Welcome to Heal Yourself, Change Your Life. My name is Brandy Gillmore, and after recovering from my own life-changing injury, it’s become my mission to share with others the same discoveries I made that changed my health and my entire life. Our minds are truly incredible — the placebo is proof of this.
Each week, I will take this simple awareness to a whole new level. I will even coach live callers to free themselves of physical pain using only their mind. And then I’ll provide you with a combination of practical and spiritual insights that you can use to master your mind, your emotions, and your energy — to help you heal your health, yourself, and your life.
Let’s begin.
The Reward of Doing the Right Thing
Hello, and welcome to today’s Quick IQ Episode, where we talk about insights and questions. Today, I want to share with you a powerful insight that connects directly to last week’s podcast episode — the idea of the reward for doing the right thing.
So often, when people are working on their energy and transformation, they find that when they finally do what’s right — even when it’s uncomfortable — life responds with beautiful rewards. And sometimes those moments can seem small or insignificant, but they’re not. They can be life-changing.
Peter’s Breakthrough: From Fear to Reward
If you recall from last week’s episode, I was working with our wonderful volunteer, Peter. He was caught in a cycle of people pleasing. As a supervisor at a marketing agency, he was afraid to do the right thing because he worried that his employee might not like him. That fear of not being liked was keeping him from acting in integrity toward his company.
What I love about Peter’s story is how it unfolded. After he made the change — after he chose to do the right thing — he was offered a promotion. That’s exactly what I mean by “life rewards you.”
Sometimes it can feel scary to take that step. You may fear ruffling feathers, disappointing people, or losing approval. But when you do what’s right — when you choose integrity over fear — the results are profound.
Facing Fear and Following Integrity
I can absolutely relate to Peter’s experience. When I first began sharing my work publicly, I faced my own fears — fears of judgment and skepticism. After all, my background was in network engineering and operations. I was a tech head! So when I discovered I had the ability to feel energy and sense what others were feeling, my first thought was, “People are going to think I’m crazy.”
But now, of course, it makes complete sense — our bodies emit energy. Just like Wi-Fi and cell signals carry information, energy is information. I simply call it universal Wi-Fi — tuning into the energetic information that’s already there. And I believe we all have the ability to do this, to connect through intuition and energy.
When I look back, I realize that each time I faced my fears and chose integrity — even when it wasn’t easy — life rewarded me. Whether that was through my own healing, growing my work, or deepening my connection to this gift, every time I acted from truth and courage, the universe responded with support.
Addressing Fear Productively
When I first began showing people how to heal themselves, I was nervous about criticism. So I decided to address that fear directly — through proof and transparency. That’s why I demonstrated healing under medical equipment and even had my work published in a medical journal. I wanted to face the fear productively and remain in integrity with my purpose.
Why Integrity Always Wins
Integrity is not always easy — but it’s always right. For me, it means doing what aligns with truth, even when it’s uncomfortable or misunderstood. And this shows up in my work constantly.
You might notice that sometimes, when I’m coaching someone, I take on a bit of a “soccer coach” energy. I might sound firm or encouraging rather than soft and coddling. There’s a reason for that.
When I’m asking someone to step into their strength, it wouldn’t make sense for me to speak to them in a weak or pitying tone. If I did, I’d be sending mixed messages. My tone helps people access courage, determination, and inner power — exactly what’s needed for transformation.
The Subconscious Link Between Love and Illness
Another layer of this is something I’ve discussed in past episodes — how people can subconsciously link love to illness. For example, when a child falls and gets hurt, someone might say, “Let me kiss it and make it better.” In that moment, love gets linked to pain or illness. As adults, this association can remain buried in the subconscious.
So if I were to speak with a client in a deeply nurturing tone while they’re focused on illness, I’d be reinforcing that same emotional link — love connected to illness — which can actually keep them stuck. That’s why I sometimes sound like a coach: I’m helping them break the emotional association that fuels the problem.
Integrity Over Approval
Many practitioners and doctors have told me over the years that I should be more “soft, gentle, and nurturing.” But for me, doing that during a healing session would be out of integrity. I know it wouldn’t help the person achieve the results they want. If I continued giving love in the same emotional way that’s linked to illness, I’d be reinforcing the very pattern we’re trying to release.
That’s why I choose to approach healing with honesty, strength, and compassion — but not with pity or indulgence. It’s about being in alignment and integrity, not just doing what feels comfortable or popular.
Integrity Brings Reward
This idea of doing the right thing, even when it’s hard, shows up constantly — in business, in relationships, and in life. And each time, the outcome is the same: when we act in integrity, we’re rewarded.
Think about Peter’s situation again. The moment he acted in integrity, he not only released pain but also received a promotion. I’ve seen this pattern over and over — whether it’s someone changing how they speak about others, choosing honesty in relationships, or making a hard but right choice at work — life always rewards integrity.
Balance: Avoid Swinging the Pendulum
Before we wrap up, I want to highlight one more important insight. Sometimes, after learning about people pleasing, people swing too far in the opposite direction. They say, “I’m done pleasing anyone,” and become rigid or rebellious.
That, too, can create an integrity issue. For instance, if you’ve agreed to a job or a task, doing it well isn’t “people pleasing” — it’s honoring your word. True integrity isn’t about rebellion; it’s about harmony and responsibility.
So, as you grow, make sure your changes are balanced — courageous but kind, strong yet loving. That’s where true healing and transformation live.
Embodying the Change
Like Peter, once you make a shift and see the rewards, it’s important to embody the change. Continue living it. The more you practice integrity and self-honesty, the easier and more natural it becomes — and the more life responds with abundance, healing, and opportunity.
I truly believe that my ability to connect deeply with energy and intuition comes directly from maintaining a high level of integrity. The more aligned I am, the more open and attuned my connection to the universe — or as I like to call it, “universal Wi-Fi” — becomes.
Closing Message
So, my invitation to you is this: take a look at your life and ask yourself, “Is there an area where I can step into greater integrity?” You may find that doing the right thing — even when it’s uncomfortable — brings beautiful, unexpected rewards.
