Welcome to Heal Yourself, Change Your Life. My name is Brandy Gillmore, and after recovering from my own life changing injury, it's become my mission to share with others the same discoveries I made that changed my health and my entire life. Minds are truly incredible. The placebo is proof of this. Each week I will take this simple awareness to a whole new level.

I will even coach live callers to free themselves of physical pain using only their mind. And then I'll provide you with a combination of practical and spiritual insights that you can use to master your mind, your emotions, and your energy. to help you heal your health, yourself, and your life. Let's begin.

Hello, and welcome to this week's quick IQ episode, where we talk about insights and questions. And today I want to share with you a question that I get You know, people always ask me when they see me working with others to coach people, to get radical results, where I show people how to release their own pain, even under medical equipment.

And they'll see that. And of course they want to know, you know, what are the specific insights or keys to being able to do this? And one question that I get all of the time from people is this, they say, well, What is the hardest part of healing with the mind or doing what you do to get radical results?

And I would say, you know, there are different aspects for each person. You know, each person may have a challenge in a different area, but I would say two specific areas that I see a lot are this, is First and foremost, a lot of times people may be unaware that our minds can be miswired. And one way to look at a miswired mind is if we think about the unfortunate example of a cutter, you know, somebody who cuts themselves and can experience feelings of relief or euphoria or safety or control from cutting themselves.

Now, obviously that doesn't make logical sense and they didn't want to put their brain and mind programmed in that way, but Unfortunately, that can get linked up and we can see other things that get linked up also. For example, a person may have a feeling of pride and hardship where they feel a sense of, you know, the more hardship that they have, the more deserving or more pride that they experience, in which case those things get linked up and they can affect our health.

Now, when we think about it for a moment, there are other things too that are so counterintuitive. For example, some people may end up On a subconscious level, getting love linked up to illness. And one way we can see this in our culture is like, this is maybe you've seen before where maybe as a baby somebody had a owie on their hand, you know, or a cut or an owie of burrus of they fell, they scratched their knee or something like that.

And then they say, somebody maybe says to them, well, let me, let me kiss your owie. You know, let me kiss it and make it better. What unfortunately happens in that situation is that at a very young age, somebody can get it linked up in their nervous system. That illness and love can be linked up, that if they have an owie, that it's connected to love.

Now, the problem with this is that then, if a person, let's say they're feeling lonely in life. Well, then their mind might say, well, at a subconscious level, going back into their history of their subconscious programming may say, Oh, well, the way to get love is to have an owie. And that can be in their subconscious mind and they don't even realize it's there.

Or in another situation, I've seen people before where even as a kid, you know, when they had to go to school, let's say there was a test and they were afraid to take a test. And so. What they would do is, you know, maybe call in sick and say, Oh, I don't feel very good. So it kept them from having to take a test or kept, got them out of doing something.

Oh, I don't have to go to school if I just call in sick, you know, play hooky. We've all heard that phrase before, but what can happen is this, is that fast forward, somebody grows up and maybe they feel like they've got to go to work every day and they really wish in their subconscious mind that they could play hooky.

Now, maybe consciously they don't want to, you know, play hooky, so to speak, that's the old phrase for it, but get out of work or whatnot. Now, consciously they may feel like, well, I can't, I have a family to support or I need to be responsible. But at a subconscious mind, in their subconscious mind, it can be linked up that says, Oh, I Well, the way to get out of work is to be sick.

Now, of course, they don't want that consciously, but if they're going to work every day and they're feeling like, gosh, I just want to get out of work or going to work or they're overwhelmed and overwhelmed, overwhelmed, the brain can have it stored up at a subconscious level that the way to get out of it is to be sick.

Now, of course, they didn't put that in their mind consciously, but all of these things can affect a person. And of course, you know, somebody going towards success and they feel somebody might have it linked up in their mind that if they're successful, everybody will be jealous. In which case as they're going towards their success, if they have that linked up, that can absolutely sabotage their success.

If they feel like everybody's going to hate them or everybody's going to be jealous, then illness can manifest. So to speak, to stop them from reaching their success. Now, my point is, is we can see that the subconscious mind can be miswired in a variety of different ways. And so I'd say one of the challenges is that, is really understanding that it makes no logical sense whatsoever that the conscious mind would never choose to be sick.

You know, most people who are looking for healing have been spending money and time and resources and all of these things to heal. And the idea that part of their subconscious mind would link it up to safety or getting out of work or something like that doesn't make logical sense, but that can happen at age two, three, four, five, eight, you know, and it could be hidden in that subconscious mind.

And so that is one key that can be hard for people to see. Now, a second key challenge is this, is that a lot of times people don't understand how their mind works. And when we look in psychology, We can see the awareness of what is called repetition compulsion or reenactments or attachment theory. And when we look at these in psychology, you know, attachment theory or repetition, compulsion, reenactments, these are all different ways of saying that our patterns can attract more of the same.

And a simple example that I use all the time is that unfortunately, a woman may have an abusive father and leave him and find the abusive boyfriend, boss, spouse, etc, etc. So that pattern can continue. And of course, we can all have compassion for somebody in that situation. But what happens is this, is that these patterns can continue.

When a person fuels them, it can just perpetuate the problem. And another way to think about it is like this, is if, maybe if you've ever done this, where you've been frustrated towards something, you get frustrated, it's not working, you get more and more and more frustrated, and it doesn't work. But then, maybe you step away for something, and then you come back to it, And it works easily.

