So whether you’re new to this work or you’ve been studying the power of the mind for many years. I love that you are here. I love that we’re on this incredible journey together, and I look forward to sharing breakthrough information with you. That said, on this podcast, I’ll share two types of episodes.
First, self-healing episodes, where I share key insights from working with live volunteers. And the second type are where I answer questions from the audience. That said, if you’d like to volunteer or submit a question, come visit me at BrandyGillmore.com. On that note, let’s dive in.
Hello and happy, beautiful day to you. I want to add in a quick but important note to make this podcast very easy to navigate because today’s episode has a special format. Today I worked with a live volunteer. As you probably know, there are a lot of people who are now using AI to modify information online.
For that reason, we have taken an extra step to help protect our beautiful volunteer and the integrity of this work to help keep the information from being modified. And we actually love how this turned out because it provides you with even more information. This is how it works. On today’s episode, you’ll hear an overview of the person that I worked with, and I will provide you with simple but powerful breakthrough insights that helped our volunteer begin making a radical shift.
Then at the end of this short breakthrough episode, if you are ready for a deep dive, you can click in the show notes to gain access to the actual self-healing session where I worked directly with the live volunteer. This enables us to help protect the information online from being modified. While still continuing to provide you with powerful information to help bridge the gap between science and spirituality and personal empowerment, because it’s truly incredible what you are capable of when you learn to understand your mind at a deeper level.
That said, let’s dive into the simple but powerful insights that came from working with today’s volunteer. Here we go.
Today I worked with a beautiful volunteer. Her name is Jelena, and she is just precious. She just has this sweet, caring type of vibe to her and just an absolute sweetheart. And unfortunately, she has been struggling for a long period of time, over 20 years with ulcerative colitis, and she has literally tried everything that she possibly can find and nothing is working and she’s never been able to reach any type of stable remission. She reached out because she wanted to gain some insight as to what was going on with the mind body connection and anything that she could do to start creating some changes. And so I love that. Also, her perseverance, her self-awareness, looking outside of the box, just brilliant and as I started to dive in with her, there was really a lot of different emotions that came up. Some were even, didn’t even make logical sense, but they were still there and impacting her. Now, some of the emotions had to do with feeling hypervigilant and self-critical, and fear of making a mistake and a perfectionist, and also feeling afraid of being yelled at.
Now, part of it was even from growing up from her father, she was. Afraid to be yelled at. And then also another part had to do with her husband, which didn’t even make logical sense because. He’s a sweetheart. He doesn’t, he’s not yelling at her, but she had these fears and this emotion, and part of it was because she was also very critical of self as well.
So she just had a lot of different emotions going on. Now, of course, fear can show up in the body. In different ways, depending upon what different links and connections there are in the mind. But these were some of the patterns that showed up. Now, as I was looking at which specific emotions or breakthroughs, I wanted to really highlight from today’s episode that impact the highest number of people.
I would say one of those has to do with the feeling of being a perfectionist, and I can see it. Affect people in their relationships, in their love, their self-confidence, their connection, their feeling of achieving in life, or feeling really hypercritical or hypervigilant in life. And so I want to just unpack this for a moment because so often I see people struggle with this very thing.
Now if we take a moment to really look at this. If we’re honest, what can happen is this is if you tell the average perfectionist, if you say, well, why don’t you let go of perfectionism, how does that feel? Well, typically not safe. It could feel reckless. It could feel sloppy, messy, like everything’s going to fall apart or everybody’s going to be mad at them, or, all of these different emotions can come up.
And the truth of it is, is there are some things that really do require a level of. Precision. And so, so often I’ve seen people kind of play tug of war with the perfectionist feeling like they can’t let it go, and then feeling the stuckness. And so that’s the thing that I wanted to do is just bring in some practical insights to help you address this perfectionist feeling if this is something that is occurring in your life.
And so. If you are somebody who has had that pattern of feeling like you need to be a perfectionist, what I would start doing is I would really just take inventory and notice where it’s showing up in your life, and also notice how it’s impacting your life, and notice if you do really need it, because in some cases there is precision needed, but it needs to be done in a healthy way. And so if you are feeling stuck with that feeling of perfectionist, what you could do is write down those specific areas and then identify if you need the feeling of perfectionist or precision or not. If you’re an accountant, there needs to be precision, and if you’re not precise with numbers, that could create some real problems, however.
In other areas such as, maybe there’s a recipe that you’ve thrown together that doesn’t require a level of precision, or maybe in your own personality and connecting with others. You feel this perfectionist feeling that’s creating an insecurity, and maybe that’s it. So what can happen is somebody can tell themselves, oh, just let go of being a perfectionist, but it doesn’t feel safe.
So they’re back and forth and back and forth between the pendulum of letting it go. Keep it, let it go, keep it, because there are some areas that it might need to show up, but. In a healthy way, because if somebody who’s perfectionist in some areas says, okay, well let me just let it go completely. That can feel sloppy and not safe.
And not safe with work or life. And so it creates this stuckness and this back and forth and tug of war with self. So just looking at it in a practical way and saying, okay, what do I really need to change? And looking at that. And also, if you do need to keep the perfectionist feeling in certain areas, how can you create that in a healthy way?
And meaning that how can an accountant not stress about perfection but yes, achieve precision and maybe it’s just making a point to double check everything as you go, or whatever it is. So it’s a part of a structure, not a stress. And that’s what I want to share with you is exactly that. Setting up precision where it’s a structure, not a stress.
And when we do that and we set up structure. That can help us succeed. Now, by the way, I’ve literally seen people and worked with people before who were so stressed about doing everything perfect. It was hugely affecting them. But instead, when they didn’t just use this technique to where they change, to where they just do things and they get them done and then they double check them and they have a habit and a structure of just double checking. They don’t have to stress and strain the entire time for perfectionism because they have a structures to support everything being correct in what they’re doing. So that’s one area. Now, of course, if there’s a perfectionist in self.
And feeling hypervigilant and, oh, I have to be perfect as a human being, and it’s an emotional pattern about self. Then I would invite you to also look at. Those beliefs and where that came from, and those feelings at a deeper level for our volunteer, those feelings had to do with a feeling that she would get yelled at.
Now, some people will have a feeling of like, it’s not cool or they won’t be liked. Or for other people I’ve worked with, they had this feeling of being a perfectionist because they felt a feeling of superiority. Around others. And so they had to maintain this feeling of superiority and it required a lot of feelings of perfectionist or in other cases, I’ve seen people who had a huge tendency to fault find in others, like they were always fault finding, which meant that then it created an insecurity, which made them feel like they had to be perfect at every single moment or else that somebody was going to find fault in them. And so it perpetuated the problem.
And so from this, you can see there are a variety of different reasons around that and to really genuinely reprogram the mind, especially something like perfectionist who would want to look at this in both a practical way because there are areas of precisions that is needed. And then also look at it in an emotional way and see if there are other things going on there as well.
And then really look at addressing those and changing those and rewiring them. In the subconscious mind to create that real change. And so that’s the insight that I want to share on today’s episode is exactly that, just because, again, as you probably know. Perfectionist can be a very common pattern that can keep people stuck in a variety of different areas, from relationships to healing, to self-confidence, to love and connection, and just all of the things.
And so that’s the area that I really wanted to highlight. If you’d like to listen to the full session with our beautiful volunteer, Jelena, you can do so by clicking in the members area in the show notes and.
