Hello, and welcome to this week's quick IQ episode where we talk about insights and questions. And today I have a really great question slash insight from a lot of different listeners, you know, really, If you recall last week's IQ episode, we had talked about emotional patterns that kind of create secondary hidden patterns and hidden emotions that people don't always realize that are there that can affect your health.
So it's a little bit tricky. And today I want to build on that tricky pattern awareness just because it can create a huge breakthrough in your health, in your life, in the transformation, even if it's just a simple insight. I appreciate it. And that's what we have today. You know, all of the time people hear about the importance of self love or self compassion.
And what can happen is that if a person is in a really bad place in life, where they try to bring in the feelings of self love or self compassion, what they really end up bringing in is a feeling of self compassion. of feeling sorry for themselves, not intentionally, but it's just like, you know, let's say somebody gets their feelings hurt or something bad happens and they say, well, that's okay.
I'll just give more love to myself. And what happens is they end up linking up hurt and wounding to self love or even feeling sorry for self. And the unfortunate thing is, is that when you work with energy and emotional energy, What you really begin to find is emotions and patterns are really specific.
I mean, I have seen patterns that are so specific that, you know, I mean, if somebody feels love, if somebody feels criticism, if it all kinds of things, if somebody feels rejection or even exiled, I mean, every different pattern can show up in a different way. And that is very true with feeling sorry for self.
You know, having that sense of, of self sympathy and if that is your situation, if you're feeling that, where you're really trying to have self love and self compassion, because you know that those are great for you, but it's coming through as self sympathy, you'll want to make sure to change it. It is so important.
important and even in my own life, I can tell you that when I was going through my injury, I had different key insights like I was, you know, researching and trying to figure this all out and, you know, going into the analytical mind and researching neuroscience and energy. I mean, just so many different things.
And I would have different insights pop into my mind, kind of, you know, if you've ever just been doing something and you have a song pop into your mind, uh, the same thing, you know, a song will give you a message for your mind that maybe there's some type of change to make in your life. And the same is true, even, you know, with different information, it'll pop into your mind and that's what was happening.
And that poem from DH Lawrence, if you've ever heard of it, it's a poem about self pity. And the poem is just very, very short. And it says, you know, I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself. A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itself. And, not to sound militant or anything like that, don't get me wrong, but that was a poem that kept going through my head.
It was just like, Brandy, don't feel sorry for yourself, figure this out, you know, and it was something that helped me to gather my strength to not go there, to not feel sorry for myself, but just to figure out how I was going to get my life back and how I was going to heal. And I know that to some people when they hear this, they're going to say, wow, that sounds militant and I get it.
But again, remembering that emotions breed more of the same. And I can say that. To this day, right now, I don't feel sorry for myself, thank God, because I have seen people with patterns of having that self sympathy feeling. And it's like when they were 40, you know, they felt bad for themselves because of their childhood and then when they're 50 and then when they're 70 and I mean, I see people who unfortunately have this pattern and again, it's not to be militant.
It's not to be tough love. It's just to be real with how energy works and that patterns breed more of the same. And so today's insight is exactly that, is that if you are somebody who's working on bringing in self love or self compassion, just make sure it feels genuine, like really absolutely loving yourself because you're you, because you're amazing, because you're incredible, because you have a good heart, because you deserve a great life, because you're a beautiful soul that's in a physical body.
You know, love yourself for so many reasons. but making sure that it's not saying, Oh, I feel sorry for myself because this person did this, or because of my hardship, or this, that, the other, you know, it's so easy to go there, especially if you're in a hard place. But if you really look at how energy works.
You'll want to make sure that you're not going into that place at all. So love yourself, adore yourself, feel good about yourself, bring in that feeling of just genuine self love, and if there's any of that feeling bad for yourself, I want to invite you to the awareness, to just turn them into pure love, and of course, if you want, you can always look up this poem by D. Lawrence. It's a beautiful poem, and it was something that went through my head. A lot during my injury, they kept me just focused and saying, okay, I've got to do this. I've got to find my strength. I got to make this happen, you know, and by the way, you may not be where I was, but just no matter what it is, if it's knee pain or if it's this pain, you know, or something you're working on in your relationships or your life or your success or whatever it is, just really feeling that feeling of feeling proud of you, feeling good about you in a healthy, wonderful way.
So that of course breeds more empowerment, breeds more confidence, health, healing, success, all of that good stuff.
