Welcome to Heal Yourself, Change Your Life. My name is Brandy Gillmore, and after recovering from my own life-changing injury, it's become my mission to share with others the same discoveries I made that changed my health and my entire. Our minds are truly incredible. The placebo is proof of this. Each week I will take this simple awareness to a whole new level.

I will even coach live callers to free themselves of physical pain using only their mind, and then I'll provide you with a combination of practical and spiritual insights that you can use to master your mind, your emotions, and your. To help you heal your health yourself and your life. Let's begin.

Hello and welcome to this week's quick IQ episode where we talk about insights and questions. And today I wanna share with you a question that I get all of the time from mums around the world who are asking about their children's energy. And of course, anytime there's an episode on children, you can always apply this information to yourself as well, and look at how this fits into your life.

And so diving into the question all of the time, people ask, how can I support my children to be happy and healthy? What is it that I could do to really help take their lives to the next level at this stage? And the last email that I just got in was a woman. Who has a five-year-old son. And so [00:02:00] that's where I'm gonna run with on today's episode just because of course, when it comes to children, there are so many things that you can do to support their wellbeing.

Now, before we dive in, I wanna just add a little disclaimer to that, and it's this, it's that, make sure not to beat yourself up as well, because when I say there are so many ways that you can support their wellbeing, absolutely that is true. And of course you also can't. Control it either. So you can do the best that you can do.

And I have worked with people who have grown up, who have gone through the same exact experience that they did with another sibling, and both siblings took two very different meanings from it. And so point being is that, you know, of course doing your best with your children is great. Also knowing that there's a spiritual path and journey they're on as well.

And so not beating yourself up for who they are [00:03:00] or who they're not, or you know, feeling like it's completely your responsibility to control them either. So I wanna say that upfront. That said, diving into something that. You could absolutely do that would be very beneficial for your kids confidence and their wellbeing and living a healthy, happy life.

It has to do with relationships and connecting and. This is the thing. You know, if you think about children when they're learning how to walk, you know what happens? They start to walk, they fall down, they get back up, they fall down, they get back up, and before you know it, they're into everything. Or even if they're learning how to read, they're speaking against sound ding, gout words, and then they get it.

Now when you think about it, when they're doing things and they're learning new skills, the whole process. Is it includes failing, but then continuing to go. So maybe they fall down, but they get back up and they fall down and [00:04:00] they get back up. Or they say a word wrong, but then eventually they speak it correctly and they can say it and they can read.

And so the process involves making mistakes to then be successful and persevere and get to the point where they can then. Follow through and get it, write and achieve it, and it's really great, right? So they end up learning how to read and write and walk and speak and all of these things. So it's an empowering process because it is focused on the success of what they're trying to do.

However, when it comes to building relationships and connecting, a lot of times the process isn't so empowering. You know, human beings, children aren't necessarily born with a ton of social skills. And then what happens is that, you know, let's say little Johnny or Little Susie or you know, whatever little kid ends up feeling left out.

Instead of it feeling like an empowering experience or an experience where they can build [00:05:00] social skills, where they can learn to connect, it feels like a failure. It can feel like, well, that's okay. You're better than them, or, that's okay. Let's just go do this instead, or you don't need them anyway. And it becomes a painful experience that then creates more patterns and negative patterns in relationships, which of course can ultimately affect a child's confidence levels and growing up, and relationships.

And of course, relationships and hurt or wounding can affect your health, your happiness, your life, all of it. And so, Thinking in terms of empowering ways of being and feeling, and. Making sure that your children have great social skills and develop social skills is so important. And how you respond to a failure, quote unquote, is important as well.

Meaning [00:06:00] that if they're learning how to walk and they fall on their butt, then you say, oh, get up. No big deal. And they, you know, they keep going. You let them keep going. Or if they're learning how to read a word and they make a mistake, you don't respond and say, who needs to learn how to read anyway? And you don't throw it away, you know, ah, reading, you don't need to know that.

