Have you ever felt left out, disconnected, or unable to participate in life because of a health issue?
It can be easy to think:
“Once I heal, then I’ll finally be able to connect, participate, and do the things I want to do.”
But what if there is something important hidden inside that very pattern?
In this episode, Brandy shares a counterintuitive insight that came up while working with a beautiful volunteer who had been struggling with multiple health issues—and also had a longstanding pattern of feeling left out and disconnected.
What surfaced during their work together reveals an important mind-body healing catch-22 that can be incredibly easy to overlook.
In this episode, you’ll discover:
• Why the emotional pattern surrounding a health issue may be important to look at differently
• How “I’ll feel better once I heal” can sometimes keep people looking in the wrong direction
• Why loneliness, disconnection, fear, or other emotional patterns may need to be addressed at a deeper level
• The difference between surface-level positive thinking and creating a real internal change
• Why changing the deeper pattern can affect far more than just the original problem
So often, people search the past asking, “What trauma created this?”
But sometimes, an important part of the pattern is also happening right now—and the health issue itself may be reinforcing the very emotions someone is trying to escape.
That is what makes this insight so counterintuitive.
And when you begin identifying and genuinely changing those deeper patterns, it can open the door to a completely different way of approaching healing, connection, happiness, and life.

Welcome to Heal Yourself. Change Your Life. I’m Brandy Gillmore, and what I’m most known for is helping people to create radical transformations, and even demonstrating the power of the mind and self-healing under medical equipment so you can see the results. And my work has even been published in a medical journal because it’s truly incredible what we are all capable of when we understand our own minds at a deeper level.
So whether you’re new to this work or you’ve been studying the power of the mind for many years, I love that you’re here. I love that we’re on this incredible journey together, and I look forward to sharing breakthrough information with you. That said, on this podcast, I’ll share two types of episodes.
First, self-healing episodes where I share key insights from working with live volunteers. And the second type are where I answer questions from the audience. That said, if you’d like to volunteer or submit a question, come visit me at BrandyGillmore.com. On that note, let’s dive in.
Hello and happy beautiful day to you. I want to add in a quick but important note to make this podcast very easy to navigate because today’s episode has a special format. Today, I worked with a live volunteer, and as you probably know, there are a lot of people who are now using AI to modify information online.
For that reason, we have taken an extra step to help protect our beautiful volunteer and the integrity of this work to help keep the information from being modified. And we actually love how this turned out because it provides you with even more information. This is how it works. On today’s episode, you’ll hear an overview of the person that I worked with, and I will provide you with simple but powerful breakthrough insights that helped our volunteer begin making a radical shift.
Then at the end of this short breakthrough episode, if you are ready for a deep dive, you can click in the show notes to gain access to the actual self-healing session where I worked directly with the live volunteer. This enables us to help protect the information online from being modified while still continuing to provide you with powerful information to help bridge the gap between science and spirituality and personal empowerment, because it’s truly incredible what you are capable of when you learn to understand your mind at a deeper level.
That said, let’s dive into the simple but powerful insights that came from working with today’s volunteer. Here we go
Have you ever felt left out or not included because of a health issue? If so, what you’ll want to know is that that can be part of the very pattern that is contributing to the health issue, and this is what I mean, is that so often when people have a health issue and they’re working on mind body healing, they’re looking for what is the trauma, and they’re thinking in terms of trauma or fear or whatnot.
But what can happen, and what tend to happened with today’s volunteer was this, is that she had a pattern of always feeling not included or left out, and more than anything, she just wanted to be included and be included. And so what ultimately was happening in her life is that something would always come up that she didn’t get included, and commonly it would be a health issue.
And so it was part of this pattern of not feeling included that was also perpetuating the very pattern that’s connected to her health issue. And so what’s tricky is this, is because so often people will say this. They’ll say, “Well, as soon as I get rid of my health issue, then I can do or be or something.”
But they don’t realize that the health issue is part of the problem. And this is what I mean, and this is what I did in my own life. In my own life, I said I was in all of this fear because I, you know, I was injured and in so much pain, and my whole life had fallen apart. And I said, “Well, as soon as I get rid of this health issue, everything will feel a lot safer.”
But the problem is, is part of what was contributing to the health issue was the fear. So in other words, fear was connected. So in other words, in my mind, I thought, “Well, I will feel safe if I could just heal.” But it was also backwards. If I could work on feeling safe, it would be part of the key to helping me heal.
Or with our beautiful volunteer today, she’s felt like, “If I could just get rid of this health issue, I could really connect with others.” And part of that’s opposite because ultimately she needed to be able to heal the part where she felt like she couldn’t connect and always wanted to connect with others so that, because it was part of the health issue.
