What happens when overwhelm and frustration quietly begin to weigh on both life and health?
In this powerful episode of Heal Yourself, Change Your Life®, Brandy Gillmore reflects on key insights from working with a live volunteer, Carla, a strong and determined woman, who had been experiencing significant pain in her hands, knees, and body, alongside a deep sense of overwhelm and frustration in her life. The pain had reached a point where it was interfering with her ability to work, create, and do the things she loved.
In this episode, Brandy shares how carrying too much for too long—especially while feeling pressured to keep going—can place strain on both the mind and body. She highlights how internal patterns of anger, pressure, and feeling overwhelmed can quietly influence the body’s ability to respond and heal.
As these patterns were brought into awareness and compassionately shifted during the session, Carla experienced a meaningful change in her pain. What began at about a level 7 in her hands released to the point of being essentially gone by the end of the session, with additional relief beginning in her knees as well.
This episode offers meaningful insight into how releasing overwhelm and stepping into a new chapter—one grounded in strength rather than pressure—can open the door to healing, clarity, and renewed possibility.

Hello and happy, beautiful day to you. I want to add in a quick but important note to make this podcast very easy to navigate because today’s episode has a special format. Today I worked with a live volunteer. As you probably know, there are a lot of people who are now using AI to modify information online.
For that reason, we have taken an extra step to help protect our beautiful volunteer and the integrity of this work to help keep the information from being modified. On today’s episode, you’ll hear an overview of the person that I worked with, and I will provide you with simple but powerful breakthrough insights that helped our volunteer begin making a radical shift.

That said, let’s dive into the simple but powerful insights that came from working with today’s volunteer. Here we go.
In today’s episode, we are going to go into the counterintuitive mind programming. And by the way, as you listen to so many of these episodes, you hear me talk about. What is counterintuitive, and part of the reason that I focus so much on that is because I know what it felt like during my own injury to try every, every, every, everything that I could possibly think of, and it wasn’t working.
One of the keys, one of the many keys for really creating that breakthrough was to really understand the mind in a different way and to really start addressing the counterintuitive links and just understanding and gaining a deeper, deeper level of clarity on how the mind works. I mentioned that because on today’s episode, we’re going to look at some things that might be a bit counterintuitive not in extremely counterintuitive, but definitely. Different than a person might think. And so that’s where we’re going.
Now in today’s session. I worked with a beautiful volunteer, Carla. Now I absolutely just love Carla. She’s fun, she’s funny, she’s got this sense of determination and she’s just, she’s strong, she’s a powerhouse and just an amazing being. In fact. As we start working, it turns into Carla 2.0 and then Carla 5.0 it, it’s beautiful because she’s talking about, stepping into the next, next, next level of self. And so I love that for her. Now, the reason that she reached out is because she’s been struggling with a lot of pain and a variety of different health issues.
She has carpal tunnel in both hands. She actually has surgery scheduled that’s coming up, but she’s trying to of course understand the mind body connection and what is going on and what that deeper link is. So that’s really powerful. Also because she’s been experiencing extreme pain where she says some days are like a level 15 out of 10.
It’s just so high. And what’s beautiful. Is that when I began working with her, her pain in her hands was about a level seven, and then. By the end of the session, she was able to get it basically gone. And so she did that and which was really incredible and I’ll share with you some key insights. So that does happen during this session and another thing that she was able to do during the session is that she was also able to start releasing her knee pain as well. So she’s had pain in both knees and just a variety of different things that have been really, challenging her because in her life. She’s a teacher and an artist, and she paints, and the pain got so bad that she hasn’t even been able to paint, she can actually barely hold a paintbrush. And so she’s at this place of frustration. And by the way, in her personality I mentioned, she’s just very determined and strong. She’s somebody who really pushes through anything and everything. So now that she’s in this place where she can barely even hold a paintbrush.
It’s just affecting literally every area of her life. And so as we began working, I began helping her to understand and identify which specific emotions were affecting her physical body and what was impacting her and what was linked to the issue. Now, the counterintuitive part is this, is that she just had this feeling of feeling so angry at her husband and the reason it’s counterintuitive is because he had passed several years prior. And so even though he was gone, she just had this feeling of just feeling so much anger and upset because she felt like he left her with this big mess. That basically she started to go into this story that they had actually the gas station and the gas station burned down.
But it was just all of these things. And so she was just furious, just irate about the whole thing. So that was one key emotion. Now, another important aspect of this, you hear me say all of the time, there are multiple different emotional links in the subconscious mind, and this is the one that’s even more counterintuitive and it’s this is that Carla was also telling herself over and over.
She shouldn’t have to do this, like she shouldn’t have to be the one that takes care of all of this. Now, while this doesn’t make logical sense at a deeper level, there was part of Carla’s body that didn’t really want to heal because if it did, it would need to what? It would need to. Do something, it would need to clean up the mess. But because basically she was pressuring herself that she needed to take care of all this, she needed to do this, she was so upset about having to do it, and at the same time telling herself she shouldn’t have to. And so ultimately, if you think about it for a moment, the fact that she was injured to the point where she couldn’t even hold a paintbrush.
It kept her from needing to really do anything. And so it’s like her body was listening to her and saying that she shouldn’t have to do it, shouldn’t have to do it, and yet all of these mixed emotions. Pressuring herself, pressuring herself to do it. Then she ended up in a state where she couldn’t do it physically, and so I know it sounds really counterintuitive, but at a deeper level, her body was so upset and angry and not wanting to have to clean up the whole mess, that it really didn’t want to heal itself, or at least not initially.
Because again, as I began working with Carla and showing her how to use her mind in a different way and starting to shift. These emotions into Carla 2.0 or 5.0, next level of life moving forward, who she wants to become, and embracing the change in her life to the next level. That basically, part of what we started talking about was that it’s time to really step into the next chapter.
Her late husband had passed and the reality of it is, is that she’s still youthful, she’s still full of life and. It was really time for her to say, okay, it’s time to step into 2.0 or 5.0 or whatever you want to call it, but next level. And so that’s the insight that I want to share with you once she made that decision to start stepping into her next self.
That is from a place of strength, and, that’s ultimately what you’d want to do if you’re somebody who has felt overwhelmed, angry, frustrated, stuck, fearful, whatever it is, resentful, whatever it is thinking about your life and your future and where you really want to go and then of course. Creating that change, both emotional change in your subconscious mind, really rewiring your mind, but following through with any action and really accessing more and more and more of your strength. And so that’s one of the things that I also love about today’s episode is you could just feel Carla stepped more and more into that feeling of strength.
It was really powerful. And of course. That’s when she also was able to release her pain all the way down to pretty much gone, and she’s the one that did that. And so I love that she could also see that she really does have that power to create that change. She has that ability to start creating that shift in her own health and her own life and of course, that does take follow through to really embrace a genuine transformation, but it’s worth it. I know personally it’s worth it accessing your strength, creating that transformation, having something to really look for, getting yourself excited about 2.0 or 5.0 or the next level of life.
It’s incredible. It’s pivotal. That’s the insight for her and that. The insight that I want to share from this is that if you are in a place where you have been feeling overwhelmed and like you’re frustrated with the current situation, I get it. I was in my own mess many, many, many years ago now.
Thank God it’s been a long time, but I know what that felt like and creating that change and being willing to step into your next best self. Really take your life to the next level. It’s a powerful decision and it’s the best decision you can ever make. If you’re somebody who has been in that place where you’re stuck, you’re frustrated, or you’re angry about the situation, but instead of feeling angry or upset, being willing to genuinely change both inside and any actions that need to be changed and really embracing that genuine change.
