Quick IQ Episode: The Depth of Transformation Needed for True Healing
Welcome to Heal Yourself, Change Your Life. My name is Brandy Gillmore. After recovering from my own life-changing injury, it’s become my mission to share with others the same discoveries I made that transformed my health and my entire life. Our minds are truly incredible — and the placebo is proof of this.
Each week, I’ll take this simple awareness to a whole new level. I’ll even coach live callers to free themselves of physical pain using only their minds. Then I’ll provide you with a combination of practical and spiritual insights that you can use to master your mind, your emotions, and your energy — to help you heal your health, yourself, and your life.
Let’s begin.
Hello and welcome to this week’s Quick IQ episode, where we talk about insights and questions. Today I want to discuss the depth of healing that is so often overlooked when it comes to transformation and real, lasting results. This awareness is key — because it’s about understanding the depth of transformation that’s truly needed for change to hold.
Why True Healing Runs Deeper Than It Appears
All the time, you’ll hear me say that when I work with people, I make it look easy. Even when you’ve seen it under medical equipment — where I take someone in chronic pain or with various health conditions and show them how to use their own mind to create a radical shift in a short amount of time — it’s powerful. It’s incredible. But what’s happening beneath that transformation is much deeper than what meets the eye.
There’s an entire layer of understanding — a depth of subconscious transformation — that must take place to achieve lasting results. That’s what I want to emphasize today. And it begins with something I call emotion-controlled perception.
Understanding Emotion-Controlled Perception
Let me explain this in a simple way. When I was healing myself, after my recovery, I began changing my mindset and working on releasing fear from my subconscious mind. Now, if you had told me before my injury that I carried deep feelings of fear, I wouldn’t have believed you. It was buried so deeply that I had no awareness of it. I just thought, “That’s how the world is.”
And that’s exactly my point — our unconscious emotions and programming control our conscious perception. This is what I mean by emotion-controlled consciousness. As I healed and began transforming that subconscious programming, it was like a cloud lifted — from my life, from my perception of the world. Everything looked different.
There was a moment during my healing when I described it as feeling like someone from the 1400s suddenly stepping into the modern world. That’s how dramatic the change felt. The sky looked bluer than blue. Life felt vibrant and alive. It was as though I had stepped out of a dark fog without even realizing I’d been in one. That’s how powerful subconscious emotion is — it can completely shape how we see and experience life.
How Emotions Shape Perception
I know this might sound surreal, but let’s make it practical. We’ve all seen evidence of this in everyday life. For example, when someone is deeply in love, what do they see in their partner? All the beauty. All the goodness. But when that same person feels deep anger, what do they see? Every flaw. Every irritation.
This happens automatically. We don’t tell our brain, “Hey, only see the good things now,” or “Only see the bad things.” It’s our emotional state that controls our perception.
The same thing happens in other areas of life — like politics or family relationships. When people carry stored emotion or fear about a topic, their brain filters reality through that emotional lens. And this doesn’t just affect thoughts — it affects how we literally perceive the world.
The Hidden Patterns Within
As I continued to study the mind and work with people over the years, I realized this depth of emotional influence is crucial for true healing. It shows up in countless ways. For example, someone who carries deep guilt might subconsciously perceive life as punishing — full of worry and negativity — without even realizing it.
Going back to my own story, if someone had told me that I was living in fear before my injury, I would have disagreed. That was just my “normal.” It’s what I believed life was. And that’s what makes healing so tricky — because we can live in emotional patterns for so long that we stop recognizing them as patterns.
For example, a person might say, “That’s just how men are,” or “That’s just how love is,” or “That’s just how life works.” But these beliefs often come from subconscious programming — from emotional experiences we haven’t fully healed. And those emotions control the way we perceive and respond to life without our awareness.
The Depth of True Transformation
This understanding — emotion-controlled perception — was one of my biggest discoveries. It helped me see how subconscious emotions control consciousness without us even knowing it. And I’ve seen this repeatedly with clients over the years.
Sometimes people believe that an old experience — something with a parent, a past relationship, or a rejection — is gone. They’ve buried it so deeply that they think it no longer affects them. But it does. It still lives in the subconscious mind, shaping perception, energy, and even health.
And this doesn’t only happen with intense emotions like anger or fear. It can happen with subtle, buried feelings too. You don’t have to consciously feel guilt or fear for it to control your perception. It’s not about the surface intensity — it’s about the subconscious presence of that emotion in your energy field.
That’s why healing requires depth. It’s not just about thinking positive or meditating on peace. It’s about identifying and transforming the underlying emotional energy that shapes how we see, feel, and experience the world.
Seeing Life Through New Eyes
All the time, people see me work with volunteers on the podcast and watch them experience rapid transformation. It looks simple, and in many ways, it can be — but there is a depth to what’s actually happening beneath the surface.
