Welcome to Heal Yourself. Change Your Life. I’m Brandy Gillmore and what I’m most known for is helping people to create radical transformations and even demonstrating the power of the mind and self-healing under medical equipment so you can see the results and my work has even been published in a medical journal because it’s truly incredible what we are all capable of when we understand our own minds at a deeper level.
So whether you’re new to this work or you’ve been studying the power of the mind for many years. I love that you are here. I love that we’re on this incredible journey together, and I look forward to sharing breakthrough information with you. That said, on this podcast, I’ll share two types of episodes.
First, self-healing episodes, where I share key insights from working with live volunteers. And the second type are where I answer questions from the audience. That said, if you’d like to volunteer or submit a question, come visit me at BrandyGillmore.com. On that note, let’s dive in.
Hello and happy, beautiful day to you. I want to add in a quick but important note to make this podcast very easy to navigate because today’s episode has a special format. Today I worked with a live volunteer. As you probably know, there are a lot of people who are now using AI to modify information online.
For that reason, we have taken an extra step to help protect our beautiful volunteer and the integrity of this work to help keep the information from being modified. And we actually love how this turned out because it provides you with even more information. This is how it works. On today’s episode, you’ll hear an overview of the person that I worked with, and I will provide you with simple but powerful breakthrough insights that helped our volunteer begin making a radical shift.
Then at the end of this short breakthrough episode, if you are ready for a deep dive, you can click in the show notes to gain access to the actual self-healing session where I worked directly with the live volunteer. This enables us to help protect the information online from being modified. While still continuing to provide you with powerful information to help bridge the gap between science and spirituality and personal empowerment, because it’s truly incredible what you are capable of when you learn to understand your mind at a deeper level.
That said, let’s dive into the simple but powerful insights that came from working with today’s volunteer. Here we go.
All right, so diving into today’s episode, I love the insights from today’s episode. They’re really profound, especially when it comes to the topic of the racing mind and slowing your mind down. That is something that I really want to focus on today. Now. The volunteer that I worked with, her name is Jean, and she’s just a beautiful being, very driven and motivated in life and her career and just in personal development. So she’s been studying and working on personal development for decades. But she said, with everything that she’s been doing in life and all the work that she’s done on herself, she just still feels off often in relationships, off in just in life, feeling overwhelmed and just like things aren’t quite on the way that she would want them to be. Now, as far as health issues, she has had ongoing issues with her teeth where it feels like she’s experiencing, one thing after another. She’s also had intermittent back issues. Now as I begin working with her, there were several really profound breakthroughs regarding setting boundaries with people, et cetera.
So there were a lot of really key pieces. But the one that I really feel like I want to focus on the most has to do with the racing mind. So often in our culture people say that, their mind is racing and they just want to slow down. And you’ve probably heard people say that before you maybe have even said that yourself.
Now, whenever I hear people saying things like that. Of course it’s, concerning because I really think that we need to be careful because the body can hear what we’re saying and what we’re feeling more than most people realize. Now, let me give you an example. There was a guy that I met who had lost his wife, his wife passed away, and he just kept saying and feeling and saying, and feeling that it just unfortunately left him. With the biggest hole in his heart. And a few years later he was diagnosed with having a hole in his heart. But that was something that he said and felt very deeply. And of course I just had so much compassion for his situation and he needed to start changing it. And the beautiful thing is though, is that as he did start changing it, he was able to start healing these holes in his heart. So it was beautiful and pivotal for him. And of course, you hear me say all of the time that our bodies are giving us a message ultimately to change.
So of course, as he begins healing his heart and healing the hole in his heart, it enables him to then. Find more love and connection moving forward, which is ultimately what he needed to do in his own life. And going back to our topic of the racing mind and slowing your mind down, that’s what you want to think about, is really thinking about this mind body connection and when you stop and think about this for a moment, would you really want your mind to just slow down? For me personally. No, what I would want and what I think everybody should have is mental efficiency and also being able to be flexible and let your mind operate different at different times. And the way to think about it is like this, is that if you go to drive a car and you’re in a school zone, you definitely want to, of course, slow down, or if you’re going around a really sharp curve on like a cliff, you want to be able to slow your car down. But if you are getting on the freeway or highway or autobahn, you definitely want to be able to speed up. And so with our minds, what do we really want? We want our minds to be able to think fast, to come up with answers in a fast way, but not out of control. So it’s just racing and racing and racing all of the time. We don’t want that either. I mean, you wouldn’t want your car to be racing and racing and racing all the time, or a computer to be racing and racing all the time. We want that ability to have it be fast and efficient when you want to be, and also at rest when you want to be that as well. So building on that same analogy, if you think about it, if you drive your car on the freeway or autobahn or highway or wherever and you’re driving fast, you wouldn’t want to then of course go home and your car still wants to drive fast everywhere. So that wouldn’t be optimal either but you also wouldn’t want to try to drive somewhere and get on the freeway or highway or whatnot, and your car is just programmed to go slow. You wouldn’t want that. And that’s my point is that so often people are saying that very thing that they just want to check out, that they just want their mind to slow down but what we want to remember is we are at a point in time where there’s an increase. Of cognitive impairment and neurocognitive disorders. And so I would strongly discourage anybody from ever wanting to slow their mind down or to make a habit of just checking out and disconnecting. And so when I’ve worked with people who have had neurocognitive disorders, a lot of times there’s been some type of link with the racing mind or mentally checking out, et cetera, et cetera. And so that’s the point that I want to really emphasize is instead of asking your mind to slow down, that you really start looking at it in a different way. And work with it in a more specific way. And a way to think about it is like this is that, imagine with your computer, you wouldn’t ask your computer to slow down and if it’s still running and your computer’s running and it keeps running, you wouldn’t say, hey, computer, slow down. What would you do? You would figure out what apps are still running and you would shut those specific apps down that are causing the problem. Right, and so that’s the same thing that you would want to do with your mind.
