Imagine walking past a fire while everyone around you acts like it’s perfectly normal. That’s how most of us treat our emotions—normalizing patterns that quietly affect our happiness, our health, and our ability to truly thrive.
In this mini episode, Brandy shares insights from her session with volunteer Mark, who was navigating cancer and feeling as though he had never quite followed through on what he truly wanted in life.
As they worked together, a deeper pattern surfaced—one that millions of people carry without realizing what it’s quietly costing them.
In this episode, you’ll discover:
Most people try to fight these patterns or “release” them. But Brandy reveals why that often doesn’t create lasting change—and what actually does.

Welcome to Heal Yourself. Change Your Life. I’m Brandy Gillmore, and what I’m most known for is helping people to create radical transformations and even demonstrating the power of the mind and self-healing under medical equipment so you can see the results. And my work has even been published in a medical journal because it’s truly incredible what we are all capable of when we understand our own minds at a deeper level.
So whether you’re new to this work or you’ve been studying the power of the mind for many years, I love that you are here. I love that we’re on this incredible journey together, and I look forward to sharing breakthrough information with you. That said, on this podcast, I’ll share two types of episodes.
First, self-healing episodes where I share key insights from working with live volunteers. And the second type are where I answer questions from the audience. That said, if you’d like to volunteer or submit a question, come visit me at BrandyGillmore.com. On that note, let’s dive in
Hello and happy beautiful day to you. I want to add in a quick but important note to make this podcast very easy to navigate because today’s episode has a special format. Today, I worked with a live volunteer, and as you probably know, there are a lot of people who are now using AI to modify information online.
For that reason, we have taken an extra step to help protect our beautiful volunteer and the integrity of this work to help keep the information from being modified. And we actually love how this turned out because it provides you with even more information. This is how it works. On today’s episode, you’ll hear an overview of the person that I worked with, and I will provide you with simple but powerful breakthrough insights that helped our volunteer begin making a radical shift.
Then at the end of this short breakthrough episode, if you are ready for a deep dive, you can click in the show notes to gain access to the actual self-healing session where I worked directly with the live volunteer. This enables us to help protect the information online from being modified while still continuing to provide you with powerful information to help bridge the gap between science and spirituality and personal empowerment, because it’s truly incredible what you are capable of when you learn to understand your mind at a deeper level.
That said, let’s dive into the simple but powerful insights that came from working with today’s volunteer. Here we go.
All right, so imagine you’re walking down the street and you see this fire, and everybody else is doing nothing. And you’re feeling like alarmed, like, “Hey, we need to do something. There’s a fire.” And everybody else actually starts thinking you’re weird that you want to do something, and like even thinking, “What’s wrong with you?”
And so what could happen is you could start to question yourself like, “Wait a second here. Why is nobody paying attention to this?” Like, “Why is nobody reacting? There’s a fire.” Right? Now, if you stop and think about it for a moment, that is the mindset and working with the mind, and this is what I mean, is that we’ve all known stress affects the physical body.
We’ve known that. It’s proven. It is proven in research since the 1970s even that stress can impact the immune system. In fact, every single ailment from hearing, from eyesight, to flare-ups with autoimmune conditions, to cancer, to all kinds of illnesses are known to be impacted by, quote-unquote, stress, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
You know, if you’ve seen my work, you also know that I’ve even been able to show results even under medical equipment of people releasing pain, but I see all kinds of things that are absolutely incredible. Now, when we stop and think about it for a moment, part of the problem in our world is that when it comes to emotions, a lot of us were raised like this, like, “Oh, you have emotions?”
Like, “You’re gonna work with your… That’s emotional.” And by the way, I was raised like that. I used to be like that. I was, you know, raised in a, working in the corporate world where you leave your emotions at the door. I don’t even know if I knew I had emotions. I was so good at burying them. Something felt uncomfortable, bury it, right?
I remember, like, the one time my mother cried growing up. Now, she probably maybe did it more than that. I don’t know, but she hid it. Either way, we didn’t have emotions or at least that was my perception. Either way, and my mother’s a lovely, lovely hu- lovely human being, but my point is, is this: is just that so often when it comes to working with the mind, people completely overlook it, or we’re not addressing it, or we’re under-addressing it, and it was like we’ve normalized it.
So it’s like the fire going on, like there’s a fire and people are like, “Well, I am just ignoring it.” But when you think about it, even you hear me use the examples all of the time. Even an infant who’s getting proper nutrition but doesn’t get enough love can actually die or have failure to thrive, have major growth issues, health issues from not getting enough love and connection, and that’s just one example.
