The Story Begins
In 2005, everything changed.
After a car accident and a subsequent fall, Brandy found herself living with debilitating pain and physical limitations that completely changed her day-to-day life.
On her better days, she relied on a wheelchair, walker, or cane just to get around. On her worst days, the pain was so severe that she was confined to bed.
She went from doctor to doctor and specialist to specialist, searching for answers. She received multiple diagnoses and underwent a variety of treatments, procedures, injections, and therapies. When those didn't provide the results she desperately wanted, she explored alternative approaches too, from acupuncture and nutrition to supplements and other healing modalities.
But despite everything she tried, the pain remained.
Eventually, Brandy became fascinated by research showing that the mind could influence the physical body. The placebo effect especially caught her attention.
If the mind really had the ability to affect the body, could she somehow learn to use that ability intentionally?
That question gave her hope. So she committed herself to working with her mind. She meditated for hours. She visualized herself healed. She practiced affirmations and gratitude. She focused on feeling as though her body was already healthy.
She was doing everything she thought she was supposed to do.
And still, she wasn't healing.
