Welcome to Heal Yourself, Change Your Life. My name is Brandy Gillmore, and after recovering from my own life-changing injury, it’s become my mission to share with others the same discoveries I made that changed my health and my entire life. Our minds are truly incredible — the placebo is proof of this.
Each week, I will take this simple awareness to a whole new level. I will even coach live callers to free themselves of physical pain using only their mind. Then I’ll provide you with a combination of practical and spiritual insights that you can use to master your mind, your emotions, and your energy to help you heal your health, yourself, and your life.
Let’s begin.
Creating Real Change That Leads to Real Results
Hello, and welcome to this week’s Quick IQ Episode, where we talk about insights and questions. Today, I want to share a very powerful insight when it comes to getting real healing results or creating real life-changing transformation — whether in healing, relationships, love, connection, or joy — truly in any area of life.
When we stop and look at how to create transformation, we really do need genuine change. And many times, that real change is deeper than people realize. What can happen is that a person can go through the steps of transformation, but still avoid actually changing — which may sound a bit complex at first, but let’s look at some examples to make this clear.
The Difference Between Knowing Change and Becoming Change
All the time, people see me demonstrate what appear to be radical results — showing others how to heal themselves, just as I was able to heal myself and transform my entire life. It may look easy, but there are real keys to creating that shift. It takes an authentic, deep change within.
In fact, in my last episode, I worked with our beautiful volunteer Suzette. I love her energy — she’s a brilliant woman, full of love for her husband, and such a beautiful being. What I appreciated most was her awareness. By the end of our session, she clearly recognized what she needed to change, and she said, “Okay, I see what I need to change. Now I’m going to really work on it.”
She had the awareness that she still needed to shift something inside herself — not because anything was “wrong” with her, but because genuine transformation is about changing how we feel and show up from the inside out.
Going Through the Motions Without Real Change
So many people, just like I once did, can think they’re changing — but aren’t truly changing who they are. For years, I was meditating, expanding my consciousness, thinking positively, visualizing for hours… but not shifting my consciousness in a real way. I was going through the motions of transformation without embodying it.
Let me give a simple example to illustrate this.
What Steve Jobs Teaches Us About Inner Transformation
If we look at Steve Jobs — a brilliant being and co-founder of Apple — we can see an interesting example. He meditated for decades, even traveled to India, practiced vegetarianism and other holistic approaches, and had access to the best medical treatments in the world. Yet, despite all of this, he didn’t heal.
Why? Because he didn’t genuinely change some of the inner emotional patterns that were influencing his life. He was known to be brilliant, yes, but also not always kind or compassionate toward others. There were stories of him taking credit for the work of Jonathan Ive, and regardless of the full truth, this shows something powerful: even with all the tools, if the internal patterns don’t shift, the results won’t either.
In my work, I call these patterns NPPs — Negative Punishment Patterns. They’re ways we subconsciously punish ourselves or others emotionally. And these patterns can directly impact health and healing.
Real Healing Requires Real Change
Even though Steve Jobs meditated, ate clean, and sought the best treatments, he didn’t create the emotional transformation that allows the body to heal. This is something I’ve seen over and over — people doing all the right things outwardly but missing the inner shift that changes everything.
I experienced this myself. For years, I meditated for hours, visualized, listened to theta and delta state audios — everything I could possibly try. Sometimes my pain would reduce, sometimes not. But once I stopped “checking out” through meditation and started checking in — identifying exactly what needed to change — everything began to shift.
Identifying the Real Root of Change
That realization came when I started looking deeply at phenomena like the placebo effect and multiple personality disorder — where the body can physically change based on mental and emotional states, without meditation. That showed me the body’s healing mechanism can be activated through real emotional and energetic transformation.
So when I work with volunteers now, that’s exactly what I help them do: get laser-focused on what’s really connected to their issue — and change it. That’s when the results come fast. I always say, “I make it look easy,” but it’s because it’s real change.
Are You Truly Changing or Just Going Through the Steps?
Sometimes, we can go through the steps — meditating, reading, journaling, doing affirmations — but not truly change. It’s easy to focus on healing the pain we feel, while overlooking the pain we might cause others through anger, frustration, or unkindness.
So another key question is: Are you genuinely changing how you treat others and how you show up? If there’s an area in your life where you’re out of integrity or reacting negatively, that can absolutely affect your energy and your health. When we all choose to treat one another with love and respect, this world becomes even more beautiful.
Powerful Questions to Ask Yourself
Here are a few questions to help you reflect:
- Am I really changing — not just thinking about change, but embodying it?
- Am I genuinely feeling different inside?
- Am I letting go of old wounds and truly transforming my perception?
- Do I want to change, fully and completely?
Because here’s the thing — sometimes part of us wants to change, and another part doesn’t. And if you’ve ever tried to change someone who doesn’t want to change, you know it doesn’t work. So if part of you resists transformation, that creates an inner conflict. That’s why rewiring the subconscious mind is so important — it aligns all parts of you toward one loving direction.
The Key to Transformation
Real transformation happens when you stop going through the motions and start truly changing who you are inside. It’s about embodying love, compassion, and integrity — not just practicing them mentally. That’s when your body, your emotions, and your life begin to heal in profound ways.
So ask yourself today: Am I really changing? Am I truly seeing things differently, feeling differently, and showing up differently in life? When you make that inner shift, everything begins to align.
