Welcome to Heal Yourself, Change Your Life. My name is Brandy Gillmore, and after recovering from my own life changing injury, it's become my mission to share with others the same discoveries I made. that changed my health and my entire life. Our minds are truly incredible. The placebo is proof of this.
Each week I will take this simple awareness to a whole new level. I will even coach live callers to free themselves of physical pain using only their mind. And then I'll provide you with a combination of practical and spiritual insights that you can use to master your mind and body. Your emotions and your energy to help you heal your health, yourself and your life.
Let's begin.
Hello, and welcome to this week's quick IQ episode, where we talk about insights and questions. And today I want to share with you a very powerful insight and also talk about doing a little bit of lifting, kind of at your core. And I'll do Tell you more about what that means as we dive in. But, you know, when I stop and look at my journey of healing.
Part of the thing that I needed to do to succeed was figure out how to heal myself. You know, what it was, how it works, all of that. Now, another part of my healing journey was also getting my mind out of all of the misconceptions. Because you hear a lot of things like, Oh, well, you just have to believe that you're already healed.
You know, you may have heard that misconception before on the healing journey where Sometimes you'll hear, uh, you know, the, the placebo only works because people believe that it works. But there's a few interesting facts from that. First and foremost, it's interesting to note that research shows that placebo results increase if there's a stronger rapport and connection between the doctor and the patient.
So as you can see, it's not necessarily all about belief, but not only that, but even if we look at the open label placebo, where both the doctor and the patient both know that it's a fake pill, and even that has been shown to still get results. So clearly, It's not all about belief, but of course when we start to look at beliefs, beliefs can have emotions to them.
So there's always that emotional shift going on underneath if you will. But either way, point being is that, you know, a lot of the believing that I was already healed where I was just, you know, forcing myself or, you know, it's just that There's, there's a lot of things that go on. And when I started to look at the bigger picture and look at things that didn't quite make sense, you know, that was one of them were even gratitude, that gratitude heals all, you know, you have to do is bring in gratitude.
That was definitely something that I have seen backfire a lot with people. And, you know, I've talked about that on past episodes, but a long story short, in case you have missed the past episodes on that, um, you know, if somebody has, you know, Patterns of guilt or patterns of feeling undeserving in life or feeling like a bad person can backfire and attract a lot of negative things in life or keep them more stuck.
And I've seen that all the time as well. And so, you know, just in my own life looking at what are the misconceptions, what things do don't entirely line up and why. And once I started clearing out the things that didn't make sense and bringing in the things that did make sense, it became a lot easier, even, you know, towards things like meditation and different things like that, which of course I've done past episodes on.
So I'm not going to go down that whole trail, but today the misconception that I want to share with you is this, is that. All of the time, people immediately think that if there's some major health issue going on that it has to be linked to childhood. And unfortunately, I have seen people at their wits end, in tears, just feeling broken, trying to go through every single childhood trauma.
pattern and trauma and thought that they've ever experienced just to get better. And I get it because it kind of reminded me of me where I was like, willing to go to the end of the earth to just get better. And so I had so much compassion, just watching. you know, their, their journey and all of that. And all of the time when I'll teach a class or something like that, um, that's what all the time people go, Oh, it must be from childhood.
It must be from childhood. And that's the immediate go to for a lot of people. And the message that's coming up from the universe right now is exactly that, is wanting to just emphasize that it isn't. Always from childhood and if we look at the last two volunteer episodes where we worked with Jeanette and even on the last episode where we worked with Mia and Notice with these women they have different things that are going on that are not Specifically related to childhood and not only that I mean when you really think back to different episodes There were a lot of episodes where the situation wasn't that bad Connected to their childhood at all, you know, even if we think about the man who was beating himself up for having Sexual thoughts and wanting to kind of you know, having thoughts about cheating on his wife Even though he was like, you know, I'd never never do it but he was in all of this emotional turmoil about that exact thing and If you recall, that was what was linked to his pain.
So again, it had nothing to do with childhood patterns. And so on today's quick IQ episode, I wanted to bring in that insight just because I can't tell you how often I see people struggling with exactly that. And as far as the to do to really lift some positivity into your life, I'd love to invite you to even just think about.
Maybe five or 10 positive experiences that you did have as a child and Even just invite those awarenesses into your being. And the reason I say that is not only because some people have unfortunately, you know, just had a lot of turmoil looking for patterns in their childhood, but also because a lot of times people are looking for what's wrong.
