Welcome to Heal Yourself, Change Your Life. My name is Brandy Gillmore. And after recovering from my own life-changing injury, it’s become my mission to share with others the same discoveries I made that changed my health and my entire life. Our minds are truly incredible. The placebo is proof of this.
Each week, I will take this simple awareness to a whole new level. I will even coach live callers to free themselves of physical pain using only their mind. And then I’ll provide you with a combination of practical and spiritual insights that you can use to help you master your mind, your emotions, and your energy—to help you heal your health, yourself, and your life.
Let’s begin.
Hello, and welcome to this week’s Quick IQ episode, where we talk about insights and questions. Today, I want to share with you a very profound insight when it comes to creating lasting healing results—and really, lasting results in any area of your life. Whether it’s relationships, love and connection, success, happiness, or transforming your confidence and level of self-worth—any of those things—when it comes to creating real, lasting change, there’s one key element.
Creating Lasting Change in the Subconscious Mind
To create true transformation, it’s essential to make that shift within the subconscious mind. You must get the new information—the new patterns, beliefs, and emotional associations—programmed into your subconscious.
Now, this is where many people get hung up. Often, people think they already know what’s in their subconscious mind. They feel certain they understand what they’re really feeling. But when we stop and think about it for a moment, the truth is: by its very nature, the subconscious is below consciousness. It’s the part of the mind that we cannot fully see.
So, by definition, there will always be things hidden from our conscious awareness. That’s why the more you realize that you don’t know what’s in your subconscious, the better off you actually are—because it keeps your mind open and curious. That curiosity allows your mind to explore more deeply what else might be influencing your emotions, your health, and your behaviors. And from that openness, you can start to create genuine, lasting change.
Lessons from Episode 226: Julie’s Incredible Transformation
Part of the reason this awareness comes up today is because of Episode 226. In that episode, I worked with our beautiful volunteer, Julie—a smart, loving, and wonderful being. She was able to use her own mind to release her pain. She took her pain from a level seven to nearly gone—and she did it very fast.
It happened so quickly that she was absolutely awestruck. She didn’t even know what to say. It surprised her—and I loved that moment. But as you’ll recall, during that session, Julie couldn’t actually see the specific emotions that were connected to her pain. It was below her conscious awareness. And that’s very common.
Hidden Emotions and the Subconscious
That same thing was true in my own journey. If you had asked me years ago whether I had fear or other underlying negative emotions, I would have said, “No, of course not.” Because I didn’t know they were there. They were buried deep beneath my awareness. It took me a long time to really figure out what was happening and how those emotions worked.
And what’s fascinating is that these buried emotions often don’t make logical sense. I’m a very logical person, so when I began to discover emotions that didn’t align with reason, it was confusing. I expected that if I had fear, I would feel something intense. But subconscious emotions don’t always present that way. They’re often subtle—little thoughts, small tensions, or faint emotional undercurrents. And because they’re subtle, we tend to dismiss them as unimportant.
The Power of Recognizing Subtle Emotions
You’ll hear me say this often: one of the biggest turning points in my own healing was realizing that if I had a subtle emotion last week, and the week before that, and the week before that—it could only mean one thing: that emotion was stored in my subconscious mind. And that means it was continuously influencing me, my energy, and my body.
This awareness is key. When you understand that these subtle, recurring feelings are part of your subconscious programming, you realize that they can affect every area of your life—your health, your relationships, even your success and happiness.
So I invite you to consider your own life. Be open to the idea that there are subconscious emotions guiding or influencing you. The more you’re genuinely willing to identify and transform those hidden emotions, the more powerful your results will be.
Real Change Requires Real Follow-Through
Going back to our volunteer, Julie—she shifted her pain very quickly, but as I mentioned at the end of that episode, I told her something important: she needed to follow through. Because if she didn’t, her pain would likely come back—and she might not even recognize why.
And that’s exactly what happened. The next day, her pain returned. But the beautiful part is that she remembered what we discussed. She reinforced the same emotional pattern and mindset we had worked on, and she was able to release her pain again. That’s powerful.
The reason I share this is to highlight that lasting change requires true emotional transformation. You must connect with what’s really happening in your subconscious mind. That doesn’t mean it has to take years or even months—it can happen quickly. I’ve seen people shift in a single session.
Examples of Rapid Transformation
Think back to Episode 10, where a woman had a tumor in her throat—her transformation happened incredibly fast. Or the video on my website under “See Live Healing.” You can actually see, through medical thermal imaging, a woman releasing her neck pain in real time. That was more than eight years ago, and her pain never came back after that one session.
So, no—it doesn’t have to take a long time. But it does require real change. And you’ll hear me say this over and over again: if you want real results, you must create real change at the subconscious level.
Getting in Touch with Your Emotions
Now, if you’re someone who feels out of touch with your emotions, I completely understand. That was me. I had to learn how to reconnect with my emotions in a healthy, positive way. And that’s exactly what I want to invite you to begin doing in today’s episode.
Start by thinking about positive experiences in your life—moments that made you feel joy, love, gratitude, or excitement. Then, as you recall those experiences, notice how they feel in your body. The goal here is not to dig into pain or negativity, but to strengthen your connection to emotional awareness in a positive, uplifting way.
The more you build this connection, the easier it becomes to access and understand your subconscious mind. And when you do it from a positive emotional space, you’re creating a safe and empowering way to grow your self-awareness and begin transforming at a deeper level.
Building a Positive Connection with Your Subconscious Mind
As you begin exploring your emotions in this way, it’s important to understand that the goal isn’t to dive into negative feelings or dig up old pain. If you continuously connect with anger, fear, or sadness, you could accidentally strengthen those emotions. Instead, we want to build a connection that uplifts and empowers you.
So as you think about the subconscious mind and the importance of being more in touch with it, there’s a fun and powerful way to develop that skill. It starts with focusing on positive memories and emotions—recalling uplifting events and allowing yourself to feel those feelings again, fully and deeply.
Take time to notice how good that feels. Feel the joy, the love, the laughter, the sense of connection. Allow yourself to recognize that these beautiful, positive emotions are also stored in your subconscious mind—and the more you access them, the stronger that connection becomes.
Strengthening the Mind–Body Connection
As simple as this may sound, it’s actually profound. The more you access your subconscious mind—through positive experiences, through emotional awareness—the better you get at it. It’s just like any other skill. The more you practice driving a car, writing, or typing, the better you become.
In the same way, the more you practice connecting consciously with your emotions, the more natural it becomes to understand and reshape your subconscious patterns. That’s when you can begin creating a true, lasting transformation in your health, happiness, and life.
Developing Your Emotional Awareness as a Daily Practice
So, in short, today’s Quick IQ episode is all about developing yourself—strengthening the connection between your conscious and subconscious mind. The more familiar you become with your emotional world, the easier it is to access and reshape it in a way that supports your well-being.
Remember, this doesn’t need to be complicated. It can be as simple as taking a few moments each day to recall something that made you smile, something that made your heart feel open or peaceful. These moments build emotional awareness and open a direct channel between your heart and your subconscious mind.
As you do this, you’re training yourself to notice what you feel—and that awareness is a skill that will support lasting change, not just in your health, but in your happiness, relationships, and overall quality of life.
Closing Thoughts
