Welcome to Heal Yourself, Change Your Life. My name is Brandy Gillmore. And after recovering from my own life-changing injury, it’s become my mission to share with others the same discoveries I made that changed my health and my entire life. Our minds are truly incredible. The placebo is proof of this.
Each week, I will take this simple awareness to a whole new level. I will even coach live callers to free themselves of physical pain using only their mind. And then I’ll provide you with a combination of practical and spiritual insights that you can use to help you master your mind, your emotions, and your energy—to help you heal your health, yourself, and your life.
Let’s begin.
Hello, and welcome to this week’s Quick IQ episode, where we talk about insights and questions. Today, I’m going to answer some questions that came in from last week’s episode. As you’ll recall, I worked with a beautiful volunteer, Julie, and she released her pain and shifted it so quickly that she was awestruck.
She was like, “What do I even say?” And it was so beautiful. She did a fantastic job. As you’ll recall from that episode, in some ways she reminded me a lot of myself—not that I shifted my pain that quickly—but that I wasn’t fully in touch with what was happening in my subconscious mind.
What I also love about that episode is her pure shock and wonder. You can feel it. You can experience it—just when she’s quietly saying, “Wow.” Her pain went way down so quickly. And what I love is that a lot of people mistakenly think that healing with the mind is all about belief—but it’s not.
Believing something positive can, of course, help shift your emotions because it allows you to feel more optimistic. But real healing involves so much more. That’s one of the biggest misconceptions. And that’s what that last episode illustrated so beautifully.
Now, coming off of that episode, I often get asked: How were you able to figure this out? So today I want to share a few key distinctions that really helped me on my own journey to figure this out.
One of the biggest things that opened my awareness was learning about Multiple Personality Disorder—or what’s now called Dissociative Identity Disorder. I mention this often because it stood out to me in such a profound way.
People with this condition can have different illnesses or physical symptoms in different personalities. This has nothing to do with belief—it’s a direct reflection of the subconscious mind. The same person, with the same physical body, might have pain or illness in one personality, and yet none at all in another. Or they might have one illness in one personality and an entirely different one in another.
To simplify that: there’s only one physical body. So when the personality changes and the symptoms completely change with it, that clearly points to the mind’s direct influence on the body.
Another major turning point for me came during my own injury. A friend of mine had an aunt who was dying of lung cancer. My friend asked if I wanted to go with her to say goodbye before she passed. I said yes.
When I saw her, she was in that final-days state—in and out of consciousness—and had been that way for quite some time. I said my goodbyes, but something struck me so deeply. I realized that’s probably what I looked like every day.
At the time, I had been spending years meditating, listening to guided meditations and binaural beats, staying in theta and delta brainwave states—trying to get my body to heal through deep hypnosis and relaxation. I was doing it constantly, spending hours upon hours in those states.
Seeing her in that state was jarring. It woke me up. It made me realize I had to do something radically different. I had spent years trying to convince myself I was already healed—through affirmations, meditation, and visualization—but my body wasn’t actually healing.
That moment gave me a clear, powerful awareness: I had to truly understand how healing works, not just keep doing what I thought should work. And that’s the awareness I want to give you now—without having to go through the same long, painful process I did. It’s about that moment of clarity when you say, “I really have to understand this.”
Going back to last week’s episode, our volunteer was such a loving being. I loved how much she adored her husband, how deeply she cared. Her love was pure and beautiful. And it’s such an important awareness—that if you really want results in life, if you truly want to master your mind, you must be in tune with the subtle details that shape your inner world.
Because here’s the thing: I often say there’s much more I’m doing with the mind than people realize. From the outside, it might look simple—almost magical. I sit there, talk to someone, and suddenly their pain is gone. But that ease comes from depth. From understanding and working with the mind on multiple levels at once.
Unfortunately, many people think, “Oh, I already know this,” and move on too quickly. But when we do that, we overlook the small but powerful details. And in truth, the details are everything.
I had been doing the meditation, the positive thinking, the affirmations, the visualization, the binaural beats—all of it—for years. And sure, I could sometimes get my pain to go down a little. I experienced synchronicities and little shifts. But did it actually heal my body? No. Not until I understood what was really going on in my mind and reprogrammed it at the core level.
That’s when my life truly changed. When I started paying attention to those subtle, specific details—and made the decision to transform them—that’s when everything shifted.
