Sometimes the hardest part is not the work itself. It is the waiting…
Waiting for the shift. Waiting to feel better. Waiting for your body, your emotions, or your life to finally change.
And when you have been hoping, trying, and expecting things to move forward—but they still have not—it can feel confusing and discouraging.
In this powerful episode, Brandy shares a deeper look at how hidden subconscious programming can quietly shape a person’s emotions, health, relationships, and ability to move forward.
Brandy explores how simple childhood experiences, cultural patterns, and even nursery rhymes can create subconscious associations with fear, injury, illness, love, attention, or connection. And when these links remain unaddressed, they can quietly contribute to heaviness, stress, anxiety, emotional triggers, or feeling stuck.
This episode is not about blame or endlessly digging through trauma. It is about becoming more aware of what may be stored in the subconscious mind so you can begin to clear what no longer serves you—and experience more lightness, freedom, joy, and empowerment.
If you have ever felt like you are waiting for the breakthrough you have been hoping for, this episode may help you see what could be happening beneath the surface—and why identifying hidden subconscious patterns can feel so freeing.

Welcome to Heal Yourself. Change Your Life. I’m Brandy Gillmore, and what I’m most known for is helping people to create radical transformations and even demonstrating the power of the mind and self-healing under medical equipment so you can see the results. And my work has even been published in a medical journal because it’s truly incredible what we are all capable of when we understand our own minds at a deeper level.
So whether you’re new to this work or you’ve been studying the power of the mind for many years, I love that you’re here, I love that we’re on this incredible journey together, and I look forward to sharing breakthrough information with you. That said, on this podcast, I’ll share two types of episodes.
First, self-healing episodes where I share key insights from working with live volunteers. And the second type are where I answer questions from the audience. That said, if you’d like to volunteer or submit a question, come visit me at BrandyGillmore.com. On that note, let’s dive in
So many people reached out about the insight that I shared on last week’s podcast episode about the example how love or illness and problems can get linked up in the subconscious mind. Now, I want to unpack that a bit more because the more that you really see the awareness, the easier it is to create the radical shift and really change it.
And so a few insights that I want to share to help you to really understand the subconscious mind and ultimately what you’ll want to do to be able to heal yourself and change your life. And so kind of bringing this together, the insight that I shared last week, if you listened to that, was basically how a young child could have a little owie.
You know, maybe a two-year-old has an owie, and a loving adult comes by with good intentions and says, “Okay. Well, let me kiss it and make it better.” The problem is, is that that can get linked up to illness, where it’s like kissing an owie, that can link up love to illness, not because somebody’s trying to link it up, but because that information gets stored in the subconscious mind.
Now, a simple way to think about that is like this, is that it’s like imagine if you put your hand out and somebody smacks your hand, and you put your hand out again, and somebody smacks it, and you put it out again. What do you think is going to happen? Well, what happens is that information gets linked up, so you might start be- being concerned and afraid to put your hand out because, again, you could feel or expect that somebody’s going to smack it, if you will.
Using that analogy, now what can happen is the th- same thing can happen with, you know, the little owie where a child gets an injury And then they start to expect love and connection. Now, they don’t want that, but information gets stored in the subconscious mind whether we want to or not. So it’s not about wanting it to happen.
It’s just about the information getting linked up. Now, what is profound is this, is when you start to really look at it, you begin to realize this information is literally all around us, even in childhood. And an example is this, is that if you think about it, how often would you say that somebody goes to the hospital and maybe they get flowers for going to the…
Like, they get ill. So what happens is, if they go to the hospital or they have some type of illness and then everybody sends them flowers, they can get it linked up in the subconscious mind that illness or trauma or whatnot gets flowers. Then if they’re– there’s a part of them that wants flowers, the subconscious mind says, “I know how to get it.
Get sick.” Not that a person would want to. It just gets linked up. So of course, there are other ways. It might say, okay, have a birthday or anniversary or whatever it is. So I mean, there’s many different ways. Get married. There’s many different ways, but it depends on what gets linked up in the subconscious mind.
It gets stored. Now, if we think about our culture and how this gets linked up all around us, if you stop and think about it, even fear gets linked up, and illness and injury gets linked up in nursery rhymes. Like if you’ve ever heard before, Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water. Jack fell down and broke his crown, and Jill came tumbling afterwards.
I mean, there he is. I mean, it’s crazy. Or, uh, the Rock-a-bye Baby, the cradle will rock. Like the, the cra- like the cradle breaks and the baby comes tumbling down, cradle and all. I mean, whoa. I know I just kinda butchered that a little bit, but my point is, is that even in these nursery rhymes where you think they’re supposed to be loving and sweet There’s that illness and illness or fall or fear gets linked up in the subconscious mind.
And then this is what happens, is the information gets stored up throughout our lives, and then people don’t even realize it’s there because it’s of course in the subconscious mind. And so when I was working on healing myself, of course, you know, I, I was, you know, twenty-plus years ago now when I was really trying to figure it out and, and you know, the placebo.
So I could see the power of the mind through the placebo or, you know, I was looking at meditation and doing that for years and years and years, and frequencies and the vagus nerve and binaural beats and frequencies and all of those things. And you know, all that stuff can be nice, but it wasn’t working.
And I was trying for everything from supplements and just everything, right? Acupuncture, acupressure, and meditation, like just so many things. It just wasn’t working. So I got very grounded, very, very grounded and simple. And my point is, is that the more you really get… just get practical with the subconscious mind and you really start to understand it and simplify it You start to see it everywhere.
