My name is Brandy Gillmore, and after recovering from my own life-changing injury, it’s become my mission to share with others the same discoveries I made that changed my health and my entire life. Let’s begin.
So let’s talk about the topic of manifesting and the reason that it doesn’t work for so many people, and what you’ll want to do instead to start getting those real results in your health, your life, your happiness. Because so often I see people who are visualizing or thinking positively or doing meditation or affirmations and doing all of the things, and yet the real changes that they’re wanting in their health, in their life, aren’t working.
And it’s not creating that real, real change. Now, let me give you just one simple example that I literally see all of the time, even when it comes to creating and manifesting a relationship. You know, so often I’ll see people who do this. They’ll say something like this, and there’s an energy to it.
They’ll say something like, “You know, I’ve been working on manifesting a relationship. I’ve been doing affirmations and positive thinking and visualization, and I’m just doing everything, and it’s just not working.” And notice for a moment the difference if somebody says, “Hey, how’s it going?” The feeling of feeling of feeling.
So notice if somebody says, “Hey, by the way, how’s your day going? Hey, how…” So the feeling difference, the real change. In other words, if you think about this for a moment, how huggable is this? If somebody says to you, “All right, so look, let’s do this, and by the way, I’d really like a relationship, and I’ve been working on a relationship, and I’m working on, I’m doing the affirmations and the positive thinking, and for some reason…”
And so it’s like that energy, or even the feeling of feeling like this and saying, “You know, I’ve been working on having a relationship, and it’s just not working, and it’s just…” And you can see that energy doesn’t really pull somebody in. It’s not attractive. It’s not huggable, if you will. Like instead having an energy of feeling like, “Oh, I’d love to have a relationship, and how can- wonderful to connect and to be,” like that type of energy, if you will.
Now, the reason that I use that example is because so often I’ll see exactly that, where somebody comes in and their energy is frustrated or it’s defensive or it’s sympathy or it’s just something that just doesn’t feel huggable, and then they wonder why they’re not really creating the relationships that they want.
And sometimes it’ll be a feeling of superiority or righteousness or, uh, defensiveness or, um, fixing everybo- and they don’t realize that they’re pushing everybody away, and I see that all of the time. Now, of course, relationships can be important for, for healing, for transformation, for love, for connection, and so this is just one example.
I’ll also see examples where people might be frustrated in their work, and they’re wanting a better and better and better job and pay and, you know, just to keep going and, and grow or whatever it is. They want to feel more rewarded, success- with their success in life, and yet they don’t necessarily love their job or whatnot.
So they’re showing up every day, and they’re showing up and, you know, “Okay, I’ll put in my eight hours, and I’ll put in…” And from that place- They’re not really attracting all of the wonderful connections that they could. But I’ll see people who are showing up, who are showing up at their work, and they’re showing up and they’re doing a fantastic job, and they’re getting a raise, or some opportunity comes up that where somebody sees them and is like, “You know, you’re amazing.
You’re… I see the effort and the, how amazing you’re showing up. Here’s another opportunity. Here’s another opportunity.” And so things continue to show up and arrive, not just because th- because somebody visualized it, but also because they embodied a real, real change. And so just grounding this, you know, so often I see people who, you know, they’re visualizing and thinking positive and wanting to manifest things like it’s a, a menu.
You know, like they’re waiting for it to show up in life, and I get it because even… By the way, I’m, I’m not judging at all. I mean, during my injury, for the first years of my healing, you know, I was doing the affirmations and the binaural beats and the frequencies and, and visualizing myself healed and, and all of those things.
So I was waiting for the healing to show up, waiting for it to be delivered and my body to heal itself. And the more I realized I had to really change. Like, it takes real change, a real transformation. But from that place, that’s when everything changes. It’s like your genius shows up. And even another example, like I’ll see people who maybe they expect to be taken advantage of by something.
And I’ll see people, you know, I’ve seen people in work and relationships and whatnot, and they expect to be taken advantage of. So then what happens is, let’s say they go to a business meeting or a social event or whatever it is, or whatever it is, but because they’re expecting to be taken advantage of or whatnot or feeling defensive, they show up and then they’re, you know, a bit distant or a bit guarded or a bit defensive.
Like, they’re, they’re just, they’re, they’re defensive or they’re critiquing or they’re… And that’s their energy. And then what happens is even when other people had an intention to be great with them, to connect with them, to include them, suddenly those other people are going, “Ooh, do we really want this person to be part of this business deal or part of this connection or part of this or part of that?”
They don’t because they go, oh, like so, so in other words, even if they were… Everything was going in a great direction, and I’ve literally seen this so many times, when something is going in a great direction, then somebody sabotages it because they expected to get taken advantage of. So then they showed up being defensive or guarded or, you know, the- just that energy.
And the other people started rethinking the whole thing because of the way they showed up. And so my point, what is my point? My point is, is that when we create change, we have to go far beyond just the positive thinking or the affirmations or the visualization or meditation or whatever it is, the positive thinking stuff, and we have to really, really, really change.
Now by the way, as it comes to healing, once I got and really understood that I needed to change me, that I really needed to feel different, to be different, once I really got that and stopped just waiting for everything to be, like healing to be delivered, and of course I was, you know, taking the supplements, the diet, the detoxes, the…
And visualizing and affirmations, but it was, it wasn’t a, a grounded transformation, that real, real change. And so I wanted to unpack that for a few reasons. First and foremost, because I see so often people, they get into the power of the mind, and then it’s not really showing up the way they want. They’re, you know, they’re visualizing and maybe they see a sign here or a sign there or evidence here, and they’re excited But it never really comes to fruition, and they wonder why isn’t it working.
So there’s that. Or because all the time I see people who are really wanting to heal themselves, and they’re working on healing themselves, but they’re not really creating that real change. And you hear me all the time say it does take a real change, and it does. But the beautiful thing is, is it becomes life-changing.
Like, you change yourself, you change your health, your happiness, your life. And of course, d- I’m not trying to say that programming your mind isn’t important, but it’s real mind programming. It’s not just surface, let’s do some affirmations, let’s do some positive thinking. It is a real change in your soul, in your subconscious mind, in your core.
And so when you get that in your subconscious mind and you get it in your core, and it’s a real embodiment of, like, really embodying the transformation, that’s when everything changes in a most beautiful, beautiful way. And so just food for thought, just because I see people stuck there all of the time, and it’s a big question that I get so often, and also a light bulb moment.
You know, so often, I’m… People start to see that, like, that relationship piece where I kind of, you know, illustrated the energy, and they go, “Oh my gosh, I’ve been doing that for years.” And so just that is my hope, is literally… I mean, imagine if everybody is healing themselves, changing their lives. That, the, just the better this world is for all of us.
