Sometimes we learn the most from a simple hands-on experience. That's one of the many things that are really profound about today's episode is that all of the time, Brandy mentions how the more she was able to get clear with her mind on what she needed to do, the easier it was for her to be able to heal herself.
In today's episode, Brandy shares a simple three-minute exercise that is both silly and extremely significant. This exercise can help you gain even more clarity and understanding of mind-body healing, how it works, and how to hack the process to get radical results in your life.

Welcome to Heal Yourself, Change Your Life. My name is Brandy Gillmore. And after recovering from my own life-changing injury, it’s become my mission to share with others the same discoveries I made that changed my health and my entire life. Our minds are truly incredible. The placebo is proof of this.
Each week, I will take this simple awareness to a whole new level. I will even coach live callers to free themselves of physical pain using only their mind. And then I’ll provide you with a combination of practical and spiritual insights that you can use to master your mind, your emotions, and your energy—to help you heal your health, yourself, and your life.
Let’s begin.
Hello, and welcome to this week’s Quick IQ Episode, where we talk about insights and questions. Today, I want to share with you a very powerful insight that helped me understand how to get radical healing results. We’ll also do a quick—but silly—exercise that can help you gain even more clarity. Because, truly, going through my injury, there were pivotal insights that became breakthroughs. They gave me more clarity, a deeper perspective, and a greater understanding of what I needed to do to radically heal myself.
At that time, I had been doing all of the things—you know, the affirmations, the meditations, the guided meditations, the silent meditations, the binaural beats, the frequencies, the theta state, the delta state—all of the things. And while all of those practices can be great, they weren’t working to genuinely heal my body or transform my life.
Don’t get me wrong—there were moments when I could get my pain down, or see signs, synchronicities, or small shifts—but it didn’t truly change my life or heal my body until I started working with my mind in a completely different way. And that’s what I want to illustrate for you today.
Now, I warn you ahead of time—this exercise is silly. It’s ridiculous, and it’s also profound. I’ll explain the three reasons why right after we do it. So let’s begin.
I invite you to close your eyes for a moment and take a nice deep breath. Now, imagine that someone you love is making you your favorite meal. Picture that—someone you love, cooking just for you, preparing your favorite dish. Notice how that feels. Bring that feeling in—how warm, loving, and beautiful that energy feels.
Now, just take that vision and gently send it into the energy around you—perhaps you’re cooking for someone, or they’re cooking for you—it’s loving, sweet, and beautiful. Then, lovingly, let that vision go.
Now we’re going to shift gears completely—to something totally different. And remember, this next part is silly—but it’s also where the insight comes in.
So now, imagine this: You’re holding a spoon. And with that spoon, you scoop up a big spoonful of… worms. You take that spoon toward your mouth as if you’re about to eat it.
Okay, delete, delete, delete. Let’s stop right there. I know—that was gross. But there are three powerful reasons why this is actually profound for understanding your mind and healing.
If your immediate reaction was “Ew, that’s disgusting,” that’s not an innate reflex—it’s mind programming. Our ancestors taught us that worms are unclean, unsafe, or unpleasant. That emotional reaction isn’t built-in; it’s learned. Which means your brain can hold powerful emotional associations—both positive and negative—completely automatically.
If you really visualized that scene deeply, you may have even felt like gagging or cringing. That right there shows how subconscious emotions can trigger the physical body. Even though nothing actually happened, your brain still sent signals to your body based on imagination alone.
This is a clear example of how the mind and body are connected—and how imagined emotions can affect real physical responses. Throughout the day, we might have hundreds of thoughts or feelings—fearful, guilty, anxious—that create similar physiological responses without us realizing it.
Now, the third insight is this: You could meditate for 10, 20, even 30 years—and that “gross” feeling about worms would still be there. I know, because I’ve meditated for over five years during my healing journey, and even now, if I imagine eating worms, I still feel that same reaction. It’s still in my brain.
And that’s the point: Deep emotional and subconscious programming doesn’t disappear just by meditating. To heal, we must identify and change the specific subconscious patterns that are causing triggers in the body. That’s exactly how I was able to achieve radical healing results—and what I help others do as well.
When you’ve seen me work with people under medical equipment—showing how they can release pain using only their mind within 20 or 30 minutes—this is what’s happening. I’m helping them identify and change the specific subconscious emotions that are affecting their body.
Just as imagining worms can make you feel disgusted or nauseous, other emotional patterns—such as guilt, fear, or undeserving—can affect pain, illness, or energy levels. When we pinpoint and shift those exact emotions, the body responds. That’s when radical healing begins.
This example is, of course, a very simplified illustration. Real health issues usually involve multiple emotional components—perhaps five, eight, or even ten different triggers working together. That’s why it can sometimes feel complex. But understanding this concept helps you gain clarity on what truly needs to change for healing to happen.
In my own healing journey, once I stopped chasing every new method and started getting laser-focused on emotional clarity and results, everything changed. I realized that identifying and transforming my core subconscious patterns was the key.
So here’s your quick insight from today’s episode: you don’t want to delve into negative emotions—especially if they’re affecting your body. Instead, make it your goal to stay out of the negative. When you notice yourself feeling off, gently lift your energy. Change your emotional state. Start training your brain to stay in the positive, and keep reinforcing that shift.
That simple daily practice can begin to change the way your mind and body respond—and help you create real transformation in your health and life.
It’s been such a pleasure connecting with you today. I want to invite you to please take a quick moment to hit the share button on this episode—share it with someone you love, someone you care about, or even someone you don’t know. Because the more every person in this world is happy, healthy, loved, and loving—the better our world becomes for all of us.
Please do make a point to have a most wonderful, beautiful, and empowered rest of your day. And I look forward to connecting with you on the next episode. We’ll see you there.
