Welcome to Heal Yourself. Change Your Life. I’m Brandy Gillmore and what I’m most known for is helping people to create radical transformations and even demonstrating the power of the mind and self-healing under medical equipment so you can see the results and my work has even been published in a medical journal because it’s truly incredible what we are all capable of when we understand our own minds at a deeper level.
So whether you’re new to this work or you’ve been studying the power of the mind for many years, I love that you are here. I love that we’re on this incredible journey together, and I look forward to sharing breakthrough information with you. That said, on this podcast, I’ll share two types of episodes.
First, self-healing episodes, where I share key insights from working with live volunteers. And the second type are where I answer questions from the audience. That said, if you’d like to volunteer or submit a question, come visit me at BrandyGillmore.com. On that note, let’s dive in.
Hello and welcome to this week’s quick IQ episode where we talk about insights and questions. And today I want to share with you a few really powerful insights that really woke me up to work with my mind in a different way to help me to heal myself. In the last episode I mentioned that I had been doing all of the things that I could possibly think of.
I was doing positive thinking and meditation and binaural beats and frequencies, and while all of those things could be great, it wasn’t healing my body. And I was literally trying everything from diet and supplements to medical procedures. I really didn’t care where the answer came from.
All I cared was that I wanted to heal, and so anything and everything, I was willing to try it. Now, I had been following through for years and years and years. Hoping that one day this stuff would just click and it would work, that my body would then heal itself, but it wasn’t happening. And then I had this pivotal moment where a friend of mine that I knew had also been working on trying to heal herself and she had lung cancer. And it came to the point where everybody knew that she wasn’t going to make it. So she was in her final days in hospice. And basically another friend called me up and she asked me if I wanted to go say goodbye and pay my respects to her before she passed.
And of course, I said yes. And so we went and as I saw her laying there in hospice, she had been unconscious for quite a while and even somewhat in and out of consciousness, but it just really stuck in my mind. It was one of those moments that kind of just knocks the wind out of you, it feels like it wants to break your heart.
It just, it was just a heavy feeling. But I left and for the next few days, something just stuck in my mind and it was this. It was that as I saw her laying there, in and out of consciousness… she had been in hospice for quite a while and I realized, that was almost somewhat what I looked like during the day.
Not that I had the same thing as her, but that I was spending a lot of time in deep meditation in theta state and binaural beats and frequencies, just trying to get my nervous system to be relaxed. So hopefully my body would heal, and so I was laying in a deep state of relaxation in and out of theta state or, meditation or all these things for hours upon hours and hours a day.
And I thought to myself, well, if it was just relaxation and deep relaxation, then she would’ve healed herself. Or anybody in a coma or anybody who’s deeply relaxed would heal themselves. And so it really made me start thinking. And around that time, that’s also when I found the research on multiple personality disorder, showing that somebody with multiple personality disorder could have different illnesses in different personalities and that it was consistent. Meaning, personality number one could always have the same illness and personality number two could always have a completely different illness. And personality three could have trauma and no illness. And I thought, wait a second. How is it consistent with the mindset?
And so that just really stuck with me. And also that big breakthrough was just the awareness that relaxation wasn’t necessarily. That was key, because up until that point I thought, if I can just get my vagus nerve to relax and be in theta state, then maybe my body will heal. And I think that was eye-opening because I had been trying for so long to do that very thing.
So then what I started thinking about next, because it was all very complex, there’s the placebo, there’s multiple personality disorder, there’s stress effects the physical body. So I could see that there’s some type of mind body connection, but I couldn’t figure out exactly how it worked. And so I started simplifying everything. Because when I used to work in network operations, that’s exactly what I did. I did troubleshooting all day, and so I would just simplify everything to see if I could start seeing evidence, and try to figure things out. And so that’s exactly what I started doing with the mind, I started simplifying it and saying, okay, where can I see the mind body connection?
