What if confidence, joy, or even feeling important triggers your mind to protect you with pain?
It sounds counterintuitive, but it’s exactly what makes mind-body healing so powerful.
In this breakthrough live coaching session, mind-body expert Brandy Gillmore works with Samantha, a brave 18-year-old facing chronic pain, nausea, and two rare vascular conditions. But as the session unfolds, it becomes clear that the real root of her pain isn’t just physical — it’s emotional.
Together, they uncover the deeper subconscious blocks such as self-criticism, insecurity, unworthiness, and even fear of confidence that have been holding her body in a state of pain.
In this episode, you’ll discover:
Whether you’re struggling with chronic illness, emotional trauma, or you’ve tried everything and still aren’t healing — this episode can offer the shift you’ve been looking for.
Learn how to unlock your body’s healing potential by mastering your mind, emotions, and energy.
Because true healing isn’t just physical… it’s emotional. And it starts within. Come join us!
IMPORTANT NOTE: We understand that some may believe mind-body healing is impossible. Therefore, if you would like to see images of individuals using their minds to relieve pain, you can check out this medical journal. It includes images from some of Brandy's case studies. If you want to learn how to use your mind to heal yourself, you can check out the training on Brandy's website. Each week, Brandy publishes a volunteer episode where she coaches a volunteer to heal themselves using their own mind. In addition, Brandy shares a quick IQ episode (Insights and Questions) where she answers listener questions or delves deeper into insights on working with the mind for healing.

Welcome to Heal Yourself, Change Your Life. My name is Brandy Gillmore, and after recovering from my own life-changing injury, it’s become my mission to share with others the same discoveries I made that changed my health and my entire life. Our minds are truly incredible. The placebo is proof of this.
Each week I will take this simple awareness to a whole new level. I’ll even coach live callers to free themselves of physical pain using only their mind, and then I’ll provide you with a combination of practical and spiritual insights that you can use to master your mind, your emotions, and your energy to help you heal your health, yourself, and your life.
Let’s begin.
Hello and welcome. It is so wonderful to connect with you. I just love that you are here continuing to expand your mind, your energy, your consciousness, your healing. I just love it and I just love today’s volunteer.
You know, so often you hear me talk about the mind being counterintuitive, in that that’s the reason that it can feel so hard to get results with healing yourself or changing your life—it’s just because not everything makes logical sense, or at least not traditional logical sense.
You know, the mind has a different type of logic, and that is one of the many things that I really love about today’s episode. You can see just how counterintuitive the mind can be and how it can block you from the very things that you’re wanting—and also block you from healing. But also how there can be deeper levels of hurt that can really keep you stuck, where different things can create a quote-unquote trauma, or… you know, a breakup can affect how you feel about yourself or whatnot. I mean, there’s just so many different layers in today’s episode, and that’s one of the many things that I love.
And by the way, you know, I’ve worked with people for over 15 years with a variety of different illnesses, from pain to digestive, to autoimmune, to bedridden, to all kinds of things—and see people heal themselves from just incredible things all of the time. And the counterintuitive part is always the part of getting over that piece to really rewire the mind, but also to address why the mind is stuck. And so that is one of those things that you can see here: the mind is stuck for a reason. So again, just very insightful.
And our volunteer—you are absolutely going to love her. Her name is Samantha. And by the way, she’s also very young, and what I love about that is that the perspective from it can be so good for your younger self, your current self, your future self. But also even if you have children—I mean, there are just so many different insights that you can gain from today’s episode.
And so on that note, let’s go ahead and dive in with our beautiful volunteer, Samantha. Here we go.
Brandy: Hi.
Samantha: Hello.
Brandy: Hi. It’s wonderful to connect with you. How can I help you today, beautiful?
Samantha: I don’t know. I came with no expectations.
Brandy: So what are you working on?
