In recent episodes, we’ve been exploring some of the more counterintuitive things in healing and personal transformation—the things that can seem positive on the surface, yet sometimes backfire or keep people stuck.
And this episode feels like divine timing because the pattern that came up is such a tricky one.
So often, people desperately want to help the ones they love the most.
They want them to heal.
They want them to feel better.
They want them to have an incredible life.
And it can come from the most genuine, loving place.
But what happens when the person you are trying so hard to help begins pulling away?
In this short breakthrough episode, Brandy shares an important insight from working with a beautiful volunteer who genuinely wanted the very best for the people she loved.
Her intentions were caring. Her heart was in the right place.
And yet, without realizing it, the more she tried to help and change the people around her, the more frustration and disconnection began showing up.
That is what makes this pattern so easy to miss.
In this episode, you’ll discover:
• Why loving intentions can sometimes create an unexpected response
• How trying to help can become emotionally triggering for both people
• Why someone may begin pulling away even when your intentions are completely genuine
• The simple perspective shift that helped Brandy’s volunteer see the pattern differently
• How more love, connection, and understanding can begin changing the dynamic
Sometimes the very thing that comes from love can create a result you never intended.
And once you see what is really happening underneath, it can completely change the way you approach the people you care about.

Welcome to Heal Yourself. Change Your Life. I’m Brandy Gillmore, and what I’m most known for is helping people to create radical transformations, and even demonstrating the power of the mind and self-healing under medical equipment so you can see the results. And my work has even been published in a medical journal because it’s truly incredible what we are all capable of when we understand our own minds at a deeper level.
So whether you’re new to this work or you’ve been studying the power of the mind for many years, I love that you are here. I love that we’re on this incredible journey together, and I look forward to sharing breakthrough information with you. That said, on this podcast, I’ll share two types of episodes.
First, self-healing episodes where I share key insights from working with live volunteers. And the second type are where I answer questions from the audience. That said, if you’d like to volunteer or submit a question, come visit me at BrandyGillmore.com. On that note, let’s dive in
Hello and happy beautiful day to you. I want to add in a quick but important note to make this podcast very easy to navigate because today’s episode has a special format. Today I worked with a live volunteer and as you probably know, there are a lot of people who are now using AI to modify information online.
For that reason, we have taken an extra step to help protect our beautiful volunteer and the integrity of this work to help keep the information from being modified. And we actually love how this turned out because it provides you with even more information. This is how it works. On today’s episode, you’ll hear an overview of the person that I worked with and I will provide you with simple but powerful breakthrough insights that helped our volunteer begin making a radical shift.
Then at the end of this short breakthrough episode, if you are ready for a deep dive, you can click in the show notes to gain access to the actual self-healing session where I worked directly with the live volunteer. This enables us to help protect the information online from being modified while still continuing to provide you with powerful information to help bridge the gap between science and spirituality and personal empowerment because it’s truly incredible what you are capable of when you learn to understand your mind at a deeper level.
That said, let’s dive into the simple but powerful insights that came from working with today’s volunteer. Here we go.
Over this past week, there has been this theme of patterns of things in mind body healing or transformation that feel good, but can keep you stuck or even backfire at a deeper level. And today there’s an additional one that came up with my beautiful volunteer, and it’s this. It’s that so often people want so badly to change the people that they love because they care.
You know, it’s this feeling of as you’re waking up to more and more and more self-awareness and more self-healing and the power of the mind, of course, when you care about people you love, you want them to reap the rewards. You want them to have an incredible life. And so it can feel hard not to say something.
But imagine for a moment if you felt like in your life, you know, somebody you love is following you around, trying to change you, trying to change you based on their beliefs. What happens? Well, likely you’d run. Likely you want to get away from them. And unfortunately, I see that over and over again where somebody is…
who has a, a beautiful heart, who is waking up to the awareness of the power of the mind and what we’re capable of, and then unfortunately the way that it ends up coming out to people around them is a feeling of trying to control them or change them, and it can show up as frustration or hurt. And surprisingly, it can also show up as health issues and pain.
And I see that all of the time. In fact, I’ve seen serious illnesses connected to this very pattern, and that’s part of the reason that it’s coming up, is actually I worked with a beautiful volunteer today. Her name is Tasha, and she’s, she’s so sweet. She is so caring. She’s so loving, and she has people in her life that she just really, really, really, really, really wants to change and wants to fix.
The problem is, is those people don’t want to be fixed or changed, and so it has become this huge frustration and stress. And then even inside what can happen is there’s a feeling can happen of looking down on somebody else or whatnot. Now, the other issue that comes up is this, is under these situations, in these circumstances, what happens to love?
