Welcome to Heal Yourself, Change Your Life. My name is Brandy Gillmore, and after recovering from my own life-changing injury, it’s become my mission to share with others the same discoveries I made that changed my health and my entire life. Our minds are truly incredible. The placebo is proof of this.
Each week, I will take this simple awareness to a whole new level. I will even coach live callers to free themselves of physical pain using only their mind. And then I’ll provide you with a combination of practical and spiritual insights that you can use to master your mind and body, your emotions, and your energy to help you heal your health, yourself, and your life.
Let’s begin.
Hello and happy beautiful day to you. On today’s episode, we are going to geek out a bit in a beautiful way and talk about mind-body healing, the connection, and how it all works. I just love where we’re going. You know, the reason that I have been able to heal myself or show others how to get results and even demonstrate healing with the mind under medical equipment is because of the way I understand the mind. I see it in a different way and was able to look at the details—and that was pivotal.
Understanding the Energy of the Body
The reason we’re going to explore this topic today is because of last week’s IQ episode. If you recall, we talked about people getting stuck in misconceptions, mistruths, or misinformation that keeps them from healing. And what I love is that so many people reached out with “aha” moments last week—huge awareness about energy, the mind, and how it works. Also, many reached out with questions about the placebo, energy, and how it works. I love that because understanding it has been pivotal for me in getting results.
Understanding anything—even a computer—makes it easier to get the results you want. If you don’t understand how to use a computer, pressing buttons randomly can be frustrating. Understanding is key.
Today, we’re going to dive into this information and unpack some of these questions. We’ll talk about the open-label placebo, the energy of the body, and commanding the body to do certain things. So let’s start with the energy of the body.
Last week, as I was talking about the energy of the body, I referred to it as biophotons. However, we could also call it the aura, spiritual energy, or life force energy. This energy has many names. Medically, it was discovered a hundred years ago as “mitogenetic radiation.” It’s also known as UPE (ultra-weak photon emissions) or simply biophotons.
Some may think the energy of the body is just a “woo-woo” spiritual notion. Yes, there is a spiritual aspect. Even in biblical times, angels were depicted with halos—representing energy. However, it has also been medically discovered that the body emits light energy.
A simple way to understand this is by thinking about a light bulb. It emits photons, as does the sun. Similarly, the body emits photons, referred to as biophotons. What’s fascinating is that this light energy is integral to our health.
The Impact of Frequency and Light Energy
Often, people say, “To heal, just raise your energy or frequency.” But let’s be careful. Think of the heart’s rhythm. You don’t want no heartbeat, nor an overly high-frequency heartbeat. The same goes for brainwaves. Balance is essential.
Cancer cells, for example, emit higher frequencies. So when people say, “Just raise your frequency,” that’s not entirely correct. We need a healthy frequency, not necessarily a higher one.
Healthy biophoton emissions are very important. Think of it like a plant needing sunlight. Too much sun isn’t good, nor is no sun at all. Our bodies need light energy at optimal levels. Simply saying, “Raise your energy” doesn’t work because the body needs balance.
Sometimes, people tell their bodies to do specific things, and the body listens—to their detriment. For instance, I shared a story about someone with type 2 diabetes who hypnotized themselves to produce more insulin. It worked—too well—and they ended up hospitalized with low blood sugar.
What we want is for the body to achieve homeostasis. Instead of commanding the body, focus on emotions and the subconscious mind. Studies show that our thoughts and emotions directly influence biophoton emissions. Positive emotions increase healthy emissions, while anger or stress can increase unhealthy emissions.
The Power of Emotions in Healing
When thinking about healing, it’s clear that emotions play a pivotal role. Stress can lead to autoimmune issues. Anger or guilt can create imbalances. Even simple reactions, like blushing when embarrassed, show how emotions affect the body.
Studies also show that meditation lowers biophoton emissions. So imagine someone saying, “Raise your frequency” while meditating, which lowers it. This highlights why we should not command the body but rather focus on releasing negative patterns.
Creating emotional change at a deep level is key. For example, research shows that optimism speeds up healing after surgery. Fear or stress slows healing and increases the risk of rehospitalization.
Exploring the Placebo and Open-Label Placebo
We’ve all heard about the placebo—a fake treatment that creates real results. During my injury, I believed healing was about belief alone. I visualized, affirmed, and believed, yet I didn’t heal. Then I learned about the open-label placebo—where both the doctor and patient know the treatment is fake, yet it works. This proves it’s not just about belief.
Emotions drive this phenomenon. A belief that life will get better creates optimism, which accelerates healing. Conversely, fear and stress can hinder it. The doctor-patient relationship also plays a role, as does novelty and connection with others after a placebo treatment.
Even with placebos, emotional shifts create results. However, lasting healing requires deeper emotional work. Temporary improvements come from surface-level shifts, but profound change requires addressing the subconscious mind.
Simplifying the Complexity
If we simplify everything, the message is clear: Don’t command the body. Instead, heal emotions at a subconscious level. Boost positive expectation and optimism. Research shows that optimism extends life by up to 15% and reduces the risk of heart disease.
So notice any negative patterns in your subconscious. Genuine change is needed to re-pattern the mind for lasting healing.