Or somebody can be scared to death and their heart stops or, you know, so many different things. And so my point is, is that if we take this to the next level and we really look at how much emotions not only impact your health but also your life in so many ways, they take away The, the negative emotions really ruin the quality of life that a person can have, the things that they do and they accomplish, but even how they feel about it.
Because it’s not just about accomplishing things, though maybe. It depends on what you want your life to be. Now, that’s the thing that I love about today’s episode with my beautiful volunteer, Mark. Now, ultimately, as I started working with him, the first things he said is he mentioned, you know, a couple things.
He’s first and foremost working on healing himself, and he has cancer. Another thing he mentioned is he also mentioned that he hasn’t really done what he wanted to do in life, that he’s, quote-unquote, “Known, like, all of the right things to do,” but never really followed through to do it. And as I started working with him, a huge pattern that came up for him is this feeling of feeling criticized and also self-criticism.
And that’s really what I want to highlight here, because this. Because so often you hear in our culture people say, “Oh, they have a pattern of self-criticism,” or criticizing themselves, and yet they know they have it, and they’ve had it for years. And yet what they don’t realize and really take seriously is it affects the level of happiness, the level of joy, the level of healing, you know, the level of feeling fulfillment in life, love in life, joy in life.
Like, it, it steals these things from people. And of course, it’s the mind and the mind programming, but that’s my point, is that just that in our culture, a lot of these patterns and a lot of these things have become so normalized. Like, oh, a pattern of crit- criticizing or self-criticism or whatnot. But when you really look at the big picture and you look at the impact that they can have on happiness and joy and how much you love life and thrive in life, being or doing whatever it is that you want, it’s profound.
And that’s the insight that I ultimately want to share, is kind of like a, you know, a feeling of, of looking at these patterns in a way that makes you want to really get in and change them. Because so often people may feel like, oh, you know, they’re, they’re, they have this pattern and, and they normalize it or suppress it.
But what happens if we really change it and transform it? And, you know, you hear me say all of the time that even this pattern of self-criticism, it can be very, very counterintuitive. And a simple example that locks self-criticism into place is this. Maybe you’ve heard this be- this before, where somebody says, “Oh, I look horrible in this shirt.”
And what’s, what’s the response? The response is supposed to be, you know, “No, you don’t. You look great.” And if somebody says that, it creates a compliment. “No, you don’t. You look great.” Now, ultimately what can get linked up in a person’s mind is that if they criticize themself, “I look horrible in this,” somebody’s going to compliment it or reassure it, which basically creates a link in the mind.
And so neural pathways, and when, when things get linked together in the mind, and they’re done so in a way where it’s producing certain emotions, those emotions can perpetuate. Like, the mind can keep going back to those same emotions over and over and over because it’s linked up to a reward. It works, right?
And of, of course, at a cost, though. You know, when you think about somebody criticizing theirself, themselves, it’s at a cost. And so in other words, a compliment’s great. Like, the reward of a compliment, feeling great, fantastic. But having to criticize the self for it, not so fantastic. And so of course, that gets linked up in the mind, and the mind then repeats it.
And of course, there’s other wiring as well, but that’s my point, is that so often people may fight these emotions or try to, you know, uh, just try to get rid of them or release them. But really, ultimately what we want to do is, of course, take them seriously, but then also rewire them at a deeper level.
That’s the key to making the lasting change, and of course, that’s key for healing and transformation and living a full, happy, healthy, amazing life. And so those are the insights that I want to share today, is exactly that, is paying attention. That’s the insight from working with Mark. And by the way, if you want to listen to the entire episode, you can definitely do so.
You can click the link in the show notes where, the entire session where I work directly with Mark. So you can listen. There are other additional insights as well that are really helpful. Uh, but that’s, this is the, the short, powerful insight for today. And by the way, if you are somebody who’s also working on healing yourself, if you’d like, there’s also a link for a free training in the show notes, so that is also available.
But either way, my biggest goal is literally I would love everybody to be happy, healthy, and thriving. So on that note, I want to ask you, please do take just a quick moment to hit the share button on this episode. You know, share it with somebody you love, somebody you care about, or somebody you don’t even know, because the more that every single person in our world is happy and healthy and loved and loving, truly the better this world is for all of us.
And so please do take just a quick moment to hit the share button, and please do make a point to have an incredible rest of your day. I look forward to connecting with you on the next episode. We’ll see you there.
