Welcome to Heal Yourself, change Your Life. My name is Brandy Gillmore, and after recovering from my own life changing injury, it’s become my mission to share with others the same discoveries I made. They changed my health and my entire life. Our minds are truly incredible. The placebo is proof of this.
Each week I will take this simple awareness to a whole new level. I’ll even coach live callers to free themselves of physical pain using only their mind, and then I’ll provide you with a combination of practical and spiritual insights that you can use to master your mind, your emotions, and your energy.
To help you heal your health yourself and your life. Let’s begin.
Hello and happy beautiful day to you. On today’s episode, I wanna share with you three key things that you’ll want to do to really make your life easier and also more successful, and help it flow in the direction that you are wanting to go, because of course, so often. People can feel like life is a struggle, like one thing after another, or there’s challenges, or it feels like trying to, you know, walk into wind, if you will, that there’s always the headwind that they’re trying to walk into.
And if you have felt that way towards healing or relationships or life or anything, you know, work, whatever that is for you. I wanna share with you three key things that you’ll want to do to really start to transform that. Now, the first, of course. Starts with your mindset. So all of the time people are wanting or trying to go in a direction that they have subconscious resistance to.
And so often it can be completely counterintuitive. And a simple example might be, you know, somebody who wants to be in a relationship and yet at a subconscious level, they’re fearing that. And so they have that. Push pull resistance, or even a person who wants to be happy and feels like at a deeper level, that if they’re happy that you know there maybe others will be jealous or they won’t connect as well.
And this may seem completely counterintuitive, but of course it’s hidden in the subconscious mind. Or a person might even have fear of the future. That then is creating a lot of stress towards moving forward in life. It’s like part of them wants to stay stuck and so everything feels so full of effort and they feel tired and exhausted and just wanting to sleep.
You know, that can happen too. And so, or another example is, you know, if you think about it. On a simple note, if we say you get what you expect. Now, of course it goes beyond expectation, but if somebody expects to fail or expects things to be hard, then ultimately what can happen is they can continue to take all of the steps that unfortunately lead to failure.
And so my point is, is the mindset, getting the mind aligned with expectations with subconscious programming, but really. Aligning with what you’re wanting. That is the first one is getting that alignment. Now the second one has to do with actions and really growing. Now this one, some people might have resistance to, especially if somebody’s been working on mindset.
Sometimes what people really want is they just want, you know, everything that they’re wanting to suddenly come to fruition. And while that sounds nice, there’s also an actionable part to it as well. And let’s unpack this for a moment. You know, if we think about even somebody who’s going through school like a fifth grader who, you know they’re growing, what do they need to do?
They need to, of course, I. Continue to mature as they go to high school or junior high and high school, and they also need to continue to learn and grow and expand and and whatnot to be successful at it. If they don’t do either one of these, if they don’t continue to mature or they don’t continue to grow and develop and learn, then they get stuck.
Now, another way we could think about it is like this is if you picture a forest and all of the trees. Continue to grow and grow and grow and grow. And if there’s a tree that decides to not grow to stop growing, what happens? Well, it’s like it has a harder time. It struggles. It struggles to get the light because all of the other trees are continuing to grow.
So even in nature, we have to continue to grow. To continue to grow, to expand. You know, we’ve heard the term before, survival of the fit is so we could look at it like that, but it’s just in a way that we continue to grow. Or another example is like this is maybe you’ve had grandparents or older, older generation, or maybe you yourself, but has resisted technology.
And I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen people who resisted technology over and over and over again and got older and then felt very disconnected. Like, they don’t know how to use a computer. They don’t know how to use, you know, a ATM or, or whatever it is. But over the years felt very disconnected from people because they didn’t continue to grow.
So our world. Continues to grow. And even in work, I’ve seen people who maybe in their job profession, they got to a point in life where they felt like, you know, they should be able to just go and do their nine to five job and then go home and watch TV for the rest of the time, or you know, just go play and, and, which is great.
But they kind of stopped growing. And then what happened is, of course, technology and processes in life continues to change and grow. And then they feel like suddenly this younger generation is wanting their job, et cetera. And I get it, like a lot of times people will feel fear and stress and insecure in their job because they feel like somebody younger who’s got fresh ideas or more knowledgeable might take it.
