Welcome to Heal Yourself, Change Your Life. My name is Brandy Gillmore, and after recovering from my own life changing injury, it's become my mission to share with others the same discoveries I made that changed my health and my entire life. Our minds are truly incredible. The placebo is proof of this.

Each week, I will take this simple awareness to a whole new level. I will even coach live callers to free themselves of physical pain using only their mind. And then I'll provide you with a combination of practical and spiritual insights that you can use. To master your mind, your emotions, and your energy to help you heal your health, yourself, and your life.

Let's begin.

Hello, and welcome to this week's quick IQ episode where we talk about insights and questions and today I want to share with you a question that I get all of the time from researchers or people who are understanding and working with the mind body healing and just trying to understand it because what will happen is they'll see me Working with people to get radical results, you know, if you've seen obviously under medical equipment where you can see somebody who's experiencing physical pain and then just shift their mindset and really, of course, think and feel radically in a different way.

And you can see the scan under thermal medical equipment where there's a complete change where a person can go from feeling pain to the pain being completely gone. And so, All the time people are amazed by this and I'll say, well, wait a second. How is this possible? And why aren't a lot of people getting results?

Because, I mean, let's be honest, more and more people are waking up to the power of the mind for healing. More and more people are doing things like meditating or thinking in a positive way or affirmations or, you know, doing all of the common things and yet. They're still staying stuck and they're not getting the results.

And so that's the question that I get all of the time. People will email in and they say, I've been meditating for years, or I've been doing affirmations, I've been doing the things and I'm stuck and why am I not getting results? And again, is your work different and how is it different? And you know, people will say that.

All of the time, it's just a very common question that we get every day. And so on that note, I want to explore the top three reasons that people don't get results when they're in this place where they're already trying all of the things and working on them. But they're staying stuck. And so the number one thing is the awareness of emotions.

You know, when we stop and think about emotions, a lot of times we kind of, in our culture, have underestimated the importance of emotions. You know, if you think about it for a moment, you've heard me talk about on past episodes, you know, that emotions control more than we realize in our bodies. You know, emotions have the power to shift our energy.

And well, a lot of people may think, you know, energy is just woo woo, which don't get me wrong. I love woo woo, but a lot of times people don't realize there's actually science to them. There's research studies that show that our minds have the ability to influence biophotons. And research has shown that biophotons have the ability to influence cellular proliferation, so healing in the body, and have the ability to communicate information throughout the body, such as homeostasis.

And so our own mind and our own body Emotions have the ability to influence bio photons and also emotions have the ability to trigger the release of positive biochemistry such as, you know, dopamine, which has been shown to improve or speed up wound healing. And point being is that we can see that emotions have the ability to influence our health in a variety of different ways.

And yet all of the time. They're overlooked. Even when people are working with the mind, they may have a tendency to feel that they need to sort of check out. And that's something that I'll see people do all of the time. And that leads to the second insight that I want to share is that all of the time I'll see people who are doing things with their mind that are really keeping them stuck and they don't even realize it.

And one simple example that I see all of the time is this, I'll see people who are working on a state of meditation and they're bringing in a strong feeling. of stillness. And as we know, feelings, emotions get stored up in our body. So we'll have emotions where somebody can have, you know, maybe unfortunately, a trauma emotion or an anxiety emotion or a negative emotion.

We can also have positive emotions, love, connection, confidence, happiness, joy. And when it comes to things like meditation, we can bring in feelings of stillness or emptiness. And that's a lot of times what I see people do is they'll bring in a strong feeling of emptiness, of stillness. Now, when you stop and think about it for a moment.

Life is not still. Life is full of life. And, you know, if you imagine for a moment, if you were sitting in the grass, and if you look around as you're sitting in the grass, what would you see? You would see bugs crawling through the grass. You would see that the soil is alive. You would see trees are alive, and breathing, and grass, and the breeze, and the sun.

And you would actually see Bring in the awareness that our world is spinning and rotating around the sun. And so when we look at life, life is very alive and full of life. And yet a lot of times people may be working with their mind in a way that is not connecting them to life. Instead, maybe they're bringing a feeling of stillness.

or emptiness, or like they're on a different planet, or something like that, in which case that is disconnecting them from life. And I can't tell you how often I've seen people before where they have a feeling of hollowness inside, where they feel like they're spiritual and they're connecting with spirituality, and it's like, And yet they've been programming into themselves and their nervous system a strong feeling of emptiness.