When we make a real shift at that subconscious level, it changes everything — how we see ourselves, others, and the world. It opens our heart and expands our awareness. That’s when true healing begins.
I’ll share a personal moment that really captures this. After I healed myself and began building my strength, I decided one day to simply go for a walk downtown. As I walked, I looked up at the tall buildings, and tears of joy streamed down my face. I felt so alive — so deeply connected to life again. Watching people come out of buildings for lunch, feeling the hum of life around me, I just kept thinking, “Wow, I’m part of life again.”
I called a friend and said through happy tears, “Life is so beautiful!” It truly felt like seeing the world for the first time. Even though I’d seen tall buildings before — during all my hospital visits — I was seeing them through new eyes. That’s what happens when we release old emotions and shift our subconscious patterns. Life itself becomes brighter, richer, and more beautiful.
The Power of Shifting the Subconscious Mind
When you shift your subconscious emotions, it changes your entire perception of reality. It transforms your energy, your health, your relationships, and even how you feel about yourself. It’s not just about a mental change — it’s about an energetic and emotional rebirth.
This is why, when I work with volunteers on the show, you’ll see me help them identify those deeper emotional layers and shift them in real time. That’s when we see profound results — because the transformation is happening where it truly matters: at the subconscious level.
It’s also why I emphasize that even though the process looks easy, it’s supported by deep understanding and precise energy work. When we shift at the core, it becomes pivotal — not just for our health, but for how we experience life, love, and connection.
Why Buried Emotions Matter
Now, let’s address something important. I’ve had people ask me, “Why would you want to unbury emotions that someone felt a long time ago?” The reason is simple — those buried emotions still affect us. They hold energy. They create wounding in the subconscious mind. And they can influence our health, our happiness, and what we attract in life.
If we were to describe this from a more technical or psychological perspective, we could use terms like repetition compulsion, reenactment, attachment theory, or even law of attraction. But at its core, it’s all the same principle: patterns repeat until we heal them.
Even Freud spoke about how repressed emotions could shape behavior and well-being. His work wasn’t about physical healing — it was more focused on the emotional — but the awareness is parallel. Unconscious emotions can absolutely affect both mind and body. They influence what we perceive, how we react, and the results we manifest.
So, when we take the time to uncover and release those old emotional patterns — not to relive them, but to transform them — we open the door to true freedom. And that’s when our healing becomes deep, lasting, and life-changing.
Creating Lasting Transformation
When we fully embrace this depth of healing, everything shifts — our health, our relationships, and our consciousness. It’s not about surface-level positivity; it’s about true transformation from within. And that kind of change naturally becomes a part of who we are — an automatic part of our experience.
So I want to invite you today to reflect: whatever transformation you’re working on, ask yourself — Am I shifting my consciousness at a deeper level? Am I seeing, feeling, and perceiving in a new way? Is that new perspective becoming an automatic part of how I live and love and experience the world?
Because that’s where the real magic happens — when your inner transformation becomes your new normal.
Share the Light
That’s today’s Quick IQ episode. As always, I want to ask you to take a moment to share this episode — with someone you love, someone you care about, or even someone you don’t know personally. Because the more that every single person in this world feels happy, healthy, and loved, the better life becomes for all of us.
So please, hit that share button — and make a point to have a most wonderful, happy, healthy, loving rest of your day. I look forward to connecting with you on the next episode.
We’ll see you there.
Closing Message
Thank you for listening to Heal Yourself, Change Your Life. Every week, I hear from people who say these episodes have given them hope, touched their hearts, helped them stay positive during hard times, or opened them to a new level of awareness about how amazing we truly are.
If today’s episode touched your heart or expanded your mind, please share it with those you care about — or those who need a reminder of their own power. The more people become empowered, the more we elevate the world together.
That’s truly the purpose behind these demonstrations — to help create a radical shift in global consciousness by showing everyone what we are capable of when we use our minds consciously.
And of course, each volunteer I work with must follow through to reinforce their new mind programming and maintain their results. The same is true for all of us — consistency creates change. But the point is for you to see that you can create rapid results in your health and your life when you truly understand how to use your mind.
You are absolutely incredible.
I do want to be clear — most people won’t get results this fast on their own. It may look easy when you see me do it because of the discoveries I’ve made, but remember: there’s so much more happening at the deeper levels of the mind than most people realize.
If you’d like to send me any questions or comments, visit me at BrandyGillmore.com. And if you’re currently experiencing physical pain and would like to be a volunteer on the show, you can sign up there as well.
Lastly, please remember — if you have any health issues, continue seeing your doctors. Make it your goal to blow their minds with what you’re capable of using your own mind.
Thank you, and have a beautiful, loving, empowered day.