Samantha: On my health. It has not been well for the last two years. I have two rare diseases—vascular compressions. And I’ve been sick for a bit more than the last two years, every day. Um… yeah, I came across you, so I figured I’ll give it a try.
Brandy: Okay. Okay. And so you mentioned vascular compressions?
Samantha: Mm-hmm.
Brandy: So what all is going on and what are your current symptoms right now?
Samantha: So basically, um, it feels like I’m food poisoned every day of my life. I get nauseous after everything I eat. I get so much pain in my stomach. Um, so it’s just pain and nausea all day, every day.
Brandy: Yeah, that’s not fun. I don’t recommend that for anybody.
Samantha: No, it’s not a good idea.
Brandy: No. Okay. And if I ask you, what are your current symptoms right now?
Samantha: Nausea and pain, like usual.
Brandy: Okay. And if I ask you, what’s your level right now, zero to ten?
Samantha: Two or three.
Brandy: Okay. And, uh, give me one second… bingo. And if I ask you where you’re feeling the most amount of pain, where would you say that is?
Samantha: Um, in the upper part of my stomach.
Brandy: Bingo. Okay. And… there we go. All right. And… are you currently in a relationship?
Samantha: Yes.
Brandy: Okay. And how long have you been in your current relationship?
Samantha: About seven months. Not a lot.
Brandy: Okay. And… bingo. And how old are you right now?
Samantha: 18.
Brandy: 18. Mm-hmm. Okay. So there’s a feeling about… give me one second. Bingo… about two and a half years ago, a little over two and a half years ago. It’s like a heartbreak type of rejection feeling. Do you know what I’m talking about?
Samantha: Yeah. Yeah. But it doesn’t feel like—maybe earlier—I don’t know.
Brandy: Okay. So give me one second. Um… give me one second. Bingo… One of them—there’s June of 2022. Do you know which one that is?
Samantha: Uh, yes.
Brandy: Bingo. Okay. Can you give me the initial of that person?
Samantha: The, like, the first letter?
Brandy: Yeah, the first letter.
Samantha: S.
Brandy: Bingo. There we go. Okay. So I’m going to ask you to breathe. And so, if I ask you how devastating that was for you, what would you say?
Samantha: Very. Very.
Brandy: Okay. And if I ask you how much that situation made you feel like you weren’t good enough, what would you say?
Samantha: A lot.
Brandy: A lot. Now, is that true?
Samantha: Um, is it true that I’m actually not good enough? No.
Brandy: Okay. Bingo. If I ask you, zero to ten, how much you can find a feeling of disliking the self, what would you say?
Samantha: Zero to ten? Like… eight.
Brandy: Mm-hmm. Why would you do that? Why would you do that? What are you going to dislike about self?
Samantha: I don’t know. Right now, I wouldn’t say I dislike self, but I used to. I feel like I used to a lot.
Brandy: Okay. And why did you use to dislike self?
Samantha: I feel like I wasn’t good enough for other people and, um, not as important maybe.
Brandy: Okay. So I’m going to ask you to breathe. Of course, you know that that’s true, right? You are not very important at all, and you’re not as good as everybody else. Everybody else is made from premium people parts, and you—you’re made from like spare parts.
So I’m going to ask you to breathe. And of course, that would be silly, right? We’re all made from the same thing, right?
We’re all made from the same thing. So I’m going to ask you to breathe. So if there’s ever things that you want to change about yourself, you continue to change and grow and transform and develop and all of these things, but you wouldn’t hate self. That would be silly, right?
It’s kind of like this: when you were a baby, did you spit up on yourself?
Samantha: I don’t know.
Brandy: I mean, probably at some point, right? You probably made a mess or whatever else—probably at some point. Now, instead of hating self, you just kind of grow, right?
So I’m going to ask you to breathe. I want you to think about that theme for a moment. So instead of ever hating self, there’s never a reason to hate self or dislike self or feel less than—because you can always grow. Right?
Samantha: Mm-hmm.
