Hello and welcome to this week's quick IQ episode where we talk about insights and questions. And today I wanna share with you a question that I get all of the time. In fact, the very reason this. Question is coming up is because last week I was out with some friends having a really wonderful dinner and we were talking about all kinds of things.

And one of the things that came up was the topic of emotions and feelings and what is the difference? And all of the time people ask that very thing. You know, what is the difference between an emotion and a feeling? And that's what we're going to dive into. And I got to say, you know, there are some things that are going to be important.

And I'll share those things with you, but there are also technicalities about the difference between emotions and feelings that aren't that important. And for a lot of people, they'll keep you stuck in your head. And so we're going to just unpack this topic just because the topic comes up. All of the time.

And by the way, if you've ever Googled this topic before, you'll find that there's a lot of conflicting information, which is part of the reason that everybody is always asking the question, what is the difference? Now, something you'll notice as we dive in is that. If you've gotten a definition on this topic before, then likely what you're going to hear today here is going to be different, just like everything else we do on the podcast, it's different than you've seen anywhere else.

You know, I mean, uh, taking people and releasing pain in a matter of minutes using only the mind is pretty incredible and it's. It's something that I started doing just because I look at the mind in a different way. And so we are, we're going to look at the difference between emotions and feelings in a different way.

Now, the way that I would encourage you to look at the difference is like this, is starting with the five senses. You know, if you remember from elementary school, we learned that our five senses are vision and hearing, touch, smell, and taste. Right? So we know that. Now, touch. What is touch? Touch is feeling.

And so if we think about feelings for a moment, the simple definition. is what we can feel about our emotions. So if we look at emotions, what are emotions? I would say emotions are our internal mind programming. That is our energy in motion. That is our emotional energy. So our synapse, our neurons, this, this is the programming that's in our mind.

So this is our energy in motion in our body. You know, if you love the sunset, that's your energy in motion. That's your emotion towards the sunset. If you are mad at your spouse, then that is your emotion. That is your energy in motion towards your spouse. So that is your energy. So our emotions are energy in motion.

Now, of course, We can have suppressed emotions. So if you have an emotion about something that happened when you were seven and you've suppressed it, well, you still have that emotion. You still have that energy in motion. So you still have the emotion buried in your subconscious mind, though you may not feel it.

And so to me, that is the difference of feeling is something that we. So it's like a sense. We can sense the emotion. So to me, that's the difference between emotions and feelings. And so really when you stop and think about it, they're one in the same. It, the difference is, can you feel the emotion or not?

And even if you think about a simple example, if you think about an apple, you may have feelings about it, that you love it. Or you may have feelings about it that you don't like it. But as you go through your average day, likely. You're not feeling a bunch of emotions about apples, unless, of course, you pick up an apple and then in that moment, now you're feeling that emotion.

And so again, just keeping it simple, that is key. If you think about it for a moment, even if you think about, again, in past episodes where People are shifting and releasing their pain or their health issues or all kinds of things. You know, there's a woman who was able to shift back her eyesight. I mean, there's all kinds of things that we are capable of with our own minds.

However, And if you get too caught up in the technical, it'll keep you from getting results. And so what you really want to know about this topic is this, is that you have emotions about everything in life. And a lot of times you don't necessarily feel Those emotions, so they're not feelings unless you're feeling them, but you're, you have these emotions and they're buried in your subconscious mind and they're there and it is your energy in motion that is going on all of the time.

Whether or not you are consciously feeling it. And so that's also the reason that a lot of times you'll hear with volunteers, when I bring up a certain topic, they may say something like, wow, I didn't even realize that was bothering me. And that's exactly the point. And that's exactly what you'll want to know is that all of the time, the very thing that is stopping somebody from healing themselves, from changing their lives, from changing their relationships or falling in love or whatever that may be.

A lot of times it's an emotion that they can't even feel that is there. So it's in the subconscious mind. And so what happens is even though the emotion is there, They're not feeling it, so it's not in their awareness or they're not consciously feeling it, or even if they are feeling it, even if the feeling does come up.

Sometimes what also happens is that we can have so many feelings that a person can feel overwhelmed or feel heavy or feel inundated by all of these. Emotions that it becomes hard to distinguish one emotion from another. And then what has to happen is to really transform that. You really need to start understanding what it is you're feeling and the deeper subconscious emotions and start transforming the emotions and that's when it can help you to feel better because you are clearing out the subconscious emotions.

So I know this can feel a bit complex, but that is the simplified version of And again, you won't want to get caught up in the technical. The biggest things you'll want to know is that you have subconscious links to everything and that as you clear them out, as you transform them, as you lift them, as you reprogram your emotions, you change your energy, you change the way you feel and you change your life.

And by the way. One thing that I hear people say all of the time, you know, we've all heard the saying before that time heals all wounds, or if something's really painful, just give it time. And the thing of it is, is if time was the biggest healer, then nobody would be repeating patterns from their childhood, and nobody would still feel hurt from their childhood.

But that's not true. What happens is time doesn't heal these feelings. What it does is is time gives us time to bury them and to get used to them. And the easiest way to think about it is this, is, you know, if you put on a different piece of clothing that you're not used to wearing, such as like a necktie or even a high collared shirt or turtleneck or something like that, when you first do.

It can feel as though it's choking you, you know, you're like, get this thing off of my neck. But what happens is that after a while, if you continue to wear that same type of clothing, you get used to it. And so a lot of times what happens with negative emotions is people will get used to feeling heavy.

So it just becomes their new norm. And so you'll also want to notice if that's true in your life. And if so, you'll want to radically change it. And that has to do with, of course, addressing what are your emotions? What are the subconscious links and connections? What is programmed deeper? into your mind and genuinely transform those.

And of course, as you do, that's when you feel better. That's when you can heal yourself, change your life, change your relationships or your habits or your patterns or just your life, you know? So it's truly incredible. What we're capable of as we learn to understand how to master our minds and our energy and our feelings.

So that said, the takeaway that I want to invite you to just bring in the awareness of what it would feel like to even practice feeling better, to practice feeling happier, to practice feeling lifted. Because what happens is as you practice feeling in a new way, and you practice Feeling in a new way. And you practice feeling in a new way, it starts to get programmed into your subconscious mind and your emotions.

It becomes part of who you are and how you feel on a regular basis. And so that's today's quick IQ episode. And as always, I want to ask you to please do make a point to hit.
