Welcome to Heal Yourself, Change Your Life. My name is Brandy Gillmore. And after recovering from my own life-changing injury, it’s become my mission to share with others the same discoveries I made that changed my health and my entire life. Our minds are truly incredible. The placebo is proof of this.
Each week, I will take this simple awareness to a whole new level. I will even coach live callers to free themselves of physical pain using only their mind. And then I’ll provide you with a combination of practical and spiritual insights that you can use to master your mind, your emotions, and your energy—to help you heal your health, yourself, and your life.
Let’s begin.
Hello, and welcome to this week’s quick IQ episode where we talk about insights and questions. Today, I want to share with you a very powerful insight from a question that comes up all the time. Recently, a few people have emailed in regarding this particular question, and it has to do with money.
All the time in our culture, many people feel a sense of stress or fear when it comes to money. Of course, any type of stress or fear can make it harder for the body to heal itself. So I want to talk about shifting your mindset and some things you can do to start creating a change in this area of your life.
Before we delve in, a lot of people wonder, “How is it even possible to shift your mindset and have it really make a change in your finances?” A simple way to think about it is this:
If you think about a writer who has writer’s block, they’re trying to write something and feel stuck—they just can’t think of what to say. Or maybe you’ve tried to recall someone’s name and it feels blocked, like you just can’t think of it. Similarly, our minds can block us from all sorts of things.
Throughout the years working with people, I’ve found our minds can work in one of two specific ways:
There can be a block—just like writer’s block—where we have a block toward money, relationships, or whatever the area may be. We don’t have ideas or we feel like something is impossible. I refer to this as a visionary mental block because your mind is literally blocked from the vision. You can’t see how it could even be possible. It may genuinely feel impossible to create a shift, and that’s very common when people feel stuck.
When you begin to shift the mindset and release these underlying negative blocks, your ideas open up—just like a writer who suddenly finds inspiration again. Information and creativity begin to flow.
Another way the mind works is by holding onto a stuck negative vision. This happens when someone is attached to their current circumstances and negative expectations. It’s often the result of subconscious beliefs or even actions that reinforce a negative outlook.
For example, if someone is driving toward a cliff, they might feel deep anxiety because their actions are leading to a dangerous outcome. Likewise, when we take actions or hold beliefs that lead us away from abundance, our subconscious warns us through negative emotion.
So, whether it’s a visionary block or a stuck vision, the more you shift your mindset, the more your mind opens up to new opportunities.
After going through my injury—being on disability and unable to pay my bills—I went from having a great salary in network engineering and operations to liquidating everything and falling behind financially. I was a financial mess.
When I healed myself physically, I realized I also needed to heal my relationship with money. I began to shift my mindset and started having new ideas about how I could make money. At first, they were simple: I loved music, and I had thousands of CDs. I realized I could sell them to a used CD store and make some cash.
Those small steps led to bigger opportunities. I started winning little contests, random ideas would appear, and interesting opportunities would manifest. As I understood the mind better, everything expanded. I even managed to sell my old house—something that had felt impossible before.
Instead of focusing on doom and gloom, I began to optimize my current situation, and life started changing for the better. Later, as I developed my gift—the ability to feel what others were feeling—I began connecting with founders of multimillion-dollar companies who were also stuck around money or mindset. Helping them shift those blocks became part of my purpose.
Over the years, I’ve not only helped people heal physically but also helped entrepreneurs and leaders transform their businesses, increase revenue, and make a bigger positive impact in the world. It’s a combination of internal change (mindset) and external change (action).
True transformation happens when you align your mind and take action. Think of it this way: if a writer overcomes writer’s block but never writes anything down, nothing changes. Likewise, if you clear your mental blocks about money but never act on your ideas, nothing improves.
When you reprogram your mind and open yourself up to abundance, new ideas come naturally—and when you take action on them, your life begins to change. Even if it feels impossible, know that it isn’t. I’ve been there, and I’ve worked with many people who have been there too.
What I want to share with you next are some of the common blocks I’ve seen throughout the years that can keep people stuck financially. These include both internal (mindset) and external (action-based) patterns that affect a person’s relationship with money and, ultimately, their health and happiness.
When someone has been under a lot of stress about money, they often begin to develop deeper emotional patterns—such as frustration, fear, or even resentment. These emotions can create subconscious blocks that prevent abundance from flowing in. Here are a few of the most common ones:
Even if someone consciously wants more money, these subconscious feelings can repel financial flow because the deeper emotional pattern feels unsafe or undeserving. Your subconscious always works to protect you based on what it believes—so if it feels money is “unsafe,” it will block it from coming in.