Brandy: Great. So I’m going to ask you to breathe. Now, if you can always grow—and you can always grow—it’s like a tree. A tree is always growing, right?
So a tree can continue to grow. We as people continue to grow and shape who we are, right?
Samantha: Mm-hmm.
Brandy: So it would be silly for you to hate yourself, or dislike self, or be mean to self, or feel unimportant, because you can always grow and be and do and expand, right?
Samantha: Mm-hmm.
Brandy: Bingo. So I’m going to ask you to breathe. And so you could dislike self, and you could feel unimportant—or you could support self and you could feel completely important. Bingo. So I’m going to ask you to breathe. Bingo.
Brandy: And if I ask you, zero to ten, how critical of self you are, what would you say?
Samantha: Nine.
Brandy: Okay. So I’m going to ask you to breathe.
Samantha: [Breathes]
Brandy: Why?
Samantha: I don’t know. I feel like it’s my fault that I can’t get healthy, and I’m still stuck in this illness.
Brandy: Okay. So I’m going to ask you to breathe. But if I ask you also—even in school—if I ask you how much you always felt a feeling of insecurity, what would you say from zero to ten?
Samantha: Like eight.
Brandy: Mm-hmm. Why?
Samantha: I was bullied a lot.
Brandy: Okay. So I’m going to ask you to breathe.
Brandy: And if I ask you why you were bullied, what would you say?
Samantha: Everything—my appearance and also how I act and everything.
Brandy: Okay. Now if I ask you, what would you say the problem is with how you act?
Samantha: I don’t think there is any problem.
Brandy: Okay. So if I ask you why others had a problem with it, why would you say that is?
Samantha: I truly don’t know.
Brandy: Okay. Bingo. If I ask you if there’s a part of you who felt not good enough—and also superior to others—what would you say?
Samantha: Yeah.
Brandy: Yeah. And if I ask you, zero to ten, how much you also felt superior to others, what would you say?
Samantha: Like six.
Brandy: Okay. Now out of curiosity, do you think that bothered others when you were walking around and acting superior?
Samantha: I don’t think so. I don’t think I was acting superior.
Brandy: Okay. Now out of curiosity, if somebody felt like they were superior to you, do you think you’d notice?
Let’s say there was somebody who was sitting right next to you, and she felt like she was better than you at a level six, seven, or eight—do you think you would notice?
Samantha: Yeah.
Brandy: You’d probably notice. But if she wasn’t acting it—if she felt that way, like she was better than you at a six, seven, or eight—how much do you think you’d notice that?
Samantha: I think I would.
Brandy: Okay. How would you feel about that?
Samantha: I wouldn’t want to be her friend.
Brandy: No, probably not, right?
Samantha: Mm-hmm.
Brandy: So if she felt like she’s better than you at a six, seven, or eight, would you want to connect with her or go connect with other people?
Samantha: Other people.
Brandy: Other people, right. So I’m going to ask you to breathe.
Brandy: And by the way, if that person sitting next to you, so to speak, didn’t feel superior at all—how much would you want to connect with her?
Samantha: I mean, if they felt like kind and friendly and didn’t—and just kind and friendly, but no superiority, not feeling like they’re better than you?
Brandy: Mm-hmm.
Samantha: Oh, then I would.
Brandy: You would, right? So I’m going to ask you to breathe.
Brandy: What would happen if you got rid of the feeling of superiority—and also the feeling of inferiority? What would happen if you got rid of both of these feelings?
Samantha: I would feel more free, I think.
Brandy: You’d feel more free. What else?
Samantha: I would be able to connect more with people.
Brandy: Yeah. Beautiful. So I’m going to ask you to breathe.
Brandy: What if instead of feeling inferior, or superior, or comparing, what if instead you just genuinely loved people—and loved yourself?
Samantha: That would be better.