Even if you think back to last week’s episode, when our volunteer was reflecting on how her life would change as she healed—spending more time with her husband, traveling, enjoying life—you could really feel that shift in her energy. That’s when it becomes life-changing. And I say that, of course, because I’ve lived it myself. I’ve experienced what it feels like to have a second chance at life—it’s incredible.
But here’s something to think about: what if everyone could truly understand and tune in to those subtle awarenesses—what if everyone could master their mind?
We live in a world where we’re trained to have everyone else fix things for us. If there’s something wrong with your car, you take it in and someone repairs it. If your computer breaks, someone else fixes it. If there’s a problem with the plumbing or electricity, we call a professional. And that’s wonderful—it’s how we support one another.
But when it comes to our own minds, it’s different. We should all be in the driver’s seat of our own mind. We should be the ones learning how to understand and reprogram it, rather than handing that power over to others. That’s the real empowerment—learning to use the incredible tool we all have within us.
So, this may or may not feel like a profound insight to you right now, but from my own experience, I can tell you: when I truly dedicated myself to understanding my mind and paying attention to those small, subtle details, everything changed. That awareness was pivotal. That’s when I experienced real results and lasting transformation.
On that note, I want to invite you to join me in a simple, fun little exercise. This will help you continue to train your brain—to become even better at self-awareness and noticing important patterns in your life.
We all have patterns—habits, emotions, and responses that show up repeatedly. I want to invite you to start noticing those patterns, but with a twist: do it in the positive direction. Most of us tend to focus on what’s wrong or what needs fixing. Instead, let’s train your mind to see what’s right, what’s beautiful, what’s already working.
So, think about a positive pattern you already have. Maybe you naturally smile at people, or you take a deep breath before reacting, or you feel grateful when you wake up. Whatever it is, start noticing how often it shows up—and you might be surprised to find that it happens more often than you realize.
And if you’re sitting there thinking, “Brandy, I don’t think I have any positive patterns,” then perfect! This is your opportunity to create one.
For example, you might decide that ten times a day, you’re going to stop and take a moment to feel love and gratitude. You could think about people you absolutely love and allow yourself to really feel that love in your heart. Then, think about feeling loved in return—feel that energy coming toward you. Take it in. Let it fill you up.
When you do this often enough, it becomes a natural part of your energy field—a new pattern of love and positive emotional energy. And remember, repetition is how the subconscious learns. The more you feel it, the more your brain encodes it as your new normal.
Once you start identifying and creating positive patterns, you can build from there. Let that energy expand into other areas of your life—your health, your relationships, your work. You’ll start to see a ripple effect. This is how transformation begins—from small, intentional emotional shifts that multiply over time.
Practicing positive awareness like this not only uplifts your energy—it also helps your mind gain clarity about your deeper transformation. Because, as we’ve seen in many of the live coaching episodes, it’s so easy for old information, memories, and emotional patterns to stay stored in our subconscious minds without us realizing it.
I was that way for years—completely unaware of what was truly stored in my subconscious. I had no idea how much my own emotions and patterns were shaping my body’s responses and my overall health. It wasn’t until I learned to identify, transform, and reprogram those subconscious patterns that my life—and health—completely changed.
The more you learn to work with your mind in this way, the more you empower every part of your life—your health, your happiness, your love, and your purpose. Mastering your mind truly changes everything.
So that’s today’s Quick IQ episode. I hope this inspired you to start noticing the beautiful, positive patterns already in your life—and to consciously create even more of them.
And as always, I want to ask you to take just a quick moment and hit the share button on this episode. Share it with someone you love, someone you care about, or even someone you don’t know. Because the more empowered, happy, and healthy every person in this world becomes, the better our world is for all of us.
So please do make a point to share it—and make a point to have the most wonderful, incredible rest of your day.
Thank you for listening to Heal Yourself, Change Your Life. Every week, people reach out to say how much these episodes have given them hope, helped them stay positive through challenges, or opened their awareness to how amazing we all really are.
If today’s episode touched your heart or expanded your mind in any way, please share it with others who may need it. As more people become empowered, it truly changes our world for the better. That’s the point and the power of these demonstrations—to create a radical shift in world consciousness by showing what we are all capable of.
Of course, each volunteer I work with needs to follow through to reinforce their new mind programming to maintain their results. But the point is for you to see that you can create rapid results in your health and your life—if you truly understand how to use your mind. You are incredible.
Now, I do want to be clear that most people will not get results this fast on their own. I make it look easy because of the discoveries I’ve made and the tools I’ve developed. Remember, there’s so much more happening in the mind at a deeper level than most people realize.
