Hello, and Welcome to this week's quick IQ episode, where we talk about insights and questions. And today I want to talk about the topic of loneliness because it is a growing epidemic, which when you stop and think about it for a moment, I mean, there are eight. billion people on the planet. So there are more people than ever, and there are also more ways than ever to communicate, to travel, to connect with people, and yet loneliness is impacting so many people and it's really counterintuitive.

And so I want to take a moment and dive into that because a lot of times the very issue that's going on in the subconscious mind is so counterintuitive People don't realize that it's even impacting them. And so that's what I want to look at for a moment. You know, every single pattern, every relationship, every connection in our lives happens for a reason, even though most people don't even realize it.

You know, when you stop and think about the awareness of the woman with the abusive father, Who leaves him and finds the abusive boyfriend, boss, spouse, et cetera, et cetera. You know, that pattern can continue. And yet there are so many other patterns that are always going on. that aren't as obvious as that one is just because that one is so, you know, extreme and unfortunate and Of course because you can see it and so I want to take a moment to just really look at this pattern of loneliness because A lot of times, part of what is going on deep inside is that people will have patterns of feeling like it's bad to connect with others or that they shouldn't connect with others or they don't deserve love.

And now let's unpack this for a moment because most people won't see these patterns because they're so counterintuitive. But to give you an example, I worked with a woman previously who in second grade, she She was talking to her friend in class and the teacher caught her and so she got her name written up on the board for talking in class.

She was so embarrassed and humiliated and didn't want to really talk and connect with people, but she didn't even realize that that was impacting her. And so instead, you know, she grew up and she'd always had kind of some close friends, but she always felt a bit lonely, a bit disconnected, had a really hard time connecting with people.

And when I worked with her, this is what came up was that she had this feeling of feeling like she would get in trouble or it was something that she shouldn't do. And so that was running in her subconscious mind. Now, in other cases, I've worked with people who as a kid growing up, You know, maybe if they got in trouble with their siblings or trouble at school or something along those lines, then their punishment was They had to go to their room and be all by themselves.

And it was this isolating experience. And what happens is that got very much into their energy. And also there was a feeling, even growing up in their subconscious mind, that if they did something wrong, they then they needed to be isolated. And so what happens then, of course, if people have patterns of feeling guilty, even if they haven't done anything wrong, you know, if people have patterns of guilty or feeling bad, then there's a part of them that feels like they don't deserve.

And so you can see where I'm going with this, just that all of the time there are patterns of feeling like we're not allowed to have love or it is bad to love or bad to connect with people that a lot of times are hidden so deeply in the subconscious mind that disconnect people and isolate people. And by the way, that brings up a really important point.

And it's this, it's that if you are a parent, you'll want to make sure. That as far as a punishment for your kids, it's not something along the lines of isolation or having to be by themselves or taking away love in any way. And there's multiple reasons for that, you know, first and foremost, because patterns continue through our lives.

And so that is definitely a pattern that could continue. So that is one reason. Another reason. is because it's kind of like taking away food or water, if you will. You know, when you think about love, love is a need, you know, if infants don't get enough love, they can actually die or seniors lose love. They can actually die.

So we need love. And so we never want to have a punishment, take away love because Thinking in terms of patterns, people will punish themselves the way they learn to be punished as a kid. And so maybe you've done this, or again, maybe thinking about parenting, but what'll happen, you know, let's say somebody is 30 years old or 40 or 50 any age, but maybe they feel guilty about something.

And it might not even be something that they did wrong. You know, sometimes you can feel guilty for no reason or something small, but what can happen is that a person will feel as though they don't deserve love. And so they might sabotage their relationships, or in some cases, people have plenty of relationships and yet they feel alone because they don't really allow themselves to be alone.

to take in the feeling of love and feel it. And so this can show up in a variety of different ways. But my point, my key insight for today's quick IQ episode is this. It's that all of the time I'll see people who are hurting or lacking or feeling alone or disconnected, and yet inside their own subconscious mind, They have a feeling of not deserving love or feeling afraid to receive love, in which case it keeps them stuck in the same pattern.

And so I want to invite you to look at this in your life. And if any of this is something that you can see in your own energy, then if you can start bringing in a feeling, a feeling like love is safe and you are allowed to receive love and start bringing that in and feeling it and purposely filling yourself.

Up with love and even making a point to connect with others in a really loving way, because again, when you stop and think about it, we really need to shift the energy of loneliness in the planet and instead have stronger feelings of unity and community and connectedness. That's what we need. the direction that we need to head.

And of course, all change starts from within. And so that's the invitation and the insight today.