And, and that’s the thing, is that just like a tree. Continues to grow and expand or even, you know, if we look at fish, I mean, there’s a survival of the fittest. There’s, you know, it’s among every animal. I’m not saying that’s, you know, that that’s what we need to do is, is not fight each other, but instead just continue to grow and expand and grow and expand.
Growing is so important and yet. All of the time, people get to a point in life where they start to kind of resist it. They say, well, this is what I do, or this is, and they resist it. And so what happens is they end up feeling like life is hard. I mean, in today’s world, if you don’t know, technology, life can feel hard.
It feels hard to accomplish almost anything because so many things are run. With technology, from banking to, you know, cell phones, to the computer, like all of these things that run with technology. So if you don’t know it, then of course it feels hard. But that’s also growing in relationships, growing and connecting.
Sometimes in a relationship, people will get married and then they feel like, oh. Well, now I’m married, I’m secure. I don’t need to keep growing. I don’t need to keep showing up in the relationship. You don’t just be, and of course you wanna be, but you wanna grow together because if you’re not growing together and, and growing and connecting, you could end up growing apart.
I. Which doesn’t help the relationship of course. And so continuing to grow personally, professionally, spiritually, emotionally, in all areas, but continuing to that personal development and actionable as well. Now, part of the reason I emphasize that is you may have seen sometimes when people get on the spiritual journey, they say, okay, well I wanna just grow emotionally and internally and just grow on the inside, but they forget about that actionable part.
And that would be like. Using the example of a child in going through school, if they said, okay, well I’m gonna continue to mature, but I’m not really gonna continue to uplevel my math skills or my English skills or my, you know, science skills or whatnot. We need to continue to grow in whatever area.
Doesn’t, you know, necessarily mean academics, but whatever area is true for our lives. Now that leads to number three. Which has to do with our feelings towards growth, internal, external transformation, but our feelings towards it, and I can tell you this personally, when I was going through my injury, I resisted change in certain ways.
Like I had this fear of change. I had some resistance to change, and I realized that I needed to overcome it inside of me. So I needed to be willing to change. Now. That can also be true externally, that falling in love with growing and our energy towards it is so important when it comes to struggle. And let me give you an example.
I gotta tell you. When I was working on my book, it took me a ton of effort. Why? Because I wanted a book that was a level 10. It was like, you read it, you feel it, you love it. That’s the book that I wanted. Now, my writing skills were much less. Why not? Because I hadn’t done all the things through, you know, and learned the academics, but because.
After I did, you know, I used to work in technology, and the biggest thing in technology is that we would write everything in abbreviation, abbreviations, shorthand, no full sentences at all. In fact, if you wrote a full sentence, it was frowned upon, like, why are you writing a full sentence? So everything was fragments and abbreviations and, and, you know, and everything.
It was just shortened shorthand. And then the same was true in making notes and chart notes and, you know, and, and so. My point being is that I had done so much shorthand writing that then writing a book was like, wait a second here. It took upleveling of skills, so I had to really grow and I enjoyed it. I enjoyed it.
Took a lot of effort. It took a lot of effort. But there’s a difference between effort and struggle. And so the effort and I started falling in love with the process of writing and growing and molding it and shaping it so much. I just started to love it. Now, let’s be honest, sometimes when people go to grow, they might say, I have to learn this, or I have to learn that, or whatnot, and so their feelings towards growth feel like a struggle.
I. So the point is, is even though this may, may seem simple, but it’s also profound, imagine your life. Imagine what your life looks like if you love to change and grow. If you feel like changing and growing, and learning is fun and exciting and good. Struggle goes away. It’s like you, you go, okay, effort might be there.
Yes, we might need effort, absolutely. But struggle goes away. Yes. We put an effort to learn, we enjoy, we grow, you know, and in embracing that. Now, by the way, I know so often I. More and more people are getting this spiritual awareness that says that we should never have to put effort into anything like E.
Everything should just come effortlessly in life. And the example or analogy that you hear me is all of the time is this, is that, imagine if you told a woman who’s nine months pregnant about to give birth to a baby that says, don’t put any effort into this. Okay, that’s a bad plan. Okay? She needs to put effort to deliver a baby.
