Hello, and welcome to this week's quick IQ episode, where we talk about insights and questions. And today I have a quick question from a listener on Instagram that is a really great question. And so I'm going to go ahead and read it. And she says, do you know what I'm noticing? Others don't like the new you.

I'm not engaging that really irritates people. My mind is definitely less active and calmer. So first and foremost, I love that you're making progress. I love that you're becoming the new you and that you're stepping into it and that your mind is less active and calmer. And I just love that so much for you.

So I love the progress and it's so beautiful. And I want to answer this question, not just for this beautiful, beautiful being on Instagram, but for everybody. So I'm going to add multiple insights to this just because this one comment is so important. You know, first and foremost, when we think about the awareness that in life, We need love.

We need connection and we need to feel good. And so if you are noticing that as you're growing and you're going through life and transforming that people aren't liking you, you're going to want to notice. if there is a way to adjust and notice if there's something that you're doing. Meaning this, obviously I'm not talking about people pleasing and making everybody happy and doing all that.

So we don't want that, but we also have to take in the awareness that we as human beings need love, that we require love. You know, if you think about the awareness, you know, if an infant doesn't get enough love. They can actually die, or a senior who loses a spouse also has a much higher rate of death following their loss.

And not only that, but loneliness has actually been linked to increased illnesses. And you know, there's a lot of research as to the importance of love. And so my point is, first and foremost, I'm not saying to become a people pleaser, but that you want to make sure that you are connecting with some people and you'll want to make a point to do so.

And not only that, but sometimes what can happen is if you're working on your own transformation and you're feeling like, people don't like the new you, then maybe there's something you can tweak to make the experience more blissful. You know, for me personally, this is one of the things that I did. You know, when I was going through my major transformation healing, I did separate myself from people who were not as healthy for me and were more in the negative.

So I very much did that, but I also started connecting even more with people who were positive and making a point to connect with people in a positive way to make that transition smooth. And, you know, even one of the things that I did as I was getting better, I started going to the gym and when I first started going to the gym to build up strength, I mean, I was still working on walking without a cane or walker and all of that.

So I was, I was not so balanced on my feet too well. And so I would go into the gym with my walker and, and I would start, I was just, you know, working on lifting weights and I would just hold the weights for a minute and I would leave. But I started even connecting with people in the gym and, you know, because I was working with my mind, the amount of progress that I made in the gym was incredible.

I actually had this, these two bodybuilders come up to me who were like, grandmaster champion bodybuilder, you know, award winning bodybuilders. And they had been watching me in the gym and they said, you know, we've never seen anybody make as much progress as you have in the amount of time that you have made this progress.

We've been watching you and this is incredible. And they said, you know, if you want to join us and work out with us, you're welcome to do so at any time. And of course I was like, yes. And so before you know it, I went from like wheelchair walker Kane to working out with bodybuilders, lifting all of this weight.

Point being is that I started making friends and connections in the in the direction that I was going and then even more friends in the gym and working out. And it became a shift in my life in a beautiful way. Now what I also did with other people in my life at that time was I started saying, Hey, if you want to hang out, you can definitely come work out with me because I knew that I was on a certain track with what I wanted to do and where my life was going and I didn't want to make them feel rejected and leave them out completely, but I also didn't want to abandon the direction of what I was doing.

And so. I invited them on my journey with me and I did have a few friends who started working out with me. Also, we would go for runs and all kinds of fun things that were like, okay, let's do this. And then other friends, not as much, which was perfect. It was the transition that I needed to kindly include people in the new direction that I was going, but also not abandon people.

my dreams and my focus. Cause I was laser focused on getting better and where I was going. Now, there are a few points that you'll want to note from this. You know, first, if you are transitioning your life in a different direction, number one, that is awesome. I love that you're doing that. And it's beautiful.

And all of the time people will have social groups that aren't necessarily going to take you and allow you to really change your life the way you You're wanting to, so it's a great thing that you're moving your life in a new direction. And that's awesome. And secondly, what you want to keep in mind is that as you do move it in a new direction, you're going to want to make sure that you have connection in the new direction and that you're establishing new connection or you're working on it at least.

And the reason being again, is that we need love. And you may have heard me use this analogy before, but the easiest way to think about love and connection and the awareness that we need love is to think about a plant or a tree. If you've ever seen it grow towards the sun, that's because of course a plant or a tree needs the sun.

And we as human beings, we require love. And so even if we consciously want to just move away from everybody and avoid everybody, the subconscious mind will want to move us in a direction of love and connection. And so if we're headed away from love, we can end up also heading towards illness. Just like if a plant was a long period of time without the sun.

it can look very sickly. And so we're the same in that we need that energy from the sun, of course, but also from love. And so again, just reinforcing that as you make that transformation, you'll want to make sure to set up new connections in your direction. Further. If you're feeling like others don't like the new you, see if there's something that you can modify a bit.