What was the negative? What was the problem? What was the issue? And they forget to make sure to bring in, you know, What was the positive? What was great? And, I gotta tell you, I have worked with some people who have been through really hard times, and health issues, major health issues, and child abuse, and all kinds of things.
And, When I've asked them this question, to start thinking about some of the great memories that they did have. I mean, I have had grown men who were, you know, the size of football players, in tears, going, oh my god, there was that memory, and there was this memory of this with my dad, or with my mom, or with my Or, you know, some type of, of beautiful memory.
And so, you know, just, I want to invite you to bring that in to think about some wonderful memories from the past. Now, I got to say this quick IQ episode for some people is going to be an epiphany, like they're going to stop nitpicking every little part of their childhood and maybe. be able to look around in a, in a better way around, you know, just again, referring back to our current volunteers and look around at life itself and see what's going on.
So for some people, this is going to get them off the wrong journey. And of course, some patterns are from childhood, uh, but a lot of times what really needs to be resolved is in the now. And I can tell you, you know, even if I look at. the misconceptions that I was looking at during my injury. I mean, if I hadn't been going in that direction, I mean, it probably would have saved about four or five years, you know, of my healing journey where I would have been able to look more accurately and say, okay, this is what's going on.
And, you know, it'd be just because I was listening to other people and other things without looking at, Oh, what did make sense? But when I really started looking at misconceptions and understanding, that's when, you know, when everything needed to make logical sense, that was huge for me because then I could see what did make sense.
So, again, going back to this quick IQ episode, for some people, it's going to be revolutionary. For some people, it will save them years of nitpicking every little thing about themselves. Uh, for others, you know, you may say, okay, well, I'm coming to that conclusion or, you know, it just, you would be surprised at how often I see this.
And so my hope of course, is that it helps people. take years off of the healing journey and helps you to really look at what is real and what is going on. Now, another thing of course is I want to invite you to make sure to look at some things that you would love moving forward, you know, some positive experiences, some loving experiences, what it is that you do want to create an experience, you know, because that is another thing that I'll see is I see people constantly looking at the past, looking at the past, looking at the past.
And all the time I'll say to people, you know, did you spend more energy creating and programming in what you want your future to look like, or more in the past. And all the time people will bashfully say, you know what, well, probably 90 percent of my time or 80 percent of my time looking at the past. And it's like, well, if your thoughts help create your life and you're spending 80 to 90 percent or 100 percent even in some cases of time looking at the past, then in one way or another, you're just going to end up creating more of that.
You ultimately want to start really looking at. Also, what is the future? What are some future experiences that you would like to have? And sometimes I gotta be honest, people are like, well, I don't really know. And so they just kind of leave a blank slate there. And if I were you, I would, you know, write some down, look at some, have fun with it, but really start getting your energy To move and look more at the future.
So that's the other thing that I want people to get. And I know that some people will listen to this and be even more determined to look at the past. And it just, it always happens that way, but others will get it and go, you know what, I can see this makes sense. This makes sense. If my thoughts help create my life, then I better start looking a bit more.
At the future and the things that I do want to experience and feeling more about what I would like it to feel like and of course That's when you're working with your mind because ultimately the other thing you want to do is make sure to be 100 percent present in the moment and That is important to to be aware of you know, living a wonderful, beautiful, full life.
And so that is my suggestions from today's episode is exactly that making sure to bring in, you know, positive from the past, but also positive for the future as well, you know, something loving, something connecting or something in the future that you would love to just. experience and create in your life.
That's just beautiful and, and heart touching or, or fun and exciting or expansive or whatever that is for you. But I would invite you to do something that is of the heart that brings in more love, more thoughts of love, more thoughts of, of joy and connectedness. So that is the message for today's quick IQ episode is exactly that.
And of course, I want to invite you to please do make sure to hit the share button on this episode, you know, share it with somebody you love, somebody you care about, or somebody you don't even know, or even somebody who you know, who's been struggling with healing and, and frustrated and all of that.
Let's spread some positivity, spread some love, spread some joy, and Of course, on the next episode, we are going to be working with Mia again, which is really beautiful by the way. So on the last episode, I mentioned there were some financial issues going on, and that was part of it. And part of it was also being nice to herself.
So she. began to realize, you know, we had talked about on the last episode where she was being really forceful and mean to herself and hard on herself, extremely. And so it was really about setting herself up for success. If you recall that episode, just very powerful, very insightful. And on the next episode, we're going to take it to the next level.
And I look forward to seeing you there. Have an incredible rest of your day.
