Welcome to heal yourself, change your life. My name is Brandi Gillmore. And after recovering from my own life changing injury it’s become my mission to share with others the same discoveries I made that changed my health and my entire life. Our minds are truly incredible. The placebo is proof of this. Each week, I will take this simple awareness to a whole new level.
I will even coach live callers to free themselves of physical pain using only their mind. And then I’ll provide you with a combination of practical and spiritual insights that you can use to master your mind, your emotions, and your energy to help you heal your health, yourself, and your life. Let’s begin.
Hello and welcome. It is so wonderful to connect with you. I just love that you are somebody who is here, who’s continuing to expand your mind and your consciousness and your energy and your healing and love. I just love it. And on that note, let’s go ahead and dive in to this week’s quick IQ episode.
Answering a Powerful Listener Question
Now, on today’s episode I’m going to go ahead and answer a question from a listener, and I think this is a really great question that a lot of people are overlooking.
So we’re going to kind of dive into some of the details of some things that people may be doing with their mind that end up backfiring and making it harder to get results — and sometimes even creating more problems. It’s something you’ll definitely want to avoid, because if you just do it the other way, things go a lot better.
And I’m going to go ahead and break down exactly what that is. So first and foremost, let’s go to the question from the email. She says:
“Hi Brandy, I was just introduced to your podcast and I wanted to tell you that I love the way you work with people’s mind and the results that you get.”
And by the way, she goes on with wonderful compliments — I won’t read them all, but just very, very sweet. And to get to her question, she continues:
“I also have a question for the questions episode. I am wondering if by chance you are bypassing the negative and having people just focus on the positive.”
I have to say, first and foremost: I love this question. This is such a great question, and I want to break this down even more because to some people, it could absolutely look like that. But I want to break it down to give you a better understanding of what I’m doing and why.
Why Positive Programming Must Come First
So first and foremost, yes: it is absolutely important to address the negative and to release the negative from the subconscious mind and energy. It’s extremely important for lasting results.
But if you’re not putting in the positive first — and really programming that in — you can actually cause everything to backfire.
Especially if the problem you’re wanting to get rid of pertains to something like love or safety. Then ultimately what I see happen all the time is people start working with the mind and they end up making things worse instead of better.
When you stop and think about it, when it comes to feelings of love or safety, we need both.
The Nervous System Needs Safety and Love
Simple ways to illustrate this: If you think about somebody being scared to death, you can’t just let go of the feeling of safety and expect the nervous system and energy of the body to be okay. And we also need love.
I know we’ve talked about this before — the importance of love — but we’re going to break this down even more. I see people so often looking at patterns of hurt and wounding, and ultimately they go to their childhood self and try to release it.
Not only does it typically not work, but a lot of times it creates even more problems in someone’s life. The problem increases, gets worse, or shows up in a different way.
Three Common Ways the Brain Responds When Positive Programming Is Missing
When you break it down, the brain will usually do one of three things:
1. It keeps going back to the old pattern because there’s nothing new, and it still needs love.
2. It creates a new negative pattern because it doesn’t know there are positive ways to get love — it has no reference for that.
3. It creates or worsens an illness because the body and energy still need love and safety.
The easiest way to illustrate this is with an infant who doesn’t get enough love or connection — they can actually die, or be stunted in growth and have health challenges. We need love.
If the brain only knows one reference for love — and if love and hurt are linked together — you cannot get rid of the hurt without your brain thinking it’s losing the love too.
That’s why you must make sure you have new positive programming on how to get love, and that it’s linked into your mind with not just thoughts, but the emotion and energy of love.
When you do that, you create new neural pathways. And that is when the change becomes life changing.
Why Many People Accidentally Reinforce Negative Patterns
On these IQ episodes, you’ll always hear me talk about things you want to do — and things you *don’t* want to do with your mind. That’s because I see mistakes all the time that send people in the wrong direction.
For example, in episodes 64–65, you may remember the woman who was nearly blind. Her condition was linked to her spiritual beliefs about relationships, love, and karma. She had been working with the mind for over twenty years.
