to keep judging yourself, too. So, part of the solution is also changing your judgment towards others.
Does that make sense? Mm hmm. Okay. Yes. Great, so I'm gonna ask you to breathe.
All right, so let's go ahead and pause the session right here Just because this topic is so important and likely more important than most people realize And so, you know first and foremost, I do want to say I love our volunteer great self awareness great self honesty just a beautiful beautiful being And if you think about the theme of today's episode, we've been talking about even the very beginning, we were talking about subtle emotions that I started realizing and having the awareness that these subtle thoughts, subtle emotions actually were important.
And that's also true with feelings of judgment or criticism. And so the reason that I want to pause this session right here is because this is a growing issue in our culture. You know, more and more people are judging each other, are criticizing, are online attacking one another. And that energy is not good for our collective energy, the collective consciousness, absolutely not a great thing.
And Not only that, but it absolutely does impact people's health, people's life, people's happiness. The problem is, is that most people don't realize that it's impacting them. And so that's what I want to invite you to look at today is. If your mind is working in this way, because that energy, you, you don't want that energy.
And by the way, I'm not somebody who's saying, Hey, let's just bypass everything, you know? I mean, there are instances where people have done things that they're just not safe for our communities anymore. And they do need to be. Incarcerated, you know, but even the energy on that, you know, thinking about, okay, well, somebody, if they need to be incarcerated, then thinking about from that place and saying, okay, well, let's, you know, to me, it's like a segregation, like we're separating them because they're not safe for our communities and not coming from a place of feeling like, okay, well, I want to punish them.
I want to attack them. I want to, you know, having all that. Energy, all of those emotions, not having all of that, but from a place of intelligence, you know, of saying, okay, look it, this person does need to be separated from our communities. They're a person who's not in good integrity. They're not safe for our communities and coming from that place.
Anything other than that, like if you're feeling full of, you know, rage or upset or judgments or criticism or fault finding just in the day to day stuff of other people's behavior or whatever it is. You want to definitely change that. Now, of course, on next week's episode, we're going to talk even more about some ways to change that.
Some expansive thinking, some positive thinking, some moving towards solutions, not sitting in the problem or the negativity. So, that is important. However, let's also be honest for a moment, that a lot of times when there is judgments or fault finding or criticism in others, it's not about one situation.
It's a patterned way of thinking and feeling. And that's the reason that I want to pause it here. So, again, next, on the next episode, on the other part of this session, we are going to delve into unpacking even more. Um, how to change a situation or expanded way of thinking in it and, and shifting it and transforming it and, and all of that.
And it's fun because I love where we're going on the next part of the session. It's a pattern way of thinking. And by the way, just kind of a note on that all of the time, I'll see people who go to change a particular situation in their life. It's like the pattern continues to show up multiple places over and over and over again, and that's what happens even with judgments or fault finding or criticism.
You might find a situation where you think to yourself, Oh, well, let me have judgment and criticism and fault finding towards that, and you feel good about it. But then it goes to another one and another one and another one and another because the brain is programmed to feel and be in that way, and so.
That's the reason that I also wanted to pause that for a moment is I want to invite you to reflect on your own way of thinking and notice is fault finding or judging others Is it a patterned way of thinking? And if so, I would strongly encourage you to look at that and see that it's important because it is it can Definitely impact your happiness your health your life what you're manifesting and I see it all of the time And so that said, I want to invite you to look at this in your own life.
And if it is something that you've been doing, I want to invite you to look at transforming it and be willing to change that way of thinking. And part of the reason, by the way, also that I'm emphasizing this is because all too often I'll see people who are waking up to more and more awareness or spiritual practices, or even have been on the spiritual journey for 10, 20, 50 years.
And what happens is the more they see in life and the more they wake up. The more they start to judge others, which then keeps them from manifesting their happiness, health, all of these things, because they're in such a state of judgments towards others, fault finding, et cetera, et cetera. And so again, Going back to the theme of today's episode, which has to do with subtle emotions or emotions we don't realize can impact us.
And this is definitely, definitely one of them. And so that's the insight from today's episode. I want to invite you to look at this in your life and if it is an issue. I invite you to definitely work on transforming it. All right. So that said, it has been such a pleasure connecting with you. And as always, I want to ask you to please do make a point to hit the share button on this episode.
You know, share it with somebody you love, somebody you care about, or somebody you don't even know, because the more happy and healthy. and healed that every single person is, the better this world is for all of us. And of course the higher vibration energy for our planet. And that's a great thing. So please do make a point to hit the share button and please do make a point to have a most wonderful, fantastic rest of your day.
I look forward to connecting with you on the next episode. We'll see you there.