And so then they feel disconnected from life and disconnected from people. And at the same time, they're trying to connect with life. And so it's like this hollow emptiness or even sadness or disconnect from humanity, from life, from people. is building up inside. And this can affect a person in so many ways.

I mean, not only are they disconnecting from life, but I've seen people create a sadness where they feel, you know, they've been doing it so much that there's a sadness and emptiness to disconnect from life. Or even if they're in a relationship, suddenly now they're having a harder time really connecting with their spouse.

So their relationship can feel. More and more empty and I've seen people where their spouses. feel like they're in a relationship by themselves because suddenly their partner is now meditating all of the time and then their spouse is becoming disconnected and feels alone in the relationship and that is something that I'm seeing more and more or another thing that I'll see is I'll see people who are spending a lot of time in meditation and then creating such a feeling of stillness that then when they're trying to engage with life itself They feel easily overwhelmed.

They feel like life is so chaotic and stressed and overwhelmed that it's actually creating more feelings of stress and chaos and overwhelm. It's like going from, you know, a very quiet, quiet, quiet place of stillness of emptiness to then life and all of the motion of life. And they feel easily overwhelmed and stressed, which then of course, as you could imagine, a person from healing because of these feelings of overwhelm or disconnect.

You know, when we stop and think about it for a moment, we as human beings, we need connection. We need to connect with life. We need human connection. You know, it's well known, research has shown over and over again, that feelings of Loneliness can be linked to all kinds of health issues. And interestingly, I see a lot of times people going into a state of meditation and really programming in feelings of loneliness.

Now, I do want to say, I don't want to speak poorly about meditation, just like with anything else. There can be great forms of meditation and there can be not so great forms of meditation. But the thing that we'll want to note here is a lot of times I'll see people who are working with their minds in a way that ends up keeping them stuck, or even feeling drawn to the negative over and over and over again.

And you know, when you stop and think about it for a moment, if you've listened to past episodes and you hear me working with people to help them to shift their mind, to create a radical change, to release their pain and create healing in their lives, if you stop and think about it. You'll hear me interrupting people.

Now, of course, my human habits, my caring, kind, human habits, I'm not wanting to interrupt somebody. And at the same time, I know that if I don't interrupt them, that they're not going to get the results that they want because Their mind needs to work in a different way. And so when you hear me interrupting somebody, it's because all of the time their mind is programmed to go back into the negative and to repeat and go into the negative over and over and over again.

And so when I interrupt them, it's because I'm wanting to stop them from going back into the negative. And so my point being is the second insight is that we have to make sure that we're getting our minds to not go into the negative or to not do something that is reinforcing the problem in one way or another, just because I see that all of the time.

And in my own life, when I was working on healing myself, I was off course for many, many years. I was doing all of the wrong things until I started realizing I was doing the wrong things and so it was a combination of really realizing what I needed to do and also what I needed to stop doing that was really pivotal because I had developed some habits in working with my mind.

that weren't serving me. And so creating that change was key. And that's the second insight. Now that leads into the third insight that is overlooked all of the time. And it's this is that we really need to make sure that we're thinking in terms of specific emotional patterns. And the reason I emphasize this is because.

All of the time when people try to work with their mind, maybe they're not looking at the awareness that there are specific emotions. That is key. Or, they're not aware that there are patterns that keep running, and so they don't really ultimately shift the pattern, but they just try to work on the trauma itself.

And so, ultimately, what you'll want to think about is thinking in terms of specific patterns. You'll want to ask yourself, have you really changed the specific patterned pattern? way of thinking and feeling, because that can be tricky. Meaning this, let's say that somebody has a pattern of hurt towards a parent.

Now, a lot of times they may think, okay, well I have to clean up just this issue and it's the parent's problem. Like, oh, this is, this is what my mom did to me and it is a trauma. Or this is what my dad did to me and it is a trauma. But what they don't realize is that we have to clean up beyond the trauma, so to speak.

Instead, there's ultimately a patterned way of thinking and feeling under that. And that is key. Expand on this a bit more, I would say this, is that if you think about somebody, one person may go through a situation and they may feel a sense of victim or terrified, whereas another person may go through a trauma and they may feel a sense of pride and hardship, or another person may go through a trauma and they may feel a sense of fight, like they want to fight the situation.