I see that all the time.
Or take Michelle, the most recent volunteer. She’s been studying the mind as a therapist and coach for sixteen to seventeen years. She accidentally programmed in “flight” from relationships — so she wants connection but also runs from it. That’s a pattern that only appeared in recent years because she tried to get rid of the negative without installing the positive first.
If you just try to get rid of the negative, you can accidentally create new negative patterns instead of the positive ones you really want.
Another major thing to be mindful of is using spiritual language linked to negative patterns. For example, going on a retreat is wonderful — but she linked “retreating” with hurt from negative people, which gave that negative pattern even more energy and reinforced it.
You Must Release the Negative — But Not First
Going back to the listener’s question: Are we bypassing the negative?
No — you absolutely address the negative. You must.
If you don’t, the brain will continue to go back to the hurt. Just like someone quitting smoking and then going back two years later because the emotional pattern wasn’t released.
But to get the change you want, it’s a combination:
1. Bring in the positive first.
2. Then you can release the negative more easily.
3. Then you bring in more positive.
4. Then release more negative.
And it fills you up and feels amazing. Both are important.
And typically that’s part of what I’m doing to get the results you hear in the episodes: I help people bring the new, specific, positive information into the brain, because most people are putting random things into their mind — and not getting them into the subconscious.
How to Start Getting Positive Programming Into the Subconscious Mind
Today I want to give you a tip on how to start bringing more of that positive programming into your subconscious mind. If it’s not in the subconscious, the change won’t hold.
And both steps — positive programming and subconscious integration — are key.
So one thing you can do is give your brain simple references to the new information.
Simple Network Mind Programming
This means connecting the new story or new feeling to multiple reference points so your brain builds more neural pathways to it — it “webs” the information in.
Example: You want a harmonious relationship. You see a loving exchange between others, or you have a sweet moment at the grocery store. You use that as a reference: “Like that.”
That builds the network.
You can relate it to present situations or future visions. You can include a few past references if helpful — but not too many, because otherwise you keep tying your identity to the past, even when you’re trying to let the past go.
Referencing mostly the present and future helps the mind move forward.
You can do this with anything — love, connection, abundance, harmonious relationships — and it becomes truly life changing.
And it feels fabulous because it’s easy, and you want it to be easy.
Final Thoughts and Closing
Speaking of love and connection, I just love that you are here. It has been such a pleasure connecting with you on today’s quick IQ episode.
As always, if you could make sure to share this episode — share it with somebody that you love or somebody you know who needs this. The more positive, healthy, happy, and empowered everyone is, the more incredible this world becomes.
Imagine that with me — everyone stepping into positivity, love, kindness, empowerment, manifesting, healing. The world would be a truly beautiful place.
On that note, I look forward to connecting with you on the next episode, and I wish you a wonderful, fabulous rest of your day.
Thank you for listening to Heal Yourself, Change Your Life.
All of the time people reach out and say how much these episodes have given them hope, touched their heart, helped them stay positive in hard times, or even awakened them to a completely new level of awareness of how amazing we all are.
If today’s episode touched your heart or expanded your mind in any way, please do me a favor and be sure to share it with those you care about, or those you know who really need it. As more people become empowered, it will change our world for the better.
The point of these demonstrations is to create a radical shift in world consciousness by showing everyone what we’re capable of.
Each volunteer will need to follow through to reinforce their programming to maintain their results. But the point is for you to see that you really can create rapid results in your health and your life. If you really understand and use your mind, you’re incredible.
I do want to be clear, though: most people will not get results this fast on their own. I make it look easy because of the discoveries I made. There’s so much more going on in our minds at a deeper level than people realize.
If you want to send me any questions or comments, come visit me on my website at brandygillmore.com. And if you’re currently experiencing physical pain and would like to be a volunteer on the show, you can sign up there as well.
Lastly, please remember: if you do have any health issues, don’t avoid your doctors. Instead, continue seeing them and make it your goal to blow their minds with what you’re capable of with your mind. Thank you.
