Today's question is: Why is “programming” so important for getting results and what does that look like?
In today's episode, Brandy gives a deeper understanding of short-term vs long-term results and the importance of mind programming as well as key insights to creating real, lasting results in your health and life!
In this quick episode, Brandy discusses:
* the importance of “programming” in new neural pathways

Welcome to Heal Yourself, Change Your Life. My name is Brandi Gillmore. And after recovering from my own life-changing injury, it’s become my mission to share with others the same discoveries I made that changed my health and my entire life. Our minds are truly incredible. The placebo is proof of this.
Each week, I will take this simple awareness to a whole new level. I will even coach live callers to free themselves of physical pain using only their mind. And then I’ll provide you with a combination of practical and spiritual insights that you can use to master your mind, your emotions, and your energy to help you heal your health, yourself, and your life.
Let’s begin.
Hello and welcome. It is so wonderful to connect with you. Welcome to this week’s quick IQ episode. On today’s episode, we have a really great question on email regarding the topic of mind programming, and the email reads:
“Hi, my friend Jennifer introduced me to your podcast a few weeks ago, and I can’t tell you how much I love it. I have been binge listening to all of the episodes and feel like my entire worldview has changed. It’s incredible.
I’ve heard of trauma healing with the mind before and meditating and all of that, but I’ve never seen anything like this. It definitely makes me want to understand a lot more about my mind and what it’s capable of. Clearly, there is a lot that we still don’t know.
So I do have a lot of questions, but if I were to pick just one to submit for the questions episode, I would ask about mind programming. Yes, I’ve heard of mind programming before, but what exactly does that look like? You emphasize that changes must be programmed into the mind. Can you elaborate on why programming is so important?
Thank you. Love and light, Holly.”
All right. So that’s our question and that’s what we’re going to be talking about today. And by the way, I have to say, I really love the way that this question is positioned in that it says: what does that look like? So that’s what we’re going to talk about. And of course, the second part of the question says: Why is mind programming so important? So let’s go ahead and start right there first.
The reality is that to get lasting results, the information must be programmed into your mind so it stays — so you’re not changing from one emotional state to another all the time.
Notice that every volunteer I work with, at the end, I’m always telling them: “Make sure to get this in. Reinforce this information over and over and over so it’s programmed in.”
And it’s not just about getting information in. When it comes to healing, it’s really about getting the emotion in also. That part is key.
One way to illustrate this is to think about a wedding song. When someone hears their wedding song, they immediately think back to their wedding — but they also have this powerful emotion of love and connection. That’s because it’s programmed in.
Somebody else could hear a song that reminds them of a funeral… or of hanging out in high school… or of concerts. Notice the combination of the memory and the emotional feeling. That’s what creates programming.
When it comes to healing, you need both: information and emotion.
Think about the alphabet — that’s programmed in. Or times tables growing up: “eight times four equals 32.” That’s memorized, but usually without emotion. Healing requires emotional programming as well.
Even tying your shoes — after a few years, it’s automatic. There are countless things programmed into our minds to make life more efficient.
When it comes to healing and changing your life, what ultimately needs to be programmed is your emotional pattern. That is what creates real results because that’s where your energy is.
What can be tricky is that emotions are not always logical. Sometimes you can think one way but feel something different. Or people feel guilt or sadness without knowing why.
Programming new emotions can feel tricky — but that is ultimately what you’ll want to do: create a new programmed way of feeling that becomes automatic.
And that’s the key for creating radical results in your health and your life.
The only way to get consistent results is to feel in the same empowered way consistently. Part of that is bringing in new emotions, but equally important is ensuring that your mind is not dropping back into the old negative emotional pattern.
If the mind has repeatedly gone into negativity — anger, resentment, hurt, rejection — then those emotions are felt regularly. Your nervous system feels it, your energy reflects it, and it attracts more of that same pattern.
So mind programming is essential for making sure you consistently feel in a new, empowered way — and also for making sure you stay out of those old emotional patterns.
Many people try to just “get rid of the negative programming,” but what they really need first is new positive programming so the mind has somewhere else to go. Otherwise, it will default back to the old path.
To summarize: to make authentic change, programming must be in place so your mind automatically goes to the new emotional state.
So what does mind programming actually look like?
We’ve talked about some examples: tying shoes, knowing the alphabet, emotional associations with songs. These are simple examples.
But emotional patterns in life are more complex because they alter your perspective. They affect what you see, how you interpret things, and how you feel. Patterns feel very real and very stuck.
For example, someone might feel criticized — and it feels real — and they experience it repeatedly because they keep giving emotional energy to that pattern.
Changing that pattern means:
That shift may seem impossible to someone who’s felt a certain way for their entire life, but it’s absolutely possible — and it’s necessary for real healing.
You’ll want to think about rewiring the neural pathways. The new emotional response must become automatic — not an afterthought.
Imagine your mind as a large field of tall grass. When you walk through the grass once or twice, there’s no real path. But if you walk the same path over and over, you create a trail.
Your emotional patterns work the same way.
If you repeatedly think or feel something, it becomes a path. If the emotional intensity is strong — like trauma or a wedding — it’s like driving a tractor through the field: the path forms immediately.
That’s why emotional intensity programs the mind so quickly.
So to reprogram your mind:
1. You create a new emotional path.
2. You stop walking the old emotional path.
3. Over time, the old path disappears.
People often try to “clear the old negative pathway,” but if they are still emotionally walking down it, it never goes away. That’s why I work with volunteers to create new emotional patterns first — and then have them reinforce it repeatedly so the old path fades.
Although I simplify the explanation as much as possible, mind programming does have complexities. Bringing in new emotions is not always easy — but it is absolutely possible.
What matters most is repetition. That’s how you build new neural pathways and create real change.
If we go back to the beginning of the email where she said she’s been binge listening to episodes and her worldview has changed — that is a form of programming. Repetition creates shifts.
And of course, for healing, the programming must be specific, but repetition alone can be powerful.
On that note, please do make a point to share this episode with a friend or loved one to help them expand their worldview of what is possible. The more positivity and empowerment each person has, the better our world becomes.
And on that note, I wish you an incredible rest of your day and I look forward to connecting with you on the next episode. I’ll see you there.
Thank you for listening to Heal Yourself, Change Your Life. All of the time people reach out and say how much these episodes have given them hope, touched their heart, helped them stay positive in hard times, or even woken them up to a completely new level of awareness of how amazing we all really are.
If today’s episode touched your heart or expanded your mind in any way, please do me a favor and be sure to share it with those you care about or those you know who really need it. As more and more people become empowered, it really will change our world for the better.
That is the point and the power of these demonstrations — to create a radical shift in our world consciousness by showing everyone what we are all capable of.
Each volunteer will need to follow through to reinforce their programming to maintain their results. But the point is for you to see that you can create rapid results in your health and your life if you truly understand how to use your mind.
You are incredible.
I do want to be clear though that most people will not get results this fast on their own. I make it look very easy because of the discoveries that I made. You’ll want to remember that there’s so much more going on in our minds at a deeper level than people realize.
If you want to send me any questions or comments, come visit me on my website at brandygillmore.com. And if you’re currently experiencing physical pain and would like to be a volunteer on the show, you can sign up there as well.
Lastly, please remember: if you do have any health issues, you won’t want to avoid your doctors. Instead, you’ll want to continue seeing them and make it your goal to blow their minds with what you’re capable of with your mind.
Thank you.