And I'm not saying that you need to hang out with them. You know, in my case, I invited people to the gym and I knew that some of them were not going to come to the gym and it was my way of still being nice to include them, even though I knew that they weren't going to show up. In which case it didn't feel like rejection to them.

Instead, I was inviting them on a new path, kind of, you know, of course expecting that they weren't going to do it. And if they did, great. You know, it was a different direction. But, at least it wasn't a feeling of rejection. And so, that's the part you'll want to note, is because if you're telling yourself that others don't like the new you, then it's going to be harder for you to grow.

And by the way, that a lot of times is what can happen, is somebody can experience a feeling of suddenly feeling rejected. were unloved by you. So they feel hurt. They feel upset. And it's not that they don't like the new you, it's that they don't like the feelings that they're experiencing. The hurt, the rejection, the left out, whatever that feeling is.

And so again, if you can invite them on the positive path, that is one way to do it. Or another way to do it is just to kindly express to them that you love them, that you care about them. And that's it. That you're in a place where you're just needing to take care of you. And if you do so in a way that doesn't make them feel hurt or rejected, it becomes more harmonious.

And by the way, I did that also where I literally called other people in my life and I said, Hey, you know what? I'm going to check out for a bit. I'm just going to focus on me and that's what I'm going to do for the next couple of months. And I'm going to talk to you soon, but I just got to focus on me.

And some of those relationships, they just kind of faded away after a little bit and they needed to. But point being, as you're going through a transformation, you're going to want to be consciously aware of the fact that we need love and make sure that you have that in your life. You know, another way to think about it is that imagine if everybody's walking around And they don't know that we need oxygen because it's invisible.

And they decide to go to a place with no oxygen. That poses a problem that is not good for health, right? But the same is true with love as well. You know, even on a positive note, when we get plenty of love, there is research that shows that love and community can help us live better. longer and happier.

And not only that, but love and connection can help release neurotransmitters and, you know, dopamine, for example, which can help to regulate sleep and mood and happiness and appetite and sex drive. And, you know, so it's good, healthy chemicals in your body. So you want to make sure to just be conscious, just like you get oxygen and food and water, that you're also getting love and connection.

And that you have that in your transformation because that will support your growth exponentially. And it doesn't mean it has to be the old crew or the old friends, especially if you're doing something like getting sober or, you know, making a radical life change. It's good to change, uh, your relationships and you'll want to.

change and make sure that you're supported with healthy relationships, but making sure that it's something that you're focused on in creating your transformation. Now, I do have to say, there are a certain percentage of people who are going to say, you know, love, isn't that important? Or I don't need it, or I don't really want to focus on love and connection in life.

Or maybe even as people are stepping into their success, they're feeling a bit arrogant or superior. But what can happen if you've ever done this, where you started to make a transformation where you were in the process of, you know, transforming your life or something wonderful was happening, but something sabotaged it, like something negative happened, this, that, the other, whatever it is, something negative manifested that derailed you a lot of times What's happening?

Is there some type of subconscious block, if you will, towards heading into the full level of success or the full level of transformation? You can have a setback. Maybe it's a health issue, a manifest, you know, something negative in life, whatever it is. And there can be several different factors that can cause that, you know, being out of alignment or subconscious fears and also subconscious feelings of lack of love.

And so just wanting to really emphasize that is the importance of love and you don't want to manifest any negative thing that is going to stop you from really embodying the transformation. And so point being is that there are hidden factors that drive our energy and love is one of those hidden subconscious factors that drives what you manifest.

You know, even if you think about the last episode where I worked with Andrew and he was just such a beautiful volunteer, but noticing that he had a lot of pride in hardship, and also feeling like ease wasn't that impressive. And if you think about how many different subconscious links that he had, the awareness, our subconscious links can really drive our lives.

is powerful and how much that can influence our lives is powerful. And so very simply, what it all boils down to is one thing. And it's this, you want to make sure to tell yourself that the new you is very loved and is going to be very loved and more and more love in your life. Also, make a point, if you can, to work through your relationship transformation in a very harmonious way, so it feels good.

Because the more harmonious it is, the easier it is to grow, expand, and transform. So, that, of course, is key, and, by the way, On that note, as always, I'm going to invite you to hit the share button on this episode and share with somebody you love or even somebody who you want to maybe go on that transformation journey with you.

Somebody who might be a transformation buddy who you might say, okay, look, let's do this together. Let's both start working out a couple of times a week. And let's both do that together, or let's both really work on a 30 day happiness diet where we are going to talk about nothing but positivity for the next 30 days.

We're just going to focus on exactly that. Or let's go on a diet, so to speak, of a happiness celebration diet where every day you purposely make a point to celebrate anything great. that's happened in your day. You know, this simple act of doing exactly that can help you to add even more positivity and make it even easier to transform your happiness and your life.