Takes effort. So my point is. We all came into this world with some effort, you know, and so that’s our entrance into life is our mother putting forth some real effort. And also, not only that, but even learning how to, like learning how to walk. We put effort into that. And even running fast, we can put effort into that.
So my point is, is imagine when you put effort into something, sometimes it just brings out the life in you, the best in you. But if you’re loving it, if you’re enjoying it, and that again, it may seem simple or it may seem, you may find yourself having resistance to what I’m saying, like I don’t want to have.
Effort. I don’t wanna embrace effort, but imagine for a moment what it feels like to embrace effort in a way where you can even fall in love with it. You can even enjoy doing effort. Kind of like, I mean, let’s be honest, if you’ve ever gone to the gym before and had a really good workout and afterwards you felt like, ugh, you feel so alive and full of life.
Now, of course, if you’re somebody who hates the gym or hates working out, likely, you’re probably thinking, Brandi, what are you talking about? You know, I hate going to the gym. And afterwards you think, oh, I’m glad I made it through. But that’s exactly my point is one person can go to the gym and they feel like, yay.
I went to the gym, I feel so alive. You can work out and just feel like, gosh, like so full of life, and then somebody else can go to the gym and feel like, oh my God, that was the worst thing in the world. I feel like, felt like I was tortured. Okay. I. That’s also how we can feel about life is we can feel full of life.
We can feel like, oh, I did this and it’s alive, and it’s amazing and it’s wonderful, and you do things and you put forth effort and it actually really feels good and full of life. We could feel that way. In fact, I have worked with people who are literally, who were on disability for years and years and years and years.
And the idea of going back to work for them felt daunting and struggle and like, oh my gosh, like I like how can I do it? And they felt all of these feelings of insecure who are and and struggle and impossible, who are now. Running businesses or working and happy and feeling alive going, you know what? I actually love working.
I love feeling like I’m part of life and full of life and doing, and having colleagues and working and having a purpose and a, a mission, and a, a collaboration and a team and a feeling of it. So they literally. Did that exact transformation. And of course, let’s be honest, there are people who have their jobs and they hate it.
And that’s a feeling. And that’s a feeling. And that shows up. And that’s the very point is that that’s how you wanna make life. Now, by the way, me personally, I’ve actually always loved working. I started working at a young age. I was, my first, first, first job was teaching martial arts, so I did that. But then even in technology, I loved that and I loved.
Technology. I love what I do now, so working and enjoying it has always been something that that’s. Spend my pattern in life. But that’s exactly my point, is that the more we fall in love with what we’re doing, and the more that we have an attitude of wanting to grow and enjoy and do it, the more that life doesn’t feel like a struggle.
So of course, again, I. If we wanna align our minds with it. ’cause if we’re not aligned with it, then that, of course is the number one struggle right there. So that’s a recap, aligning your mind so, so, so important. Then aligning your actions, making sure that you ask what are the actions and you knew you need to continue to grow.
I. For me five years ago, what I was doing then compared to now, and, and just writing the book and, and continuing to expand and grow every day, every day. And then also falling in love with the process of growth, learning to love it, learning to enjoy it, to embrace it. That really does create an incredible flow that can help you fall in love with life.
And so those are the insights that I wanna share with you today. Why? Because I imagine if we looked around the world and everybody was in love with life and in love with growth and in love with transformation and in love with aligning with what they’re wanting and feeling full of life, I mean, it really would be incredible.
And by the way, I. The juxtaposition because so often I hear people who, you know, they want life to have no effort. They go, imagine if we looked around the world and everybody was doing nothing and just saying, well I hope I manifest this and I hope I manifest this and I hope, and they don’t wanna, you know, have a restaurant ’cause that would be effort or, or, or sell houses or do this.
Like, you know, it’s like the more that we do and be and live and are alive and full of life, you know, it’s. That’s what we want to be full of life, to live a life that is full. And so just looking at that and enjoying. And so I, and so I wanna invite you to look at this and maybe apply this to your own life, is ask yourself, you know, maybe, which one of these three areas.
Maybe meets needs the most attention in your life. And so just food for thought. But those are three critical keys that can help you to really start to create a pivotal change in your life if you really, really embrace them. So that said, it has been such a pleasure connecting with you today. Please do take just a quick moment to hit the share button on this episode.