Brandy: That would be better. So I’m going to ask you to breathe. And if I ask you to take in the feeling of: “You know what? I’m not going to compare myself to others, or feel less than, or better than. I’m just going to feel good being me.”
What if you were just really good at being Samantha? Not trying to be better than anybody, not less than—just beautifully, authentically you. How would that feel?
Samantha: Freeing.
Brandy: Freeing. So I’m going to ask you to breathe.
Brandy: So I want you to think about what it would feel like to just truly embrace you. To stop judging, to stop disliking yourself, to stop comparing—just to embrace yourself with love, with kindness. Can you find that feeling?
Samantha: Mm-hmm.
Brandy: Beautiful. So I’m going to ask you to breathe. Take that in. Really embody that feeling. Good. Good. Beautiful.
So if I ask you your level of pain right now, what’s your level?
Samantha: Zero.
Brandy: Zero. Beautiful. How about the nausea?
Samantha: It’s almost gone, like one maybe.
Brandy: One. So I’m going to ask you to breathe. Great. Great job with your energy. Great job.
Brandy: Now, I want to go a bit deeper here. Because you’re doing a great job shifting, and you can see how much the mind impacts the body—but there’s more. If I ask you how much you’ve felt like it’s your responsibility to suffer to make others feel better, what would you say?
Samantha: Yeah… I feel like that a lot.
Brandy: Bingo. So I’m going to ask you to breathe. Now, notice that programming. That emotion. That sacrifice. Is that something you want to keep doing?
Samantha: No.
Brandy: So I’m going to ask you to breathe and let it go. Just say in your mind: “I release that now. It’s not helping anyone. It’s not helping me. I can help people more by being healthy, not sick.”
Samantha: Okay.
Brandy: Good. So I’m going to ask you to breathe. And just really embody that new energy. No more guilt. No more sacrifice. Just love, connection, and health.
Brandy: What’s your level now, pain and nausea?
Samantha: Zero.
Brandy: Zero. Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. Great job.
Brandy: So I want you to notice for a moment how powerful your mind is. Just by shifting your thoughts, your emotions, your energy—your body responded. That’s incredible, right?
Samantha: Yeah, it’s kind of unbelievable.
Brandy: It is. But also, it’s real. And you did that. So I want you to take that in. Feel proud of yourself. You showed up, you were open, you allowed yourself to shift. You connected with your emotions, and you really started to release them. Beautiful job.
Brandy:
It does take a real genuine change, but that is also the gift. I mean, imagine if you think about her life and you think about her making this real change from this pattern. How much that opens up her entire life and her future and her love and her happiness and her joy and her healing and so many things.
And so that’s what I also love about healing ourselves is exactly that, is when we address what’s really going on, not only can it heal our body. It changes our life. And so that of course, is my hope for you as well. That whatever you’re working on, you really heal it, take it to the next level, it heals your body, changes your life.
And as always, I wanna ask you to please do take just a quick moment to hit the share button on this episode. You know, share it with somebody you love, somebody you care about, or somebody you don’t even know. Because the more that every single person in our world is happy, and healthy, and loved and loving.
The better this world is for all of us. And so please do take just a quick moment to hit the share button and please do make a point to have a most wonderful, incredible rest of your day, and I look forward to connecting with you on the next episode. We’ll see you there.

If today’s episode touched your heart or expanded your mind in any way, please do me a favor and be sure to share it with those you care about or those you know who really need it. As more and more people become empowered, it really will change our world for the better. That is the point and the power of these demonstrations is to create a radical shift in our world consciousness by showing everyone what we are all capable of.
And of course, each volunteer will really need to follow through to reinforce their programming, to maintain their results. But the point is. For you to see that you really can create rapid results in your health and your life if you really understand how to use your mind. You are incredible. And I do wanna be clear though, that most people will not get results this fast on their own.
I make it look very easy because of the discoveries that I made. You’ll wanna remember that there’s so much more going on in our minds at a deeper level than people realize.
