If you're working on healing but not seeing the results you want, you might be caught in one of two common traps: either focusing too much on past trauma OR trying to “heal” without creating a real emotional shift. But true healing requires something much more precise.
In this eye-opening episode, Brandy reveals a powerful distinction that has helped people break through chronic pain and illness—without getting stuck in the past or lost in surface-level positivity.

If you have found yourself asking any of these questions such as:
My name is Brandi Gilmore, and after recovering from my own life-changing injury, it's become my mission to share with others the same discoveries I made that changed my health and my entire life. Our minds are truly incredible. The placebo is proof of this.
Each week, I will take this simple awareness to a whole new level. I will even coach live callers to free themselves of physical pain using only their mind. And then I'll provide you with a combination of practical and spiritual insights that you can use to master your mind and your energy to help you heal your health, yourself, and your life.
Let's begin.
Hello and welcome back! On today's video, we are going to be diving deeper into the specifics on how to really master your mind and energy to heal your body and to change your life. When we dive into the awareness of healing and the power of the mind and energy, you know, it's truly incredible. And yet, we really need to focus on specifics.
The distinction that I want to share with you today is this: all of the time, I’ll see people who are working on healing themselves, and they’re stuck in two specific places.
Either one, they’re really just focused on trauma and they’re bringing up all of the trauma, the problems, and they’re really bringing that up, and it can make it feel like there’s trauma all around them. You know, if you think about the last podcast episode that I did with our beautiful volunteer, John, if you listened to that episode, in short, basically he had been most of his life, his entire life up until his sixties, healthy. He had mentioned he’d never seen a doctor's office, but he just, he had been healthy.
He hadn’t had any problems, and he had a lot of trauma throughout those years. His father had unfortunately killed himself. His son was on drugs. There were all of these different things, divorce. He had experienced a lot of things, but he'd never had any health issues. And then he got married or he had a new partner and also had a baby, and all of these health issues came in.
Now, if you listened to that episode, you’ll recall part of the trigger for him was that he felt guilty towards his son. So, he had a son in his forties, so he felt all of this guilt and he felt like he didn’t do good enough with his first son. So here he was in this life where he’s got these wonderful experiences—having a child, having a new partner—and he even said, “I just, I hope this will last. Is it always going to be so good?”
So he felt like all of these wonderful things were happening in his life, and he didn’t deserve it. And in his case, he had been going through all the trauma in his head, trying to figure out what is the trauma, what is the trauma. When in his case, what happened was something beautiful, but he felt guilty about his other son, and so now he’s not allowing himself to have it. The beautiful experience that he’s manifesting—like the beautiful partner and all this. So there was guilt, and there was guilt in multiple areas.
But my point is, is that he had this situation and then started going into all of the trauma. And even when I was working with him, you know, I said something like, you know, beating yourself up for mistakes, you have to let those mistakes go. And he even said, but they were big mistakes, or something to that effect. You know, he made them bigger. Eek!
And that's part of the problem: all the time, I’ll see people who are on this journey, looking for trauma, trauma, trauma, trauma, and what it is. And even if you think about his situation, it was something beautiful that happened.
I’ve seen that in other situations as well. Our beautiful volunteer Kelly from about two months ago—by the way, she found this beautiful, amazing relationship, but she felt guilty for it. And she felt like she was not, you know, following her religion to be in this relationship.
And by the way, after I worked with her, she messaged in. She said, “I’m off of my medication. I have no pain”. She just recently sent me a message on that. And so her pain is gone, and her doctor took her off the medication.
And so the point being is that the most incredible things can happen and change, but it’s not all about going into trauma, trauma, trauma, trauma. And yet, we definitely need to resolve specific emotions or patterns. That is key. And that's my point there.
So all the time, I’ll see people who, you know, if they have an illness, or they’re working with their mind, even if they’re working on their mind to manifest a better life, they dive into all of the trauma, and they end up feeling like there’s trauma all around them. When in fact, the mind is specific. And that’s what we need to know: the mind is very specific.
Just like a simple example you hear me use all the time: if somebody’s embarrassed, their face can turn red. Or even a panic attack—racing heart, shortness of breath. So we can see that specific emotions affect the body differently.
Sexual thought creates a sexual physical response. Right? And different from men or women, but notice different emotions affect the body differently, or somebody can be scared to death, or they’re so scared, their heart stops. And so you can see different emotions affect the body differently.
Another thing we see when we’re talking about specifics: even if we think about a placebo for a moment. A placebo, a fake treatment, if somebody takes a placebo and they’re told that it can help their IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), it can. Now, it doesn’t typically create healing, but it can help with the symptoms. Or a person might take the same placebo, and they’re told it’s going to help with Parkinson's, and it can.
And again, it doesn’t typically result in healing, but it can help with symptoms. And so my point is, is that it’s very specific. There’s specific ways that the mind affects the physical body. So the same pill. So there’s a communication between our minds and our physical body. And it is very specific.
If somebody’s told that the placebo is going to have negative side effects, it can. Because there’s a specific communication between the mind and the body. So it’s not just about identifying any trauma because all the time people will have, unfortunately, traumas, but it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re going to have illness.
You know, the example you hear me use all the time is that even a police officer or somebody in the military can have extreme trauma, and it doesn’t mean that they’re going to be sick. And so we really have to be specific when working with the mind that there are keys. There are key factors. And so just being very, very specific is key.
Now, I mentioned there were two places that people typically get stuck, and one is that they do exactly that: they go into all of the trauma without being specific, and they can make it worse because now it feels like trauma is everywhere, and they feel worse instead of better. And so that’s where they even start to identify as trauma, or they feel stuck in the muck, if you will.