And that’s ultimately part of what I’m wanting to share today is just, you know, so many people were mind-blown about the childhood, you know, it getting linked up in the subconscious mind, but there are so many other ways information gets linked in the subconscious mind. And, you know, when you stop and think about it, illness is growing and, and more and more people are ill, and the body isn’t healing in most cases.
People are just getting more and more and more sickness. And so we can see the power of the mind though, and that’s what you ultimately want to look at, is the more you can just simplify it, the easier it becomes to really do. And so even if you, you hear me use the example all the time, if somebody’s embarrassed, their face turns red or nervous.
Somebody can feel nervous, and it doesn’t have to be some major trauma. So they can feel nervous and have sweaty palms, and maybe they have an interview or a date and they’re feeling that. That’s the mind body connection. And so the more as a culture that we start to realize that these emotions, this impact is all around us, and then the more that we can action it to actually use it to heal ourselves, it becomes incredible.
Now, another insight is this, is that so often what can happen is people are trying to heal themselves, and yet there’s stress or there’s fear or these… there’s these unconscious triggers that are triggering them in life and keeping them from getting the results that they want. And so what I’d invite you to do in, in your life is start becoming aware of the things that are going on.
Start becoming aware of what is triggering you, what is going on, where is this programming coming from? Because so often what you start to realize is just like you can see the, the nursery rhymes or the, the child or whatnot, you start to realize in a very practical way, the mind body connection and mind body healing is literally everywhere around us.
And unfortunately, what I see happen all the time is I see a lot of people exactly where I was, where they’re trying every single thing they can he– to, to try to heal, and yet it’s not working because these details, they matter. It’s like, you know, on a computer, the details matter or, you know, anything that we do, if you really want to succeed at it, the details matter.
And so I’ll see people who have been years and years and years digging up old trauma, one trauma after another after another, and not realizing that, you know, maybe it’s… there’s guilt. If you think about it for a moment, a person can even have guilty eating. They can feel guilt for eating something and oh, I…
they feel bad about eating this and eating that, so they have patterns of guilt that are showing up all around them that are impacting their health, their life in a very real, real way. And so that’s, that’s the insight that I want to share, is just bringing that down to reality, you know, and, and really creating that change because there’s a few things that are powerful, is when you do and you really change what’s impacting you and, and maybe you’re not consciously aware of it, but when you really change these things, life feels better.
It’s like you, you don’t realize these things are making people bad, making, making you feel bad at a subconscious level. You know, going back to the nursery rhymes, who would think that nursery rhymes would have fear in them or injury? Jack fell down and broke his crown, and Jill came tumbling after. And all of this stuff gets just stored up in the subconscious mind, and then you wonder why people are feeling depressed or, or discouraged, or can’t heal, or feeling heavy and they don’t know why, or feeling stressed or anxiety.
It’s like putting a bunch of this information in the subconscious mind, and it just stays there And so of course, when you start to really identify it, that’s when it’s pivotal. And so, you know, I– as I mentioned, I was doing all of the things, the frequency, the meditation, the affirmations, all of the things.
But when I just said, “Okay, let me just get real with what’s real,” you know? “Let me look. Let me understand the subconscious mind. What is in the subconscious mind? Let me rewire what’s in my subconscious mind.” What happens is this, is it’s like you start to really, um… Start to feel free of things you didn’t even know were there.
It’s like a, a way to think about it is if you did a major spring cleaning on your house, and it just feels so good, and it’s just like that freedom. Your body, your being, your life starts to feel that way. It’s just this lightness and this free, freeing feeling. Or another way to describe it is like this.
It’s kind of a silly example, but it’s like imagine a TV show, if you will. If you’ve ever seen maybe a movie, and let’s say there’s this movie, and even if everything looks fine. So let’s say there’s this scene in a movie that looks fine, and yet there’s this eerie feeling or this fearful feeling because maybe it’s in a, a scary movie or something like that.
But it’s in this, this scene where everything looks fine, but it’s got this feeling, maybe a heavy feeling or a feeling of fear or a feeling of unsafe. What happens so often is that it’s like our world, our consciousness has these underlying feelings. And even if everything is fine, even if everything in the, the scene, if you will, is fine, just like a, a film.
Even if everything is fine visually or through a day to day to day to day to day, there’s these feelings, these undertones, if you will. These, these feelings it… from the subconscious mind that can pull you down, that can be heavy weight. And what happens is, as you start to get rid of these feelings, and you start to clear them from your subconscious mind, you start to realize, like, that life feels full of life, feels full of joy, feels lighter, feels freer by really ultimately releasing- the stuff that gets, gets stored up in the subconscious mind that we don’t even realize.
And so that’s the insight that I want to share with you is just that deeper level of awareness because so often I see people when they heal themselves and they really get it and they understand, okay, we need to identify what’s in the subconscious mind and then change it. It becomes pivotal and freeing and healing and transformative and happy and empowering and just so many things.
It’s like the more you release all of that stuff, the more the best of you shows up, the more the best of life shows up. It just feels easier and better and happier. And so that’s the insight that I want to share with you is just more clarity on the awareness of what happens and what you’ll want to do and creating the change and not bypassing things or just putting affirmations or positive thinking or whatnot on all of that.
And yes, that’s, that can all be, it has, can all have its place. So it’s not about saying anything negative about that stuff. It’s just saying to get results. The reason that I’ve been able to take people and show people even under medical equipment to be able to create a radical shift. If you’ve seen my work under medical equipment to create a radical shift, it’s doing exactly that.
It’s identifying the specifics in the mind and creating that radical change. So it’s freeing, it’s empowering. That of course is my hope for you and for everybody in our world. And so those are the insights that I want to share today. And of course, if you’re wanting additional information on understanding mind body healing, there is a link for a free training in the show notes.