Instead of asking your entire mind to slow down, you’d want to figure what apps or what programming in your mind is running and shut that down. Now, the analogy that you hear me use all of the time is this, is that imagine if somebody walks into their house. And there’s a whole bunch of radio stations or television stations playing, some of them they like and some of them they don’t like. And so what a person does is just tries to quiet their mind and calm themselves so they’re not affected. By all of these radio stations or stations playing, right? And so that’s a lot of times what people are trying to do. They’re trying to just disconnect from it or, not hear it, or not let it affect them or ignore it but instead, what you’ll ultimately want to do is get really good at your mind. I mean, let’s be honest, our minds heal. Our bodies change our lives. So getting good. your mind has a lot of perks to it. The more that every single person knows how to use their mind, the easier it is to be happy, healthy, and have an incredible life and so there are a lot of benefits, and by the way, on that note, so often people come into this world and they get good at computers or fashion or driving or multiple languages or things like that, and all of that can be great. But they overlook getting really good with their own mind and again, just if everybody was good with their mind, it would just be incredible. And so when I say dialing in the specifics here. That’s ultimately what we’d want to do is get really good at identifying what the specifics are. So then, going back to that analogy, if you walk into your house and there’s a bunch of different stations playing, that’s what you’d want to do is identify what stations are playing or keep running and identify them and shut them down. Or going back to the computer analogy, that’s what you’d want to do. What app is running on your computer that’s making it continue to run and shut it down, or reprogram it or fix the errored programming in it? That’s exactly it, and that’s what I did with my own mind to be able to get this ability and this level of clarity and, to heal myself was I started working with the mind in a different way and really identifying the specifics and changing that, and that’s the key you’ll hear me say over and over and over. We really need to get specific with the mind, and so when people say, okay, well I’m just going to think positively, or I just want to slow my mind down, or I just want to, calm my mind or whatnot, ultimately, yes, but we want to do so in a very specific way. And so that’s the key insight that I really want to emphasize is to get good at your mind and get good at identifying the specifics and really transforming those because that is the key. So if somebody asked me. Personally, if I would want to slow my mind down, the answer would be no way.
No way. I love being able to think fast. I love having a, clear mindset. I love being able to come up with solutions and ideas and grow and expand and all of those things, and I would never want my mind to slow down. But at the same time, if I am ready to go to bed or if I’m just wanting to be present with somebody, it’s easy because my mind is programmed to do so. And so that’s ultimately the thing that I want to emphasize is before you ask your mind ever to slow down, ask yourself, is that what you really want? And by the way, if you’re also somebody who has a habit of wanting to check out, so let’s say you feel like your mind is really busy, and so you’re kind of escaping your mind.
I would also really invite you to look at that as well. If you think about neurocognitive issues such as Alzheimer’s or you think about dementia or whatnot, when you start to think about what happens in these cases is somebody is in some ways, mentally checking out, putting their minds in a different place and so what we really want to think about is anything that you do with your mind repeatedly. It can start to do that automatically for you. That’s how our minds work. And so a simple way to think about it is like, this is, if you think about tying your shoes, you know when you learn to tie your shoes as a child, you really have to think about it, how to do it and then after a while you had been doing it so long, you just automatically do it. It just happens automatically. In fact. If you’ve ever had this situation before, sometimes there will be people who are of course, teaching their children how to tie their shoes, and they have to stop and think about, how do I tie my shoes?
Why? Because they’re so used to doing it on autopilot. They have to stop and go, wait a second. How do I do it again? Because. They just do it automatically. And that’s my point is that if we’re asking the mind to just slow down, you want to think about that. Or if you have a tendency to feel like your mind is racing, you’re just trying to mentally check out, I would invite you to think about that for a moment and instead of wanting to just check out, instead notice if you’re wanting to escape your own mind. And if so. I’d invite you to look at this in a different way and work with your mind in a way that starts really shutting down the patterns or the worry or the fear, or this whatever subconscious thing might be going on in your mind, but start training it to work for you in an efficient way.
So that’s the biggest thing that I really want to emphasize, just because I see it so often and with the rapid increase in neurocognitive disorders, it’s something that I just, I feel very passionate about. Everybody getting really good with their mind and mindset. And going back to our session with our beautiful volunteer, there were several other breakthrough insights as well and so if you’d like to listen to the actual session itself, you can do so by clicking in the show notes and of course. If you’d like a deeper level of training, of understanding mind, body connection, and how self-healing works, there’s also a free training in the show notes as well.