You know, a lot of times that's what can happen is that we're the more frustrated that we feel or the pattern breeds more of the same or maybe somebody who has a pattern meant pattern of rejection or a pattern of abandonment, you know, those patterns can breed more of the same. Now my point is is that a lot of times some people become aware of patterns And sometimes, you know, for people it's completely foreign.

But if we can start thinking in terms of patterns and understanding the subconscious mind, it becomes empowering where we can look at patterns and say, Oh, well, why is this pattern happening? And so I would say that is another challenge. Now, the reason that it is a challenge is this. is, you know, the example I use all the time is the woman with the abusive father, maybe finds the abusive boyfriend, dad, boss, spouse, or boyfriend, boss, spouse, et cetera, et cetera.

That pattern can continue. A lot of times when somebody has had that pattern, they can get more and more frustrated and more and more frustrated. And further, a lot of times, they can't. What can happen is this, is if somebody doesn't understand patterns, a lot of times people just want to be heard and understood, and they want their emotions to be validated.

You know, if you go through a trauma, you go through an injury or something like that, what's the most common? A lot of times, that's what we want. We want somebody to validate our emotions, to understand, to give us love or connection for them or, you know, all of these things. But the problem is, is it only perpetuates the pattern.

The pattern just then can continue and continue. And that's part of the problem, is that the patterns continue. And so the more that people wake up to the awareness that we do have these patterns, the more we do, we can really heal them. You know, going back to the unfortunate example of the woman with the abusive father who leaves him and finds an abusive boyfriend, boss, spouse, et cetera, et cetera.

If she comes to a place where she says, Oh my gosh, I see this pattern, and she can become aware of it, then she can begin to heal that pattern and dissolve it. And actually, if you think about our last episode, last episode on my podcast, episode 236, that's exactly what happened. This woman had, unfortunately, a lot of anger and, and hurt from her mother growing up in this case.

So, And in this case, it was a lot of hurt towards her mother and anger towards her mother and rejection and feeling unloved. And then it perpetuated in her pattern, in her patterns where she felt like she was unloved by her first husband and then their next. And so she, then she had kids by two different kids by different dads.

And then, and, but then ultimately felt unloved and then felt unloved by her mother again. So that pattern continued. Now, what was beautiful is this, is that in the last episode, episode 236, She identified that pattern. So I worked with her, identified the pattern and she didn't blame herself, which was great.

So we just said, look at this pattern. Are you willing to change it? And she was, and her pain went from a level eight, nine in her body to down to a level one. By being willing to see the pattern and, and let it go and change it. Now I'm simplifying. And if you haven't listened to that episode, I'd strongly recommend doing so.

But the point is, is that she was able to see the pattern. And initially she was feeling angry and upset and hurt and angry and upset and hurt. And instead of continuing to validate those emotions, because if she continues to validate and validate and validate the anger and validate the upset and validate the hurt, what happens?

The pain stays, or it can even go up. But what happened is that instead of validating it, which would continue the pain and continue the pattern, she actually said, okay, she's willing to let go of the hurt and anger and upset. And as she said, she's willing to let go of it. Her pain Decreased, right there.

And so, as she continued to let go of it and then be willing to change, and we had talked about connecting with her mom, and playing games with her mom, and being willing to really change, her pain went way down. Level one is when she was able to get it down, and she did that using her mind. Now, the important part to note is, is this, is that if she continued to validate the pattern, then she wouldn't have been able to get her pain down, and it would have perpetuated the pattern, and if she started blaming herself, that wouldn't have helped either.

That could have perpetuated the problem and made her feel even more bad and guilty, and, and it wouldn't have been good, and it wouldn't have been a place of healing. healing. But instead, her saying, okay, I'm willing to let go of those old negative emotions. I don't need to feel anger. I don't need to validate it.

I don't need to be upset. I'm willing to just start changing and transforming moving forward. That was liberating. And so, my point from this piece is that becoming aware of patterns is key for healing. Because, what ultimately happens is we must rewire the mind. We must be willing to think in a different way.

And even if we have painful, painful patterns, or angry patterns, or hurt patterns, whatever it is, being willing to look at the pattern and not blame ourselves, but also not validate the pattern. is pivotal. In that place, we can be empowered to make a real change. And that's ultimately what you'd want to do is say, okay, I see the pattern.

I'm not going to fuel it. I'm not going to keep validating it. I'm just willing to change. Is pivotal for healing, for life transformation, for love, for happiness. It's just, it's an ultimate place of empowerment. And so, Those are the insights that I want to share with you today is just that understanding is the awareness that our minds can be miswired and also our minds work in patterns and that we have to be willing to break free of these patterns and not fuel them any longer.

Not validate them, not energize them. Not blame ourselves, but be willing to understand that that's how the brain works. And again, you know, we could look at repetition, compulsion, reenactments, attachment theory, even re victimization, law of attraction, whatever you want to call it. Those patterns can perpetuate in our lives.

And a lot of times we don't realize it. It's so subconscious. And because it shows up in a different way. So we think it's just a completely different experience. And yet, if we begin to understand and really look at the emotions and the underlying emotions, we can see the correlation. And so that is key.

Key for transforming your life and key for getting results. And so those are the insights from today. And again, if you have not listened to episode 236, I strongly recommend doing so because you can see the correlation. just the awareness of how patterns can perpetuate in our lives and we can not even realize that it's happening.

And so that is key for creating real change.