Like, “I gotta clean 50,000 things to be able to heal,” and that’s not the case. Thank God! So, so there’s that. So you want to be careful not to get stuck in all of it, but to be specific. Now the other thing that happens is, this is the other place I’ll see people get stuck.
The second one is this: people will get into a place where they’re only focused on health with their mind. They’re only focused on, “Okay, well, let me picture myself healthy. Let me just meditate. Let me picture myself healthy, healthy, healthy and happy, healthy and happy.” And while healthy and happy is great, typically there’s also patterns to release.
And typically, there’s specific emotions like, you know, feeling guilt or feeling bad. There’s emotions in life as well. So it does take a real change, but sometimes people will just go, “Okay, well, let me just meditate. Let me just see myself. Let me just picture myself healed.”
My point is we do need to make an emotional change, but not inundate ourselves with it. So, so it’s like a lot of people are on one side of the spectrum or the other, where they’ll inundate themselves with all of these traumas when it doesn’t necessarily have to be a trauma or on the other case, they won’t focus on really cleaning up emotions.
Instead, they’re just working on seeing themselves healthy. And they’re overlooking emotions, but we need both. We need to be really specific with what it is and make sure not to be frustrated in it, but just to be willing to change.
The insight that I want to invite you to look at in your life is this: I want to invite you to notice what you are really feeling emotionally and change that. It doesn’t have to be some major trauma. You know, as we talked about with the last episode with John, it was the fact that he had a baby and a partner, but then he felt all this guilt towards it. So it wasn’t the trauma. The trauma, in fact, didn’t result in illness.
And so, I know this is a mind-bending distinction, and that’s the thing: the reason that I was able to heal myself and also have been able to show people how to get results back-to-back is because of being specific with the mind. And that’s the biggest thing that I want to emphasize. All too often, people don’t get that specific with the mind, but the more that you get specific, the easier it is.
It’s just like using a computer: if you type in all the wrong keys, it’s not going to work, but if you type in all the right keys, it works like a charm. So ultimately, that’s the way you want to think about it: Really dialing in the specifics—how are you really feeling, which specific emotions are impacting you, and getting clear on that and then transforming those without needing to go into every single trauma.
So that’s the key, and that’s the key insight. So I want to invite you to think about that, but making sure, because as soon as I say, “You know, how are you really feeling?” Sometimes what will happen is people will want to dive into all the negative. But remember, you’ve got to simultaneously stay in the positive and really amplify that.
So it is about making sure to bring in more and more and more positive emotions while also being willing to look at the negative emotions and genuinely change them. So, key distinction may be subtle, but crucial.
And so, that’s today’s insight: is to just check in and really look at that. And by the way, I know for some people this is going to sound impossible. And I get it. And if you need help, I do have a video course that walks you through exactly that. It helps you identify the specific emotions, it helps you understand what’s going on in your subconscious mind, helps you bring in the positive, and it helps you really create that change and new positive emotional patterns and new neural pathways and all of that.
So, there is that support there, of course.
And that’s today’s insight though: exactly that. To get real results, you really, really want to dial in the specifics. It’s pivotal. Alright, so that said, it has been such a pleasure connecting with you. And if you are somebody who has been stuck in that place where you’re diving into all of the trauma and it feels like it’s everywhere now, or if you’ve only been focused on, you know, just seeing yourself healed and meditating and all of that, make sure to branch out, change what’s in your subconscious mind genuinely.
And it’s pivotal. So, getting unstuck, getting real results, and you hear me say all the time, you know, the more that every single person gets real, real, real results, the more that we create this change in the world. Because research shows that it takes about 25-20%, somewhere in there, to create a tipping point.
Meaning that the more people who get results, the more people who understand how this works, the more and more people get results, more and more people understand how it works, creates a tipping point where it starts to become a new norm. And that would be incredible. And so, that’s my hope, of course, in doing what I do and sharing this information.
And so my ask is, please do hit the share button on this episode. Share it with somebody you love, somebody you care about, or somebody you don’t even know. Because the more that every single person creates a happier, healthier, wonderful world where they’re healed and empowered, the better this world is for all of us.
Please do hit the share button, and please do make a point to have the most wonderful, incredible rest of your day. I look forward to connecting with you on the next episode. We’ll see you there.
Thank you for listening to Heal Yourself, Change Your Life.
Closing Reflection
All the time, people reach out and say how much these episodes have given them hope or touched their heart, or helped them stay positive in hard times, or even woken them up to a completely new level of awareness of how amazing we all really are.
If today’s episode touched your heart or expanded your mind in any way, please do me a favor and be sure to share it with those you care about, or those, you know, who really need it, as more and more people become empowered. It really will change our world for the better.
That is the point. And the power of these demonstrations is to create a radical shift in our world consciousness by showing everyone what we are all capable of. And of course, each volunteer will really need to follow through to reinforce their programming to maintain their results. But the point is, for you to see that you really can create rapid results in your health and your life if you really understand how to use your mind.
You're incredible. And I do want to be clear, though, that most people will not get results this fast on their own. I make it look very easy because of the discoveries that I made. You’ll want to remember that there’s so much more going on in our minds at a deeper level than people realize.
That said, if you want to send me any questions or comments, come visit me on my website at brandygilmore.com/podcast.

Lastly, please remember if you do have any health issues, you won’t want to avoid your doctors. Instead, you’ll want to continue seeing them and make it your goal to blow their minds with what you're capable of with your mind.
Thank you.
