Welcome to Heal Yourself, Change Your Life. My name is Brandy Gillmore, and after recovering from my own life changing injury, it's become my mission to share with others the same discoveries I made. that changed my health and my entire life. Our minds are truly incredible. The placebo is proof of this.
Each week I will take this simple awareness to a whole new level. I will even coach live callers to free themselves of physical pain using only their mind. And then I'll provide you with a combination of practical and spiritual insights that you can use to master your mind and body. Your emotions and your energy to help you heal your health, yourself and your life.
Let's begin.
Hello, and welcome to this week's quick IQ episode. Where we talk about insights and questions. And today I want to share with you an insight about the big picture, if you will, just kind of taking a step back because sometimes it's easy to get caught up in the details, but sometimes it's hard to see the forest.
From the tree, if you've ever heard that saying before, you know, sometimes it's good to just take a bigger picture, look at life and at patterns, because there are sometimes patterns of being or feeling in our culture that are easy to get sucked into. You know, for example, a lot of people will get sucked into this story of fear, if you will.
You know, there's always. Some reason that you can watch the news or watch this or that, and you get sucked into fear based thinking. And that of course is a very obvious pattern that we'll see in our culture. But there are also some other patterns that if we take a step back and look, we can see the bigger picture.
And look at not getting sucked into these patterns. I have worked with people from a variety of walks of life. From people who are in a place in life where they're taking their life to the next level, and whatever that looks like for them. You know, their relationship, their love, getting married, loving life, or even, you know, making hundreds of millions of dollars, or considered celebrities, or professional athletes, or Even people who are in their hardest point in life, struggling to get by, you know, struggling where I was or in a much worse situation than I was even, you know, and just struggling in a bad place in every sense of the word.
And there's obviously some major contrasts between these places. And by the way, I've worked with people who were very successful, who had been very successful, who were in a downward spiral, who were sick and losing money and losing the things that they wanted and, you know, just all kinds of places in life.
And this is what you want to know if we look at the big picture. Is that A lot of times people can get sucked into a negative place where they're in fear based thinking or even in revenge thinking or attack thinking or cynical or critical or judgmental thinking. And that is the reason that I bring this up is because let's be honest, if we look around in our culture, there's some emotional patterns of of being critical of others or judgmental of others that is increased exponentially.
You know, we have cancel culture and people judging this or feeling easily offended for so many different reasons. And those emotions, those patterns can negatively impact your health, your life, your happiness, the direction of your life. And so, um, That's really part of what I wanted to highlight today is exactly that, because sometimes what'll happen is as people are pointing out criticisms or judgments in other people, they don't realize that it affects their own health.
They don't realize that it negatively impacts their own life. And what can happen is some people might feel righteous for it. They feel like, well, I'm superior because you did this. And so it's like a social fault finding, if you will, in others. Now, let's be honest for a moment. I mean, we're human beings.
We're not perfect. Even if we think about the example you may have heard me use before, but when we learn how to walk as a kid, what do we do? We stand and we fall and we stand and we fall and then we get back up and before you know it, we're two years old and we're running around and getting into everything, right?
Or even when we learn how to read. What do we do? We say some words, we say them wrong, we stutter a few times, and then eventually, we figure it out. And then before you know it, we can read and write, or, you know, the same is true with riding a bike. We fall off our bike a few times and we figure it out, then we learn how to ride our bikes.
And so my point being is, we as human beings aren't perfect, and of course we are perfect, right? But we're learning machines. You know, we do make mistakes and then we learn and we course correct and we do better. And ultimately that level of being able to have some acceptance for others and not fault find in others and not be critical or cynical towards others is so important.
And so I just really wanted to highlight that in the big picture because I would say a lot of the feelings that I'm seeing that are breeding, um, Problems in people's lives are when they're fault finding in others and feeling righteous or feeling superior for doing so, or judgmental, you know, it's like they get sucked in to the chaos of it all to the emotional rollercoaster of it all.
And so that said, going back to the point of today's IQ episode is to really take a step back and look at the big picture. picture of life and to rise above all of that stuff, the criticism, the cynical, the judgmental, the fear, the chaos, all of that stuff. And instead really work to lift your own energy, to be in that energy of healing, of growing, of transforming.
And by the way, the reason that I really wanted to mention this is because it's easy to get sucked in. Because I know during my injury, I was sucked into fear and stress and the negativity of it all. And, you know, using that same saying, I couldn't see the forest from the trees. You know, it's like when you're in it and you get sucked in.
You don't see it so clearly, at least I didn't at the time and I see that from a lot of people because your mind is triggered and full of emotions and this, that, the other. And also what's tricky about the cultural patterns that are going on right now is that a lot of times people will feel good or righteous for attacking others or for fault finding in others.
But the problem is, is it just. sucks them in. And so I have seen people who have lost themselves in these patterns, you know, where they're on this mission to do what feels good and to do what's right and to do the right thing, but they don't realize that in attacking others or fault finding in others or being critical of others or judgmental, that it's actually creating a lot of negative energy in their own life.
And it becomes like this hidden spiral. that affects them. So it's kind of sneaky, if you will, because it's like the brain thinks it's doing the right thing. And so for that reason, I just wanted to take a moment and point that out because let's be honest. It's all around us. I mean, we can see it in politics.
We see it in our culture, our everywhere. It's just, it's It's a growing theme and what you'll want to remember to remember is to put your energy towards what you do want and really fuel that and to stay out of the negative because it really can suck you in and affect you in multiple ways. And so that's today's quick IQ episode is exactly that is watch out for this.
sneaky pattern. And by the way, if you notice that you've been in these patterns, I would invite you to take a week or two and just notice what happens if you work to really stay out of them. If you notice yourself criticizing or fault finding or judging or being cynical about some thing and venting about it, being upset, about it or easily offended by something, see what it would look like to decide to take a different approach and just see what that looks like.
See what that feels like in your life, because as you start to shift that energy, it can also help to start clearing your life. and your mindset and manifesting better things in your life as well. So it's just a much different energy that can help you to really shift towards the positive. And so that's today's quick IQ episode.
And as always, I want to ask you to please do make a point to hit the share button on this episode. You know, share it with somebody you love, somebody you care about, or somebody you don't even know, because the more happy you healthy that every single person is in our world, the better this world is for all of us.
And so please do make a point to have a most wonderful rest of your day, making a point to stay in the positive and lifting above the social chaos and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. That might be around and the negativity to really take your mind, your health, your happiness, your love, your connection with universe.