My point being, as you can see that each person can go through a specific event and feel in a completely different way. Just like one person may get feedback from somebody on a project and feel like it is valuable information, whereas another person may get feedback on a project and they may feel criticized.

And another person may get feedback on the project and go into a pattern of self criticism. So if you notice for a moment from feedback, people could feel a variety of different ways from grateful for the feedback, to criticized and attacked, to criticizing themselves and a whole host of other emotions.

My point being, is that ultimately, instead of feeling hurt or wounded by each situation, we also really need to understand how our own minds are taking in the information and look at the habitual way of thinking and feeling. And really transform that. So that is key. Now, if we go back to the first insight, you'll notice that this entire episode is a lot of information on emotions.

And of course, when we stop and look at our culture for a moment, we have a lot of false beliefs about emotions. A lot of people, unfortunately, have been experiencing more stress, more trauma, more hurt, more overwhelm, more depression, you know, we'll really want to change that. I mean, there are so many misconceptions that people have when it comes to working with the mind that really do keep them stuck.

I mean, even the other day I saw a comment on Facebook where somebody says, it's okay if you feel up and down, that's okay. Just what you ultimately want to do is just really learn to accept these emotions every day. And so we hear this messaging and we want to like this messaging because then it feels compassionate and caring.

But the truth of it is, is if you follow this advice, in my opinion, you would never be able to heal yourself. When I see people heal themselves is when they really stay out of the negative patterns completely. You know, that the mind is programmed to not go there. And that's when I see. People heal themselves and get radical results.

That's what I did when I was able to heal myself, is that you just, you really rewire the mind, so it's not going there. Now, I know as soon as I say this, for some people that may sound impossible, but when you stop and think about it, it's specific. Meaning, we go back to the importance of specific Emotional patterns, meaning that I could talk to some people and say, well, how often do you go into a pattern of rage?

And they would say, never, that's not my pattern. Or I could talk to other people and say, well, how often do you get so upset you punch a hole in the wall? And they say, well, that's, that's not my pattern. Or other people I could talk to and say, well, how often do you go into an extreme feeling of anger? And they Panic and anxiety.

And they would say, well, that's not my pattern. And that's my point, is that to heal, we must identify the specific patterns and then stay out of them and genuinely rewire the mind so it doesn't want to go into them at all. And that means we must overcome false cultural beliefs that say things like, it's okay if you're happy one day and sad the next, as long as you just accept it.

Because ultimately, that can keep you from healing. And I see that happen all the time. All of the time. And you know, if you think about past episodes where you see people getting radical results, it is because that's what we're doing. We're shifting their emotions in a very strong way. And you'll always hear me say with people, you must make sure to follow through and make this your new norm.

That is key. And so the insight or the takeaway that I want to invite you to take from today's episode is just the awareness of asking yourself if you feel like you're connecting more and more with life, with people, with love, with self, with universe, with nature, with, you know, life inside and emotionally.

And the reason that I emphasize. Emotionally is because all of the time I'll see people who think that they're connecting more with nature because they're spending more time, you know, thinking about nature or going for hikes, but simultaneously they continue to bring in a feeling of stillness deep inside to where they're actually emotionally disconnecting.

from nature. And that may sound completely odd, but remember, our emotions don't always make logical sense. You know, going back to something you'll hear me say all the time, the awareness, you know, that a person may feel guilty and they may say, well, I know that I shouldn't feel guilty, but I still do. Or even, you know, a cutter who unfortunately cuts themselves.

can experience a feeling of relief or euphoria from cutting themselves. And that doesn't make logical sense that a person would feel relief or even control or safety from cutting themselves, but that can get linked up. And so similarly, it doesn't make sense that a person could spend more time in nature and simultaneously feel more and more disconnected from life.

But I see it all the time. Whether it's disconnected from life, disconnected from the planet, disconnected from people, a feeling of aloneness or stillness on the inside. And life is not still, you know, we're literally rotating around the sun and spinning, you know. This world is anything but still, it is so full of life.

All around us. And so that's the insight that I want to invite you to take from this episode is just being aware and taking in the feeling of life, being willing to take time each day to take in life and feel alive and feel the life and the connection with people and the emotional connection and the connection to our planet and our world and the movement in it and the aliveness and the breath.

of the planet, the breath of the, you know, the, the world, there's a heartbeat to it, a liveliness of it. And I want to invite you to take in that awareness and really feel it, feel it in your heart, in your body, just in your being.
