Welcome to Heal Yourself, Change Your Life. My name is Brandy Gillmore, and after recovering from my own life changing injury, it's become my mission to share with others the same discoveries I made. that changed my health and my entire life. Our minds are truly incredible. The placebo is proof of this.
Each week I will take this simple awareness to a whole new level. I will even coach live callers to free themselves of physical pain using only their mind. And then I'll provide you with a combination of practical and spiritual insights that you can use to master your mind and body. Your emotions and your energy to help you heal your health, yourself and your life.
Let's begin.
Hello, and welcome to this week's quick IQ episode, where we talk about insights and questions. And today I have a really great question from a listener about the idea of healing and manifesting, and it's just really great. and powerful insight. And so the question actually stems from episode IQ 65. And if you recall, on that episode, we had been talking about that common misconception that people have, where they feel like to manifest something, all they need to do is feel and believe that they already have it.
And that's what we were talking about on that episode. And if you recall, what I had mentioned is that it takes more than that. And one way to illustrate this when it comes to, specifically to healing, if you think about having a scratch on your arm, you know, you don't need to believe that it's going to heal for it to heal itself.
And when we just look at this very simple example, we can see that the body's self healing mechanism is not dependent upon belief. You don't have to look at a scratch and go, I believe it's gonna heal, I feel what it's already, like, gonna heal. That's not what has to happen. Or even for a broken bone, you know, let's say that a kid has a broken bone, you know, they don't have to look at it and say, Oh, I believe it's gonna heal, I believe it's gonna heal for it to heal.
Instead, I mean People have had broken bones that have, they've broken in various places before where they haven't exactly realized even that it was a break and that, you know, heals together in one way or another. Our body is self healing. Now, of course, there are cases where people who have broken bones and they have complications with it healing, and that's a whole nother topic.
But the point being is first, very simply, if we just make this all really simple, we can see that the self healing mechanism That is inside the body is not dependent upon belief in and of itself. Now, of course, there are things that can come up when the body is not healing. And that's what we want to look at is, you know, when there's an illness going on that's not healing, you know, even if you think about it for a moment, Um, even when it comes to, you know, we had talked about Vicky on the last episode, healing herself, you know, going from stage four cancer and going through the process and not only that in her breast and liver and all of that, to healing herself.
And she did it. She's amazing. And when you stop and think about it, I mean, everybody's body creates cancerous cells. And so part of the way to look at it is also to say, okay, well, why isn't the body healing those then? And, and so you look at it in a different way. Why isn't the body healing? And so, again, keeping it simple, we can see that the self healing mechanism of the body is not dependent on belief.
So we can see that, and we can see how the body can not heal, like somebody could even have a broken bone. and it not heal or some type of ailment come up and it not heal and that of course is what we want to look at is what's throwing the body off or why it's not healing so we want to look at that now this person's question in entirety was you know why is it that you know it's not dependent upon belief and feeling and all of that But, in some cases, I've heard you say before to people that you want to picture yourself being healthy.
Now, this is the reason why, okay? Is picturing yourself healthy. goes to a different part of the brain, which can relate to the self image. And what happens is this, is that if a person has been sick for a long period of time, then they start to see themselves as being a sick person, somebody who is sick.
And then in that case, What can happen is that, let's say that they do heal from one injury or illness, then they end up with another or another, or they're so used to being sick and it's part of their identity that the body doesn't want to heal it because it is part of their identity. So, that is a different piece in the mind.
Now, I know this may sound confusing, and by the way, if you've ever been to my website before and you've seen, like, different video courses that I offer, One is a three step course to healing, and the other is a seven step advanced course for healing, and this is part of the reason why, is because if somebody has had an ongoing illness or injury for a really long period of time, maybe they've spent their entire life injured, or have had major life altering situations where they've, you know, been sick for a while and it really has changed and impacted their life in a major way, then it can go into the brain in a variety of additional ways.
So again, just mentioning the self image. So if you've heard me before say that to picture yourself healed, there's a reason why, because It helps your brain focus in the direction you want to go, so that's one benefit of it. Two, it also can help with your self image, to see yourself as being a healthy person.
So that's the second reason that you would want to get a picture of it. But, again, there will be more to it because there's also the emotional energetic component. And that's what we were talking about on episode number 65, is that our emotional energetic connections. are the ones that affect our health.
So, very simply put, you know, if somebody's experiencing anxiety, they can have a panic attack. Or, if somebody's experiencing the emotion of embarrassment, then it can make their face turn red. So, our emotions impact our body. Now, of course, There are other emotions like hate, or resentment, or guilt, or, you know, anger, or all those things that can come up that can affect the body, and actually, divine timing, if you think about the last episode that we just talked about a few days ago, again, with Vicky, we had talked about her healing herself, and if you remember from her original She was in so much pain.
She was on an extreme amount of painkillers and, and all these things because she was experiencing so much pain. And she did it. She changed. And it wasn't by convincing herself it was already healed, it was about really addressing the emotional energetic connections, you know, those emotional energetic neural pathways, if you will, and really transforming them.
So she genuinely felt differently. And so that is a key component for healing is exactly that. So in other words, using the very simple analogy, again, you know, if somebody has anxiety, And, or, you know, they're feeling panic, and they have this panic attack. Well, logically, if they stop that emotion, then they stop that physical panic attack from happening.