But with children, you know, they don't fit in. Oh, you don't, you're better than them anyway. You're, you don't need to deal with that. Or let's just go do this Instead. What happens is it becomes a hurtful, disempowering process. So instead, if there was a response that said, okay, well, How could you fit in more?

Or what did happen that made it not go well? What could you do differently instead? To succeed, to fit in. Why? You know? And so it becomes a self-reflective process that instead feels empowering. You know, oh, I'm sorry that they hurt your feelings. What could you do better next time? What could [00:07:00] happen to where you do feel like you're fitting in?

What do we need to do? You know? And even supporting that. Social growth and building of social skills, because when a child is in that place where they feel empowered in relationships and they feel like they can succeed, that in and of itself can be helpful. But again, going back to the awareness that, you know, it's like there's support and walking, support and reading, supporting, learning how to write, but social skills are so important for life and a lot of times.

There's not the same structure and support in building those. And you know, even if you think about it for a moment, we live in a world with 8 billion people, and yet we also have a lot of loneliness. That's an epidemic because so many people have wounding, have patterns, have disconnected, feel disconnected or hurt inside, and it reflects into their life, [00:08:00] into their social patterns.

And so, That's the insight that I wanna bring today is exactly that, is being very acutely aware of the process around social skills and not reinforcing a disempowering setting, but instead, if something doesn't go well, you know, if somebody feels rejected or hurt or left out or not included and it doesn't go well, instead of.

It being a failure that, oh, well, let's just go do something else instead of it being something that's not achievable, that they can't fit in instead. Looking at how it could really feel good and feel like a place to grow and feel empowered. That feeling, that awareness, that building of social skills will be so good for children, for their happiness, for their health, because, you know, relationships can be part of the most.

Beautiful parts of life. You know, laughing [00:09:00] with people and connecting and enjoying and loving and celebrating and enjoying can be really, really beautiful. And by the way, as I mentioned in the very beginning, anything that you can apply to your children, you can also apply to your yourself as well. Now, That being said, you know, developing social skills even more, if that feels like an area that's off for you.

And by the way, I can tell you that after Covid, when people were in lockdown for a period of time, some people literally said exactly that. They said, you know, I don't even feel like I know how to be around people anymore. I feel like I've lost all my social skills. You know, a lot of people were saying, this feels weird, so maybe that's it.

And of course, If you are an adult who has unfortunately had patterns that have been painful as far as relationships, then by this point, typically it's gonna take, you know, of course, developing more skills, but also genuinely transforming those [00:10:00] patterns because once those patterns are established, Then what happens is that no matter what you do, it feels like they continue to show up.

You try to fit in here or you try to connect there, or you know, just you're always attracting people or circumstances or situations that unfortunately end up. Going sideways or feeling painful or not working out the way you wanted him to. So of course, focusing on the inside patterns and transforming those as well.

And so that's today's quick IQ episode is that, I mean, what would happen as, especially in today's world with all of this technology and so many kids who. In addition to not having the social skills are also getting very addicted to technology and social media and video gaming and all of these things where they're really not developing the social skills that they need for a happy, healthy life.

And so putting in emphasis on this, bringing in the awareness of it, [00:11:00] and also having an empowered process. Towards social skills and developing social skills where if something does happen, it's not a big deal. You know, just like, again, just like learning how to walk. They fall in their butt, okay, dust it off.

What do we need to do to get there? It's okay. You know, that same feeling towards relationships where it's not the end of the world. It's not rejection. It doesn't mean they're not good enough. It's not horrible. It doesn't mean they're never gonna fit in. It's just. Developing the social skills to the next level that the yes, that they can fit in.

Yes, they can feel included. Yes, it can be harmonious and wonderful and fantastic and that they can do it. You know that, just that empowering feeling towards it. All right, so that's today's quick IQ episode, and. I wanna ask you, as always, please do make a point to hit the share button on this episode. You know, share it with somebody you love, somebody you care about, or somebody you don't even know.