So there was that huge pattern that was repeating in her life where she always felt disconnected. And by the way, our, the, today’s volunteer, she’s an absolute sweetheart. You can feel her heart and joy and love pouring out everywhere. I mean, she’s just so sweet and wants to connect with people and be included, and she’s just, just so much energy and so fun and so sweet, and yet feeling so disconnected and held back from everything that she’s been wanting.
And so of course, what I love about this is when we just start working and being real with what’s real, that’s when I see radical healing occur. Like even in my own life, as I really started to get rid of fear and release that at a deeper level and other patterns, survivor’s guilt, etcetera. But as I started releasing those patterns and feeling more safe, that’s when my body started healing.
And so it just can be… It’s like the catch 22, if you will, that can keep you stuck. And, and so often I see that, where I see people go, “You know, if I could just… As soon as I could get rid of this health issue, then I can just do the very thing that I want to do.” And sometimes it’s exactly opposite. It’s like, okay, if we can just make the change that we need to make on the inside, then we can heal to then do what we want to do.
So I know it sounds completely counterintuitive, but think about it this way. You know, in my own life, imagine for a moment if, you know, if I said, “Okay, well, as soon as I get rid of the health issue, then I can feel safe-” But how is my nervous system and my body going to heal if I’m feeling all the fear, right?
In my own case. Or in, in our beautiful volunteer feeling lonely or disconnected on the inside, and then just saying, “Well, as soon as I heal, then I can connect with everybody.” But it’s like this feeling of loneliness and, and disconnect doesn’t help and create that healing state. And so, so often it’s exactly backwards, but if we’re willing to really look at things in a different way and f- f- fulfill the thing that we’re missing, or create that, or really change that on the inside, then it ultimately helps life unfold in a more beautiful way to create what it is that you’re wanting.
So you hear me say all of the time that when we really address the health issue, that it turns into a life-changing gift, and it’s because the, the very problem can be connected to the health issue. Meaning that the emotional issue and the issue in the mindset can be connected to the very problem and hurt that’s going on at the same time, if that makes sense.
So even somebody who’s got a strong feeling of feeling agitated can feel even more agitated with a health issue that’s continuing to the pattern. And so it, I know it feels counterintuitive or hard for somebody to say, “Okay, well, I have to let go of agitation-” To then heal because the health issue can actually increase the very problem that we need to actually get rid of and release completely.
And so I know it can be a little tricky, but that’s kind of the point, and that’s the reason that so often people can stay stuck, is that that very pattern can be increased with the actual health issue itself. And so if we address it and really resolve it, that’s when everything becomes pivotal. Like in my own life, I said, “Okay,” which is counterintuitive, where I really started releasing fear and, and other, you know, s- um, uh, self- self-sacrifice and, and, um, and feeling survivor’s guilt and, and those things, but really releasing that fear also, which is counterintuitive.
Who’s injured and starts releasing fear? You know? But, but I did. And fear towards life and future and all of the things. And so really creating that change enabled my body to heal. And so what I love is that ultimately, as we do, it turns into a life-changing gift, and I see that all of the time. But it does take a real change, and that was another insight that came up with today’s volunteer, is that it’s nice to just say, “Okay, I’m gonna change,” or something like that, like to, to affirm it and to think it.
But it’s also really important to get it into the nervous system at a deeper, deeper, deeper level. And so that’s the other insight that I want to share with you is because just positive thinking or the surface level or the, the affirmations or whatnot, I don’t typically see as being strong enough. It does take that real change at a deeper level, but when that happens, that’s when it becomes truly, truly pivotal, and I see people create radical changes in their health, their life, their happiness all of the time.
And so it’s truly incredible what we are all capable of. And so that’s the insight that I wanted to share with you because that can be very tricky, very counterintuitive, and so often people are overlooking that very thing. They’re saying, “Okay, what was it in my childhood that did XYZ?” Not realizing- That it’s part of the very thing that’s going on even in the now.
So just food for thought, and by the way, if you are somebody who’s wanting a deeper understanding of mind body healing, there is a link for a free training in the show notes, so that is available. And by the way, if you are wanting to listen to this entire, um, uh, session where I worked with our beautiful volunteer Linda, then there’s also a link in the show notes as well.
You’re absolutely going to love her. She’s just… She’s so sweet, you just want to hug her. She’s, she’s sweet, she’s lovely, she’s energetic and full of life, and has been struggling with multiple health issues and is so ready to just be happy and healthy. And so I just, I love her energy, and so if you want to listen to that session as well, that link is also in the show notes.
And on that note, I also want to ask you to take just a quick moment to hit the share button on this episode. You know, share it with somebody you love, somebody you care about, or somebody you don’t even know, because the more that every single person in our world feels happy and healthy and loved and loving, truly the better this world is for all of us.
And so please do take a moment to hit the share button, and please do have an incredible rest of your day. I look forward to connecting with you on the next episode. We’ll see you there.