You know, that shortness of breath, and racing hard, and feeling like you can't catch your breath. You know, that horrible feeling that comes with it, and the physical response that comes with it. So, if they change the emotion, that's when they get their physical body to react and change. And so, That physical change is the key to making a physical change in your health.
And, of course, when we look at it, like the self image, and focusing on where you want to go, there are other components in the mind. And that's why you'll always hear me say that it takes more than just one emotion, typically. And, you know, if you recall, the analogy that I typically use is, you know, if you have flour, then you can't make cake.
But if you have flour, and you mix it with eggs and butter and yadda yadda yadda, now you have multiple ingredients. And now you can make cake, so to speak, or a different recipe. You know, if you change up the ingredients, then instead you could make some type of chicken, or you could make some type of fish or salad, or, you know, it really depends on your ingredients, if you will.
And if you think back to every podcast volunteer that I've worked with, every single one has had multiple different, factors, multiple different emotions and links in their mind that we've shifted. So there's not one where I've said, Hey, it's only this one thing. Instead, you know, if you think back, I mean, people have released, you know, shifted back pain or leg pain or shoulder pain.
I mean, even eyesight. I mean, all kinds of things. If you think about past episodes and on every single one, There's been multiple ingredients. And so, again, I always try to keep everything very, very, very simple. Because one of the biggest things that I want you to get from this is, Yes, you can get results.
Absolutely. And there's a calculated way to do that. And it makes sense. And there's logic. And that's beautiful. Because if we can get results back to back to back, and we can make that change, and we can see that there's a logical way to do it, and there's a formula, Then, hey, like, we can really do this. We can change the world.
We can see health in a different way. We can understand that our mind needs to be involved in the healing process. And so, that part is, is absolutely beautiful. And, if we're all so honest with it, and in reality, There are some complexities. So, all the time, people just think to themselves, which is exactly what we were talking about on episode IQ 65, is they hear misconceptions where they're told, all you have to do is believe that you're already healed, and feel that you're already healed, and that's all you have to do.
And I hear that over and over again. And by the way, I'm not criticizing anybody. I spent several years, several, several, several years, on my healing journey, trying to do exactly that. Have gratitude for my healing, and feel like I was already healed, and be grateful, and see myself healthy, and all these things.
And I did that for years. I mean, so much so, that I had multiple realities. Like, cause I really, really wanted to get better. And so to a point where it was making my brain a little crazy, where I was so focused that I was already healed. I was already feeling healed. I was convincing myself I was already healed.
I was doing affirmations and written and chance and convincing myself and visualization and I mean, all of these things, forcing myself, feeling like I was already healed and it wasn't working. And that's what made me really look at the deep dive and saying, what do we really need to do? to make that change.
And that's where the understanding of different parts of the brain also came in. And that's what radically changed everything. And so that's what you want to notice is that there are different pieces, there are different ingredients. And that's why I say that all the time. And that's why even every single podcast episode at the end, it always says, I make this look easier than it really is.
There are complexities, but the goal is just to simplify them and to be real with what's real and to make the change and you can do it. And what's beautiful, again, you know, again, divine timing is even if you think back to last episode about Vicky who's healed herself and going back to work and in love with life and, you know, specifically mentioned she got rid of feelings of hurt and anger and guilt and victim and, and that now she just, you know, She just feels love and she's really changed, I mean, just beautiful, beautiful, beautiful being and she did that by making a real change and for a lot of people it's like they're trying to bypass the process.
They don't want to really change, they're just trying to force themselves and convince themselves they're already healed and I see that time and time again and again. I was doing that and so until I realized. And it wasn't working. And you know, funny enough, when I worked in network engineering and operations prior to my injury, part of what I did was, I resolved network issues, you know, so there'd be major network outages and whatnot and I would help to fix them.
Identify what the problem was and fix them, which has really helped me in what I'm doing now. But, that was my job. Now, I had what we called an MTTR of five years. which means a mean time to repair was four hours. So if something was broken, I was supposed to have it up in that period of time. And if not, there were financial repercussions for the company and all these things.
So that was my whole focus is if something went down, get it up. So then when I was working on healing myself and it had been more than four hours, more than four years, and it wasn't working, I was like, you know, have to do something. different. And so, um, and it was much more than four years, you know, closer to seven years, but that's what drove me to figure it out.
And so if you're stuck in, if you're there, that's what you want to just keep in mind is that there are multiple pieces, multiple components to healing, but you can absolutely get results as you've seen on every single past episode with people. And healing and transforming and, and making changes. And it is absolutely possible and of course it does take real change.
It does take reprogramming your subconscious mind. It does take really feeling different. But, that is the gift. And, again, going back to last episode with Vicki, you can see the gift and the change, I mean, it just, it's so beautiful, and I'm excited for her and her future, where that goes, I mean, she's just, again, just a beautiful being, and so many others, even every volunteer, you look at them, I have to say, you know, honestly, we are so blessed.
With the best volunteers, with beautiful hearts, great self awareness. I mean, just, I'm so grateful. And it's, it's just beautiful. So thank you guys for being here.