And of course emotions. if somebody’s embarrassed, their face turns red, or somebody can feel a lot of emotions and anxiety, panic, and they can have a panic attack, or somebody can have a racing heart and shortness of breath, that affects their breathing and their heart. And I thought, yes, we all know that, but how much can emotions really affect the physical body?
And the answer is to the point of death. Somebody can die of a broken heart when they lose somebody that they love, they can actually die. Or a person can be scared to death where they’re so scared their heart actually stops. Now, I used to think that was just a figure of speech where somebody is quote unquote, scared to death.
But it actually turns out it’s a real thing. So as I was researching, I could see the profound effects of emotions. And of course, if we also look at current day research, a few years ago, the Surgeon General actually released an entire report on loneliness. That loneliness can increase Type two diabetes, stroke, heart disease, heart attack, and of course, heart disease is the leading cause of death. So when we stop and look at it for a moment, emotions can have a very profound effect on the physical body. Now, what was really eye-opening to me was this, because to be honest with you, I had a bit of a hard time taking emotions seriously.
Now, keeping in mind that my injury was back in 2003, so I’ve come a long way since then, and my recovery was 2009, 2010 is when I really was back on my feet. So it’s been a a long time that I’ve been working with the mind. But back at that point, I really had a hard time taking emotions that seriously, especially because nobody else was, and further I had an accident.
So I didn’t think my emotions were an issue because I wasn’t what I would consider an emotional person. And so it didn’t seem to me like I could have any type of health issue related to emotions at all. But what was profound was seeing that the mind can actually influence the energy of the body.
Now, I want to unpack that for a moment because this was the second breakthrough, and a lot of times when people hear the word energy, they just think woo woo. And don’t get me wrong, I like the Woo. I also really like science as well, so I like woo plus science. I like things to make logical sense, and as I researched the energy of the body, what I found was that there was actually a medical scientist back in the 1920s.
His name is Alexander Gurwitsch, and he was nominated for the Nobel Prize 11 times for discovering this energy that emits from the body. Now, when he first discovered it, he called it mitogenetic radiation. Today the common technical name is called biophotons or ultra weak photon emissions. But a simple way to think about it is like little particles of light that are very weak.
To the naked eye and invisible and modern research has even shown that these biophotons exist. And they’re even referenced in places like the Smithsonian database, the, there’s an astrophysics database. And so there’s research, extensive research showing that this energy, a light energy, can emit from the physical body.
And what’s fascinating is that our own minds can influence this light energy. And furthermore, this light energy has been shown to influence cell proliferation, the growth and division of cells. And so I don’t want to get too technical, but a simple way to think about it is like this is, think about a simple way to picture light energy is to think about a text message sent to your body, if you will. Because when you stop and think about emails or text messages, that’s exactly what happens in fiber optics is that fiber optic cables use light to transmit data. And so similarly, our bodies can communicate through these particles of light. And so either way, just fascinating. The more I could see, the mind body connection was all around. And another thing, by the way, that was really mind expanding was this. Was that when it came to the placebo, all of the time people will think it has to do just with belief. If you believe something’s going to work, then it does. However, when I started to really think about it for a moment, it couldn’t just be belief. And this is the reason why… is you can tell that there’s specific information that is being transferred to the body.
Meaning that if somebody takes a fake pill and they believe that it can help their Parkinson’s symptoms, it can. But if they take a placebo and they believe that it could give them a rash or headaches, it can. And so I thought, wait a second here. How is the specific information getting communicated to the body?
Because it’s not just belief that something bad is going to happen or something good, but it’s very specific and so it was profound to be able to see the awareness that our mind and body really are communicating very specific information. And so I could really see how influential the mind body connection could be, and I started taking emotions more seriously.
So that was really pivotal for me since I didn’t really take emotions and a mindset at the level of awareness that it could really affect my body at a deeper level. And so I, when I started re-looking at multiple personality disorder and emotions and mindset and how it could all come together, that led to the third insight, which was this, is that I began to look at everything objectively.