For example, some people have the belief that the world would be a better place without money. While that might sound noble, what often happens is that their external world starts reflecting that belief—they begin to experience a lack of money. Subconsciously, their mind is saying, “The world is better without it,” so it keeps it away.
Instead of believing life would be better without money, I encourage you to consciously look at the opposite. Begin to see that the world is actually better with money—when it’s used in love, integrity, and generosity.
Think about it: the areas of the world with the least amount of money often have the highest levels of starvation, crime, and violence. When there’s abundance, there’s often more safety, opportunity, and kindness.
Before money, people bartered and traded—perhaps a wagon wheel for corn or a piece of cloth for wheat. But that system simply wouldn’t work in today’s global economy. Money is what allows us to exchange fairly and efficiently. In a way, it’s like a form of gratitude in paper form—a “thank you” that flows between us as we share our gifts and services.
When we see money as something that allows all of us to help and support each other, it becomes a beautiful symbol of connection and collaboration. The goal, then, is to create a mindset of love, gratitude, and positivity toward money—seeing it as energy that flows to and through you to make life and the world better.
Now, let’s look at the external actions that often create blocks toward money. Sometimes, people unknowingly sabotage their financial flow by doing small things that are out of integrity. Integrity matters because your actions carry energy—if that energy is misaligned, it can block abundance from flowing to you.
While these actions may seem small, they carry the energy of lack and dishonesty. When you act in ways that take from others, it energetically tells your subconscious that you don’t believe in abundance—that you must take rather than receive. This can lead to attracting breakdowns or losses elsewhere, such as car repairs, unexpected bills, or even health issues.
I’ve worked with people who were unknowingly out of integrity with money, and as soon as they cleared those actions or restored fairness, their income started to improve and new opportunities opened up. Your energy toward money must reflect respect, honesty, and balance.
Sometimes people ask, “What about those who aren’t in good integrity with money but still have plenty of it?” My answer is that life reflects a mixed energetic pattern. Some people make money in ways that lack integrity but also earn income through other means that are positive or fair. That’s why you often see people with great wealth who still experience lawsuits, unhappiness, or other issues—it’s the imbalance of energy showing up.
Our goal isn’t just to make money, but to do so in a way that aligns with love, fairness, and contribution. That creates lasting peace and prosperity. True abundance doesn’t just mean having financial wealth—it means feeling safe, free, and aligned with life itself.
It’s not just about having money; it’s also about feeling safe with it. I’ve seen people who came into large sums of money but then developed health issues or lost their sense of safety. That’s why part of healing your relationship with money is cultivating safety, love, and appreciation for it.
When you love money in a healthy way, it allows you to love more—because money enables you to do things for the people you care about, connect more deeply, and live more freely. The energy you want to have around money is love, connection, safety, camaraderie, and gratitude.
So take some time to reflect: Do you feel safe with money? Do you feel that you deserve it? Do you see it as something that helps connect people rather than divide them? These are powerful questions that can help reprogram your subconscious mind toward abundance and well-being.
The more you clear fears, judgments, or negative associations with money—and replace them with feelings of love, safety, and appreciation—the more you open your mind to new opportunities. It might sound impossible, but I’ve seen people making millions, even hundreds of millions, completely transform their financial reality once they aligned their energy and actions.
It’s all about the same principle: when your mind is in harmony with what you desire, your creativity, ideas, and energy flow freely. It’s the difference between a third grader struggling with math and another one who loves it. The child who loves math finds it easy because their mind is open and engaged. The same applies to your relationship with money—or with any area of your life.
The more you love the subject, the easier it becomes to create success with it.
Let’s bring this full circle. The reason we’re talking about money on a healing podcast is because financial stress affects your health. Studies show that people living with chronic stress or poverty tend to have shorter lifespans, while those who feel safer and more abundant tend to live longer, healthier lives.
By transforming your emotional relationship with money—from stress and fear to safety and love—you’re not only improving your financial situation, but also boosting your body’s ability to heal. When you release fear, your nervous system relaxes, your energy flows more freely, and your body’s natural healing mechanisms activate.
That’s the true connection between your mind, energy, and physical health.
So today, I encourage you to take time to reflect on your relationship with money. Notice any fears, judgments, or resentments that might be there. Then, begin shifting them toward love, gratitude, and connection. This isn’t about greed—it’s about embracing the flow of abundance in a way that uplifts you and everyone around you.