What happens to connection? Well, love, connection, fun, and joy can get lost in all of this because instead of laughing and enjoying and connecting and loving and the sweet, beautiful connection there could be- There’s a feeling of defensiveness or reactiveness or avoidance or rejection and frustration and irritation, and that is something that I see all of the time where a person…
What happens is I’ve also seen, you know, somebody ends up getting where their people around them are avoiding them, and then they feel this sense of loneliness and rejection. And again, this is something that I see all of the time. Now, what’s beautiful is this, is that the volunteer that I worked with today, again, she’s so caring and so sweet, and she just, she…
It’s so genuine, and yet it’s hurting her relationships and w- ultimately, and her health. And so ultimately what I worked with her on was she had neck pain, but she also had a history of all kinds of… She had all kinds of, uh, stomach and digestive issues, and also a history of cancer and, and just a lot of different illnesses throughout her life going on, not only in her but, like, in her animal.
Like, it’s just been literally all around her. And so much so that even as I started working with her, like when I very first connected with her, I started asking her, you know, what was going on with her health, and she just, she went into tears. She’s just like, “I’m so afraid of having something else go on with my health.”
And, and of course, we got her laughing and connecting and, and sweet, and, and she made an incredible shift in her energy and was able to bring her pain way down, and she did that, which was beautiful by shifting her mindset. And this was one of the key patterns was exactly this, is that, uh, it’s just the feeling of wanting, you know, from a genuine place to fix somebody.
And so, so often that- that’s what’s confusing. That’s what can feel challenging is because it comes from a place of love. It comes from a place of care. It comes from a place of doing good. But on the receiving end How would it feel to you in your life? Like, if somebody’s trying to control you based on their beliefs, and they’re trying to control you, and change you, and change you, and fix you, and fix you, and fix you, and fix you, and tell you what to do, and change you.
It doesn’t feel good. And so of course, if that’s the situation, instead it’s, you know, having somebody else become excited about it, giving them a, a book or a video, or, “Oh my gosh, I just saw this. This is amazing,” or, or a podcast or whatever it is. But getting them… ’cause excited about it. Because when they’re excited about it, they want to change themselves.
And if they’re not excited about it, then you wouldn’t want to force them, and instead you just want to love them for them. And that is the insight that I really want to share today is exactly that, is thinking about your relationships and noticing, are you wanting to change people? Are you wanting to fix people?
Because on the, on the other side, so often I see people who have the sweetest hearts, who are just so kind, who are so caring, and feel so rejected and so lonely and disconnected because they’re doing that very thing. They are trying to fix everybody around them. And as- And it’s not… It’s unsolicited fixing, which is controlling.
So it ends up feeling like everybody around them doesn’t want to be around them or avoids them, and then they have all of this hurt. And so food for thought, because I see it so often. I’ve seen it from mothers who are wanting to fix their grown children, and eventually their grown children are, like, avoiding their mom.
And there’s been so much hurt. Or friends or family or a wife to a husband or vice versa. It just, all of the time. And so food for thought. It, it may seem like a, a small shift, but it’s really profound and big if you action it. Creating that feeling of love, creating that feeling of connection, loving somebody just the way they are, even if you can’t fix them, that, and having fun and creating love, that is, in many cases, that can be part of the fix in and of itself, is just having that fun, having that connection.
So food for thought, and that’s the insight that I really want to share with you. Just, again, seeing this so often is inviting yourself to ask yourself and really look at that in your life. Because with my beautiful volunteer, she didn’t even realize how much she was doing it. And also when I switched it around on her and I said, “Okay.
Well, imagine if he’s chasing you around the house wanting to change you based on his beliefs. How would you feel?” And of course we were laughing. We were laughing beautiful. She just has a wonderful, wonderful sense of humor, um, just a beautiful, beautiful being. So when she looked at it to the other side, she was like, “Oh, gosh.
Now I can…” She got it. She could see it. And what was also great is, of course- Her pain really started to shift and change, which was great because she was in so much pain. And so food for thought. And of course, if you are somebody who’s wanting to listen to the actual session with my beautiful volunteer, you can click the link in the show notes.
Or if you are somebody who’s wanting to understand mind body healing and really gain a deeper understanding of how I’ve been able to get results even under medical equipment, there is a free training in the show notes. So that is available as well. And as always, please do take just a quick moment to hit the share button on this episode.
You know, share it with somebody you love, somebody you care about, or somebody you don’t even know, because the more that every single person feels happy and healthy and loved and loving, and they want to be in that place of transformation, truly the better this world is for all of us. And so please do take just a quick moment to hit the share button, and please do make a point to have an incredible rest of your day.
I look forward to connecting with you on the next episode. We’ll see you there.