And I said, okay, we know that stress affects the physical body that’s been proven with psychoneuroimmunology. We know that stress can affect the immune system that is well proven, but we also know that there can be people who are extremely stressed and even have PTSD and trauma and yet are not sick.
How does that work? And what I began to figure out was that it was a specific combination of emotions that was key. And a simple way to think about it is like this, is that, imagine if somebody wants to make cake and they only have flour. They can’t make cake, but if they have flour and they mix it with eggs and butter or vegan eggs and butter or whatnot, now they can make cake and if they change the ingredients, they have something else.
And so what I began to figure out was exactly that, was that it takes a specific combination of emotions and mindset is key. Now, in some cases it can be just negative emotions, but also in other cases it can be things like the self-image. For example, a person may have been ill for a very long time and they begin to identify as being somebody who is sick or has an injury, and so the more it becomes part of their identity and who they are.
The more it keeps them in a state of illness. And so that’s what I began to figure out is that the specific combination was key, and that is what has led to my breakthrough. And so ultimately what I’ve been able to do to help people get real results and to help myself also get results, is to identify the very specific combination of emotions and then change them and really bring in the positive. Now, so often when people hear that they need to really change their emotions, the first thing that people will think of is they’ll think of positive thinking or they’ll think of meditation. But we have to go even deeper than that. And if I give you an example, if we think about Steve Jobs for a moment, I have so much respect, there were a lot of great things and, he was wonderful in a lot of ways. And also, like most human beings, all human beings, he wasn’t perfect and he had his flaws or stressors or whatever you want to call it. He had his own things, if you will. Now, the reason that I point him out is because it is well known and publicly known that he meditated throughout his life, even starting and getting involved in meditation even in his late teens.
And so that is well documented. And it’s also well documented that there were still a lot of emotional or stressors, emotional type of issues or whatnot that he may have had in his personality that were still very present. And so the reason I’m bringing that up is because so often people immediately think, if you meditate, it’s going to really resolve the deeper emotional patterns.
And while meditation can be nice and lovely, it doesn’t typically resolve at the level that is needed to really create healing at a deeper level. And if we think about, again, Steve Jobs for a moment. He didn’t heal with meditation or positive thinking or eating healthy or, but he also did so many other things as well. It’s written in his bio and information that he even did things like a transplant and radioactive isotopes and a variety of different conventional methods as well as alternative methods. But when we stop and take a look back, with so much respect, but if we look, he was known to have a lot of deeper stressors, if you will, going on at a deeper level.
And again, I say this with so much respect. I think that he was brilliant in so many ways. And also there are things that we can learn from him. And so my point being is just that when people think about changing their mindset, so often they think about meditation or just positive thinking. And in my experience, to get real, real, real results, we must go at a deeper level and we must really be specific with the mind to get the results that we want.
That’s the key that I’ve found to getting real results. And so that’s what I’ll be sharing with you on upcoming episodes. I’ll be working with live volunteers and showing people how to release pain or heal themselves from all kinds of chronic health conditions that they have been told were not curable. I’ll see people heal themselves from all kinds of things all of the time, and so that’s where we’re going on the upcoming episodes. I look forward to seeing you there, and in the meantime, by the way, if you are somebody who really likes to understand information at a deeper level on how it works. Deep dive training that will help walk you through this information so you can see examples and you can see them under medical equipment and you can see information with slides, or there’s another one with an interview style that also shares with you key insights as I’m working with people so you can really see their faces. You can see what happens as I’m working with people to release their own pain or create changes in their lives. And so there is that deep dive training and also an advance training available in the show notes if you’d like. That’s available to you. And of course on the upcoming episodes, I’ll be working with live volunteers showing them how to use mind body healing in their own life to begin getting radical results. And so that’s where we’re going. And it has been such a pleasure connecting with you. I look forward to connecting with you on the training or on the upcoming episodes. We’ll see you there.
